IPad Mini Retina and iPad Air Worldwide LTE 4G ?

I live in Egypt and I travel to the US sometimes so I was thinking about getting an iPad Mini Retina or iPad Air.
I've read that there is only one model from each iPad that supports 14 LTE bands in many countries in Europe and Middle East as well as the USA and it is unlocked but since it comes with pre-installed Sim card from US network vendors and there is no way to order an iPad without one, I am still confused.
Technically there is still no LTE/4G here in Egypt but my network carrier is already testing band 2600 so I need to make sure whether any iPad Mini Retina ot iPad Air I get from the US would work for me here or not.
Thanks in advance

It comes with a sim card. But you can simply take it out, and put one in for your own carrier.
While using your Egyptian sim in Egypt you'll get whatever your carrier offers. Likely 3G.
Now when travelling abroad, either you use your Egyptian Carrier's roaming plans whcih can be expensive or you can get an american pay as you go card. So you only pay for it when yoiu are going to use it.  When arriving in the US, simply swap sim cards and the iPad will connect to the carrier the sim car belongs to.

  • Itunes no longer connects to 5S, ipad Mini retina and ipad 2 after ios 8.02 update

Since the ios 8 and now 8.02 updates my Itunes does not connect at all to my iphone 5s, ipad mini (retina) and ipad 2.
iTunes' built in diagnostic sync test says no devices found.
I plug in the USB and nothing happens.
USB ports are working fine. All my other USB plug ins still work fine.
Same computer, same Windows 7 - 64 bit - all updated.
I did a clean iTunes delete per Apple instructions and then re installed iTunes again per Apple instructions and still nothing.
I got first a missing DLL error message and then not even a beep when plugging in the cord (yes all Apple accessories).
Anyone else run into this issue?
    Sheesh I hate updates!
    Thanks!

  • For Macbook pro Retina and Macbook Air Users Please Help

    Hi
i Want Ask Macbook pro Retina and Macbook Air Users how use this macs both ( Only how use  both )
we sit many hours on laptop that will hurt our eyes
what the macbook less strain on eyes
what the best macbook screen not hurt our eyes
sorry my english is not good but i hope you understand me
i want only users how use the both of this macs
    thank you

People are different.  Not everyone experiences eye strain with an LED/LCD screen, or with a retina screen or any other kind of screen.  Some people do.
So no one here can possibly say how you will feel using either one - everyone is different.
You need to find some display models or something and try them yourself and see what you like and how you feel using them.  Anything anyone here has experienced is immaterial - all that matters is what you expereince and we cannot predict that for you.
I stare at computer screens all day long, and have done so for many, many years now.  I've never had a problem with matte LCD, glossy LCD (like my MBP), CRT, plasma or page white.  About the only problem I've ever had is occasionally dry eye, since everyone tends to blink less when concentrating on anything backlit for long periods of time.  Simple artificial tears deals with that, and just learning to stagger regular breaks.

  • Handoff not working between iPad Mini Retina and 2014 Macbook Air

So, I've upgraded to Yosemite today on my 2014 Macbook Air and have updated to iOS 8.0.2 on my iPad Mini Retina.
Both are on the same wifi network. Both have bluetooth enabled and are paired.
Both have handoff enabled on them.
With all that, I cannot for the life of me get handoff/continuity to work between them. I've reset both machines and reset network settings on the iPad but still no joy.
    Am I missing something?
PS I don't have an iPhone, but I'm assuming it should work between an MBA and iPad?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello JMC1989,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like there is a problem with handoff. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

  • IPad air, no LTE option in settings

Hello, I bought an iPad Air WiFi and Cellular! I have insert SIM card 3 network and tried to enable 4G but there is no option which allows me to do that! No LTE option in settings! Can somebody help me with this please? Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much for the quick respond! Actually it gave me a network (carrier) update and 4G appeared!
    Regards!

  • My Superdrive cannot be detected by both my Macbook Pro Retina and MacBook Air. It used to be working perfectly. On the same token My USB stick cant be detected by My MacBook Pro Retina. But It can be detected by my Macbook AIR

My SuperDrive cannot be detected either by MY MBP Retina and my MBA. it was working perfectly till a month ago.
To add to this issue my MBP Retina is not able to detect my USB stick either. Is there anything to do with the firmware?!!

Is this the Apple USB 2.0 SuperDrive (I'm assuming that it has to be...). Likely a problem with the drive, if neither computer recognizes it. Take it to your local Apple Store and have them look it over and see if it will work with any of their display models. If you're still under warranty, they should replace it for nothing. If it's out of warranty, you may just have to buy a new one.
I would also carry along your rMBP and the USB stick that's causing problems. Have you tried another USB device in the port? Another USB flash drive? Or is the problem with the one flash drive?
I don't know of any firmware updates for the 2012 models that have come out specifically tied to USB problems. There were some earlier in the year... have you kept up with all of the updates via Software Update?
Good luck - sounds as if you've a bad SuperDrive and (possibly) a problem with your USB ports (or maybe just this one USB flash drive).

  • Ipad mini retina and Apple TV

I just got a retina Ipad mini a little over a week ago and an Apple TV (3) yesterday. When I turned on mirroring on my 1080p TV I get black bars on either side and a slightly narrower image on the TV. I figured this is due to the different aspect rations of the Ipad (2048x1536) and the max resolution of the display (1920x1080). I've tried using the TV (Sony XBR2) screen adjustments but can't get a full screen without zooming - which of course, cuts off the edges of the display. The only solution appears to be getting a newer TV that can handle the higher Ipad resolution but that would involve having to get a new TV. Are there any other options short of replacing my TV with one that does the higher res?
    Thanks
    Norm

Have you tried setting your TV Resolution?

  • IPad Mini Retina and Win 8.1 Connection Looping

When I plug in ipad mini to new ASUS PC that I just upgraded to Win 8.1 the USB connection does not stay permanently established. The ipad loops between connecting and not connecting and just keep looping back and forth.  The device manager goes back and forth displaying the ipad.    Worked fine on Win 8.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Sddhrth92,
If you are having an issue with your iPad randomly restarting, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iOS: Device unexpectedly restarts, displays Apple logo, or powers off
In particular, since your iPad is up to date with iOS 8.0.2 -
If you still see this issue after updating, contact Apple Support.

  • Bluetooth between iPad mini retina and iPhone 5

    Hi All.
Post upgrade to iOS 8 on both my iPad and iPhone i am unable to pair the 2 devices over Bluetooth.
I Have restored both my devices through iTunes and set up as new devices but I am still unable to pair together. This is stopping my from tethering my iPad to my iPhone.
Has anyone experienced these issues after upgrading to iOS 8 ?

Well, there is no apple here, take it back to where you bought it.

  • Ipad mini retina and gorilla glass

Do anyone knows "FOR SURE", not i think, or someone told me, with a link to it, if ipad mini has or doesnt have gorilla glass?
I dont want to hear your stories, feelings, etc. Just the facts maam!

It does not have Gorilla Glass. It uses a different type of glass but with similar if not identical properties. If you did a bit of Google searching you probably would have found this on your own.

  • Mini-DVD and MacBook Air

I have a MacBook Air and purchased the Super Drive for MacBook Air.  I have all these family movies on DVD Mini's.  Is there anyway to play them and get them into IMovie?  Is there an adapter that will work in the slot?  Is there such a thing as an external drive for these little discs?  Any help will be really appreciated!

No. There is no adapter to get mini-DVDs safely into a MBA.
If you do a Google search you will find that there are lots of external drive that can be used with mini-DVDs.

  • IPad air and LTE in Germany with O2

When can you expect that with the Ipad air and the Mini retina can be used also LTE by O2 in Germany
The frequency bands of the Ipdas are identical to those of the IPhone 5S - why is the function at O2 still not teleased?
Sice already the TouchID when the IPad was saved and do not exist, the lack of LTE keep coverage now but certainly me from a purchase.
Do you hav Information about LTE with O2 on Ipad Air and IPad mini Retina? O2 certainly has none.

This will probably come in handy for you.

Your questions are sort of all over the place and it makes it difficult to offer help when you splatter a whole bunch of stuff against the wall at once.
Mail accounts will sync to the iPad from iTunes if they are selected to sync. You can add the email account to the iPad in Settings>Mail, contacts, calendar>Add account. If you restore the iPad from a backup of another iPad, that should restore the email accounts to the new iPad.
Your backups will always be separate because iTunes reads the serial number on the iPad so if you had 10 iPads and gave them all the same name, iTunes would still see each one as it's own device.
You also threw the iPhone into the mix now. Why don't you start over and explain what you did to set up the new iPad Air. Or just start over and clarify all of the information a bit.

  • New iPad mini retina but why can't I download pages and numbers for free?

I have just bought an iPad mini retina and used my current itunes account to register on the iPad. I can see that the keynote that I bought before is free but not numbers and pages. Are they not suppose to be free when buying a new device?

Hi, I did use my current apple ID to activate the device but I can't see it as one of my devices that are registerd to my ID. I have an iPhone and an iPad 2 that shows when I look on the devices connected to my account. Should I reset anything to do new registration? I have tried to log out of itunes account and login again but it still doesn't work.

  • IPad mini Retina keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from Macbook Pro USB 3.0

    Good evening everyone,
I know this title seems similar to existing questions around the internet, but they were either out of date or didn't lead to an answer.
The two devices in question are an iPad Mini Retina and a Macbook Pro late 2013. They are both up-to-date in software terms with iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3.
I kind of ruled out the cable as the culprit because the connection to my iPhone is flawless which makes me think the USB ports aren't part of the problem either (Problem occurs on both Ports). Connecting the iPad to a power socket works fine as well.
As the title states it (re-)connects and disconnects in intervals of approx. 0.5 seconds which is followed by a "dong", the charging symbol on the iPad and a message in iTunes which either states "Device isn't connected" or "Device wasn't found". I tried to check the box in iTunes "Prevent devices from automatically syncing[...]" but nothing changed.
This problem does not occur at all times but I have not been able to get a hold of when it does work.
I also tried a diagnose on my Macbook but no errors have been found and the iTunes Version is up to date as well.
This is about all the input I got and really do hope to get some helping answers.
Looking forwards for and appreciating your answers
    Marius

It does seem to be a cable issue although the iPhone got no problems.. Mysterious.
    Thank you
