IPad mini slide to unlock not responding

For some reason when the iPad mini is powered off then powered on, the slide to unlock will not immediately respond to my finger until several tries. But when it's on standby mode there is no problem. I already reset the iPad and updated to the latest OS but it is still doing that. Anybody has experience this and know any solution?

Try this:
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).
If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new first (to isolate cause of the issue). Then from backup if necessary.

a new problem occurred with ios 8.3 ipad mini applications sometimes do not respond when touched Fix it in ios 8.4

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • HT1212 slide to unlock not responding

slide to unlock not responding on my Ipad 2, tried to hard reset it, still not responding, any suggestions

If Restore doesn't work, force iPad into Recovery Mode. Follow step 1 to 6 very closely.

  • HT1430 My  IPAD Mini touch screen is not responding, it is showing a message icloudBackup but the back up is not happening and the system seems to be hanged

My  IPAD Mini touch screen is not responding, it is showing a message icloudBackup but the back up is not happening and the system seems to be hanged?

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem.

  • Slide to unlock not responding

My ipad2 is not responding to slide to unlock / power off, tried several times by rebooting but no success

By rebooting do you mean a reset ? - press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPod touch "slide to unlock" not responding, same with "slide to power off."

I'm trying to fix my friend's iPod 5. As of last night she said that her iPod will not slide to unlock, as if the touchscreen is unresponsive. However, assistive touch is turned on and that functions fine. The device also cannot be powered down, as that slide bar has the same response, and no amount of tapping or sliding yields any response. The device is also protected by a password, making it impossible to connect to itunes, and even if you use siri to force your way to the passcode screen, none of the buttons but assistive touch will respond.
I've tried to force the device into recovery mode, however the home button is broken (why the device requires assistive touch) and no matter how much I try it will not go into recovery mode or do any sort of reset. As for physical damage the screen is in perfect condition, the only flaw being the broken home button which was done months before this problem.
Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Try letting the battery fully drain. Then charge and restore if you can. Otherwise
make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem besides the button.

  • HT4623 My iPad mini's screen is not responding to any touch.

Tonight when I turned on my iPad mini, it booted up like normal but the screen won't do anything when I touch it to unlock it or try to do anything else.  The buttons work but I can't do anything else.  Could it be because the operating system needs to be updated or could it be another related issue?

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if it works ok after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPad mini touch screen borders not responding

My ipad mini touch screen borders aren't responding and I tried rebooting by holding the sleep and wake button, please help me.

    Hey there EMB08,
It sounds like you have noticed that the edges of your screen aren't responding to touch. You should use these steps to help troubleshoot the issue or seek service if needed:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1827
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see theService FAQ for your product.
    Additional Information
Tip: To isolate an issue related to a portion of the Multi-Touch display, follow these steps:
Open the Maps application and double-tap each corner, then the center, to verify that it zooms in to each section.
If a specific area is affected in another application, note the location and try to verify touch functionality for that location in the Maps application.
On iPhone and iPod touch, you can also use Calculator:
Open the calculator app to test all but the top row of the screen. Press each button on the calculator and verify activity.
To test the area at the top of the screen, rotate the device to change to the scientific calculator and press the buttons in the left or right two rows.
When speaking with a Mac Genius or Service Provider, you can use this information to assist with evaluation of your issue.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling
