IPad Mini Touchscreen

I just updated my iPad Mini to 6.1 or something, just for the bug fixes. Now, my touch screen is messed up. I can slide and click on apps, but once I'm in the app, I can still slide but I can't click on anything. Before any tells be to reboot, I already tried that.

Hi, Marki1120.
I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device.  If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.
After testing the results and if the issue persists, try the steps in the articles below.

MY Ipad Mini Touchscreen Is Not Responding. It Won't Let Me Type In My Password When I Tried It Then Said That It Was Disabled For 1 Minute. Then I Tried It Again It Said Disabled For 5 Minutes. then I Tried To Reset It, I've Tried Recovery Mode NOTHING! Now The Screen Is Stuck On Choose a Wifi Network...Can Someone Help Me Please

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • TS3274 My iPad mini touchscreen starts okay, but after awhile it stops responding

When using my touchscreen on my iPad Mini, sometimes it displays multiple copies of the same characters - even though I've only touched one of the keys - zooms in and out of the screen of its' own free will and jumps from one web page to another - without me touching anything,
This fault seems to happen only after a while of being used and pressing the 'home' button and the 'sleep' switch at the same time for 10 seconds, temporarily resolves the problem, but doesn't cure it.

    If the above doesn't work:
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Reset All Settings does not delete anything, all it does is take most of the iPad's settings back to default (with the exception of accounts setting, and maybe a couple other things.) It is perfectly safe.
The only inconvenience is that you have to go back through almost all your settings and set them to your preference.

  • IPad Mini touchscreen partly not responsive

The left part of my iPad Mini is not reacting on touch.
I need to always turn the iPad to use the part of the interface that reside on that part.
And yes: I performed reset, even restored the iPad to factory settings.
On setting it up as a new device I were even not able to type an "a" (the a is on the left side of the keyboard in upright position).
An so I even needed to restore from iTunes Backup.
That should illustrade my struggles enough, I presume :-)
    Besides that:
The iPad sometime reacts weirdly and opens and closes apps that were not open.
If I type a character, it inserts 10 of them...
Resetting or restarting only fixes the weird reactions for a moment...
Please help me out if you can but don't offer stuff like "see the Genious Bar" (which I'm going to do soon) and performing reset and restart (which I did already)..
Thank you guys for your time.
    Kind regards,
    Jo.

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • IPad mini touchscreen not as responsive...

    Hi,
I have purchased my iPad mini last Friday and been using it since. I noticed when I am watching video and trying to adjust the volume on the screen, it's not as responsive as I experienced on my iphone. I have to try so many times for sensing my finger to adjust the volume.
The volume bar normally places near the edge of the screen. I am not sure if it is the reason.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Have you tried changing various items in Settings > Wallpaper & Brightness?
Once you tried that and are convinced the settings are not the issue, then you should take it to the Apple Store for an assessment.

  • IPad mini touchscreen issues

Hey guys I have the original iPad mini which I purchased in the month of May last year. So far it was good but now I have some problems with the touch screen in the bottom left corner of the ipad when it is in portrait orientation. The sensitivity is really poor and sometimes I am not able to select the keys at all. I would like to know why this happened all of a sudden and I don't know what to do about this.

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • IPAD MINI TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING

Ipad mini touchscreen stopped working.  Help?

If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings  (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).
Again... how's he going to go to any of that when the touchscreen is dead?
My response adds value by eliminating that same copy/paste canned answers when clearly the question wasn't read.
How's your brain working when it's overwhelmingly obvious you missed the part about the TOUCHSCREEN not working...
Again, good advice Dr. Canned Answer... Home button and Power, sure... short of the buttons being broken as well, that might help...
The "if that doesn't work" part was clearly the rest of the waste when he can't get there...
This sums up your advice for fixing the touchscreen when the touchscreen is broken...

  • IPad mini Retina touchscreen dead spot

ok, my iPad mini retina's touchscreen occasionally becomes unresponsive in a small area near the top. hitting the sleep/wake and logging back in always fixes the issue. Anyone know what might be wrong? Maybe in need of a total reset and starting over?

  • Shutdown ipad mini without using touchscreen or Home button

    Hi,
My touchscreen got broken and while repairing that their was some issue(touch not working), HOME button is also not working.
Now in order to fix my touchscreen I have to shutdown it.
How do I shutdown iPad mini  ?  [Touchscreen , Home button both not working]
Is their a way from iTunes ?
    Any other way out.
    Thanks,

The Home button does not shut down the iPad. Use the button on the side of the iPad.
Normally I'd recommend that you have an Apple technician take a look at your device but it seems you have voided the ability to have Apple service your iPad by having someone disassemble it.

    Hi NILANJ PATEL,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like your iPad mini needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

  • Hi, have touchscreen problem in ipad mini

my touchscreen no respond when touch the screen

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button while you press and hold the Home button at the same time. This forces your iPad mini to restart. Ignore the Slide to Power Off slider when it appears; continue to hold down both buttons until your iPad mini restarts and you see the Apple logo in the middle of the screen.
If it is still not working try...
    2. Restore your iPad mini.
Connect your iPad mini to your computer as though you were about to sync the two devices. Then select the iPad in the iTunes sidebar and click the Restore button on the Summary tab.
Restoring your iPad mini erases all your media and data, and resets all your settings.
Because your data and media (except calendar events, contacts, and playlists you've created or modified on your iPad since your last sync) still exist on your computer, you shouldn't lose anything. Your next sync will take longer, and you will have to reset any settings you've changed since you got your iPad mini. You can take extra precaution by right-clicking your iPad mini in the iTunes sidebar (on the left side) and choosing Back Up before you click Restore.

  • Faulty touchscreen for my iPad mini

The entire left column of my iPad mini is faulty. My concrete evidence is that when i use safari, and intend to close the first tab, closest to the left side, the "x" is totally not responsive. Other evidences such as area near to the left of the screen, actions taken are either erratic or not as responsive; one of the examples is when I type and intend to change from ABC to 123, it totally failed to respond at all, same goes to the "shift" key. I did what I need to do; hard reset, wipe screen with damp cloth, tear off the screen protector, with practically all the possible steps I can do, it still is faulty. Went to the nearest Apple reseller, the iPad mini was somehow okay on the spot. Returned home to the same problem again. Looked like it had some sort of temper.
Anyway, the faulty area on the left is exapandable; sometimes the slim area near the left can stretch a few centimeters towards the right. Meaning bigger area of total unresponsive touch screen. I pulled my finger across the screen to check the sensitivity. I pulled it across and to the right, the home screen retracted as soon as the last millimeter of my skin is off the side of the screen. I did the same thing, pulled it across to the left, some part of my finger was still there, and it already retracted. As mentioned, at times when the faulty area expands, it becomes even more obvious that it stops responding; around 1-2cm from the left of the screen has totally no response to my finger, which is still there dragging on the screen. 1-2cm is the peak of the problem, which only stays until I sleep/wake or restart the iPad mini, and then the problem minimizes again.
The consistent problem is a very small area, which is the entire left side of the screen, but it is only completely visible and obvious when I close tabs in Safari. Help please? Is there a possibility that it's the digitzer that is faulty? The staff at the Apple reseller asked me to use it for another week to confirm problem. It began to have this problem 2 days ago

There's nothing under Malaysia in that link
Yes I did. The warranty is valid. The trouble is getting to Apple's direct channels. The authorised resellers here in my town are only responsible for the products they sold by themselves. I ordered mine from the website and had the iPad mini delivered to my doorstep, not from the local authorised resellers. That's why the local authorised resellers are not responsible for my iPad mini and they would charge me a fee for delivering it to the headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
If I were to fly in myself to KL, it would cost me 120USD for return tickets. Ouch!

  • IPad mini backlight issues after digitizer replacement

I recently replaced the digitizer on my 1st gen iPad mini, and after reassembly, I'm havering issues with the backlight. Please have a look at my photo and let me know what the issue may be.
    Thanks a lot,
    Dave

I guess I should have mentioned before that this is my second time replacing it. The first time there was a faulty digitizer and the home button wouldn't work. But the touch screen DID work. Now its flipped, my second time around fixing it the home button works fine and the touchscreen is unresponsive. I thought it might have some damage from being dropped but the touch screen worked before. So I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if its something i can fix. Thanks

  • How do I get my iPad Mini to stop moving by itself?

For a couple of months now, my iPad Mini just moves by itself.
It goes on apps and takes screenshots all by itself! So, I was wondering,
how can I make it stop moving by itself? Is it a bug? Is it being hacked?
I think it may have something to do with Bluetooth, I'm not sure though.
