IPad mini Retina suddenly stopped charging
I have an iPad mini Retina, iOS 8.1.2, which is now out of warranty, but I got a serious problem with it: One day, while it was charging with an Apple original cable and wall charger, the "This accesory may not be compatible" message was displayed and, since then, it never charged again with any charger. I have cleaned the outlet and the cable itself for any lint, etc., but nothing changed. All the accesories are Apple-branded and original, so I don't understand why is this happening and I'm stuck with an useless, beautiful $400 brick.
Thanks for any feedback on this issue.
Hi Maybe a hardware problem make an Appointment at Apple Store They may replace ipad but you will need to pay part of the cost. Cheers Brian

Hi, my ipad mini has suddenly stopped working and I cannot turn it off or connect it to the computer, can anyone help me on this??
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Brand new iPad Mini Retina won't charge when its connected to my PC
I just opened up my brand new iPad Mini Retina and attempted to plug it into my PC and set it up. The iPad quickly recognizes my PC, briefly displays the charge symbol then immediately displays "not charging." I have attempted to plug the iPad into the wall, and it charges just fine. All the cables I'm using are straight out of the box which I bought right from the Apple Store so I know its not any of those. My laptop is fully charged and also plugged into the wall, so I know its not my computer. I also double checked everything by plugging my iPhone 5 into my computer (with the new iPad lightening cable) and it charges/syncs just fine. Im stumped, please help me fix my brand new iPad Mini Retina.
I know you said PC, for for others that have an iMac with USB 3 ports, they can put out extra power to charge an iPad. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4049?viewlocale=en_US)

TS2634 Why would my ipad Smart Cover suddenly stop charging?
HHI my ipad Smart Cover suddenly has stopped charging when I close it. Can anyone give me a reason it might do that?
Gotcha...figured it was worth mentioning.
What I would do next (provided you've exhausted everything else) would be to backup the device using iTunes...backup your media as well. Then restore the device as new, not using any backup. After the initial setup, don't install any apps or media. Test for the issue. If the issue is present after restoring as new, that a good indication that there's a hardware issue. If the issue is not present after restoring as new, the issue a likely a botched/borked setting somewhere in the backup of the iPad. In this case (and assuming you want to clear the issue), you'll have to rebuild your device (apps media, settings, everything) from the restored as new state. This won't be pleasant or enjoyable but it may need to be done if you want to clear the issue. I had to do this recently to clear a different issue and I know it's not easy, especially all of the settings involved. I may have it a bit easier than most since I keep my iPads pretty empty...my 16 GB devices have more than 8 GB free on average (3 - 4 GB used). -
I plugged my iPad Mini Retina in to charge this morning in a UK plug socket using the official out of the box charger.
It charged from 0-27% in roughly 3 hours.
I have come home to find it is not charging at all, when turned off when I plug the powered cable in it does turn on as if it is receiving power but it does not charge.
It is 1 month old and hasn't experienced heavy usage as such. Thanks Sig. The information is here: Anything useful stand out?

TS1741 my ipad all of the sudden stopped charging
My Ipad all of the sudden stopped charging. It wont even charge or be recognized from my laptop on itunes. Please help. Is my battery dead?
Three possibilities - bad cable, charger or the iPad/battery. Since iPad not recognized, I suspect the cable. Make sure the cable is fully connected.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. IPad Mini Retina acts buggy w/ enclosed 10W charger ?
My new 16G iPad Mini Retina 4GLTE came with a 10W charger. But as soon as you plug in the charger (I use an electrical outlet and NOT a computer) the iPad starts acting buggy; it will continuously blink and beep on and off-- the same as usual if the iPad has just been plugged in to charge, but it will blink off immediately and then blink/beep on and off again continuously until it's unplugged.
It's hard to say whether the iPad battery is actually charging in this state, because I unplug it right away from being freaked out. I do not see the little "lightning" charge icon next to the battery indicator though, so I doubt it.
Other 10W adapters from older iPads which have worked perfectly fine before, behave exactly the same way when plugged into the Mini. Thankfully, I have a 5W charger from an iPhone5, and that seems to do the trick.
But what if I didn't have a 5W charger? Is there a fix for this? Shouldn't a 10W charger work fine? Is there something wrong with my iPad Mini Retina? Is this an Apple charger? Presumably yes.
The Apple 10W charger should work fine with the iPad Mini Retina.
There could be a problem with the Retina iPad Mini.
If this problem occurs regularly take it and the charger to an Apple Store for evalution or contact Apple Support. -
Will an iPad mini retina purchased in Spain work and charge in the uk
I Had to replace two stolen iPad mini retinas whilst on holiday in Spain. I've been home about a week now and both are very slow to charge at best and will not charge at all on most of my high speed or normal chargers!
they we're bought in the Apple shop Murcia and at the time I asked the assistant to confirm they would be compatible for working in the uk Which she confirmed that they would!
is there anything I can do to resolve this?Hi Mjj8801,
Apple’s iPad power adapters are designed to use any power system that falls within 100 - 240V AC, 50 - 60 Hz, 0.15A. See this article -

IPad Mini Retina Display Intense Flickering Issue
Hi all, I've got an iPad Mini Retina 16 Gb iOS 7.1.2, I purchased at end of November 2013. Beginning yesterday, I had two incidents several hours apart where the display would suddenly start flickering like an old black and white TV set. First time it occurred I thought it may be an app issue/incompatibility as I had just downloaded an app from the App store. I couldn't do anything with the device, so I held the on/off button down to do a hard shut down, I couldn't actually see the swipe bar to shut down but I swiped where it usually is and then shut the thing down. It was fine when I turned back on, so I just chalked it up to a one-time anomaly. About 3-4 hours later the same thing happened completely out of the blue. Did the same thing, intense gray scale flickering like an old b/w TV. Did a hard shut down again then turned back on and it was fine. Well it just happened again today which means the display flicker issue has now happened 3 times in the last 24 hours. I even took a photo of the display flicker with my iPhone so I'd have something to show someone at the Genius Bar.
Anyone else hear of this issue? If so, anyone know what causes it? I've resigned myself to a Genius Bar appt in the next day or two which hopefully means a quick swap with a replacement device. Input appreciated! You can't downgrade the iOS level so forget about that. I doubt that this is due to iOS 8.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
IPad Mini Retina not syncing with iTunes
My iPad Mini Retina has not been syncing with iTunes for some time.
I have reset it - by holding down the home and power key. I am using the new Macbook Air 2014 - because it has crashed on a few occasions it has also been restarted recently.
I am running IOS 7.1.2 on the Mini and 11.3 on the Mac Air. It has stopped at various parts but the last few times has been stopping at Step 4 of the sync. A few people seem to have had this issue but I have not found a resolution yet.iPad not appearing in iTunes

In order to resolve this issue where your iPad is not charging, I'd like you to please ensure you are using the correct power adapter as depicted in the support article below, as well as making sure the cord and outlet you are using are both functioning.

IPad mini Retina touchscreen dead spot
ok, my iPad mini retina's touchscreen occasionally becomes unresponsive in a small area near the top. hitting the sleep/wake and logging back in always fixes the issue. Anyone know what might be wrong? Maybe in need of a total reset and starting over?
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -
IPad mini Retina Display wont´t turn on after updating to iOS 7
Hi,
I just update my iPad mini Retina Display to iOS 7. Then, when I try to turn it on, it restart showing a blue screen. I try to reset the iPad holding and presing the Home Screen and the Wake/Sleep botton. It doesn´t matter, it still restarting showing the blue screen. Everytime I connect the iPad to the charger or the PC, it will restart.
Any help would be appreciated.
