IPad mini Wallpaper

Turning your own image into wallpaper may seem like an old school task, but apparently it's still drawing board material for some people. After years of listening to Apple users rave, I find myself wondering why, I guess even dial-up internet had its share of fans. I made the switch and have encountered just as much, if not more problems and inconveniences as my previous platform. With all the amazing things you can do with pictures these days, it just seems so incredibly sad for the iPad mini to have such short comings.

  • IPad mini wallpaper zooms in whenever I restart

So I always use high resolution images for my ios backgrounds. I always keep perspective zoom off unless I am using a stock image as it completely zooms in on the picture. However, whenever I use non stock pictures, I keep them zoomed right out to keep them at the highest resolution possible, but whenever I turn off my iPad, when I turn it on again all the wallpapers (lock and home) are drastically zoomed in, so much it distorts the picture and this really bugs me. I am running iOS 8.01

    Hello El Chubbo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To start troubleshooting this issue where your background image zooms after restarting, I'd like you to please first update your iPad to iOS 8.2, the most current release.

  • How do I set a photo as wallpaper to my iPad Mini after iOS 7.0.2 software update?

I open up the Photos app on my iPad Mini to choose a photograph to use on my home screen and lock screen. First, I hit Select located in the upper right side of the screen of the app and I choose a photograph to use. Second, I choose AirDrop located on the upper left corner of the app. Afterwards, I choose Use as Wallpaper found in AirDrop. Next, the photo is shown with the words Move and Scale on it. Then I choose Set Lock Screen, Set Home Screen and Set Both, not all do these at once though. When I click on each of these buttons nothing happens. The photograph I chose will not show up on my Lock Screen and Home Screen. I want to set this photograph to show up on both my Lock Screen and my Home Screen. I am getting very frustrated that I can not set a photograph to Set Both so that it shows up on both my Lock Screen and Home Screen at the same time. I forgot to say that I just went to my settings, then general, then reset and finally Reset All Settings before doing this, because I could not download any new apps at all. I am wondering if this has anything to do with this? I am willing to take any help I can get. In the end, I end up hitting cancel, because I am very frustrated.

    Hello there, RedHead101.
The following iPhone Basics guide should help you with how to do this. It should work just like that on your iPad:

  • Why is the lock screen wallpaper in my iPad Mini blurry

When the iPad Mini has been off for awhile, when you open the case the lock screen shows but the wallpaper background is blurry.  If I look at the wallpaper setting in Settings, I can view the picture as a wallpaper and it's clear (not fuzzy or blurry).  The only time it's blurry is when the lock screen is on.  Any ideas on why this happens or how to change it?

The lock screen covers the wallpaper. The lock screen is slightly transparent causing a blurred view of the screen beneath. In this case the the screen beneath is your wallpaper. The blurred view is normal.

  • I can't change my iPad Mini home screen wallpaper at all, not even a default. I can't change my lock screen either. Help! I'd rather not waste my time bothering with computer programs so please give me a SIMPLE solution if you can.

How do I change my seemingly unfixable iPad Mini Home Screen and Lock Screen wallpapers?

I tried that and that is what initially started this. I wanted a new wallpaper for my home screen and it didn't work so I reset it. The wallpaper is now zoomed in, I can't zoom it back out, and I can't change it to the new one I want. Plus, recently I had reset it and it stayed at the Appe logo and didn't move and I got scared that I'd never be able to use it again, I tried random things and it turned on again. I think I was just lucky so I don't want it to happen again. And yes I did look up how to fix it but it was really complicated so I just did what I mentioned.

  • What the??  Ipad Mini 3 home screen wallpaper zoomed WAY in

Once again, I have no idea how I did this, but my iPad Mini 3 which I just got, when I turned it on it's zoomed WAY out so the wallpaper on the screen is unrecognizable and the number buttons on the sign in, each button almost fill the entire screen.
Can you help?  I have no idea what I did.

    1. Double tap the screen with three fingers
    2. Settings>General>Accessibilty>Zoom>Off

  • On iPad mini iOS 7 changed wallpaper – how do I get back original wallpaper?

On my iPad mini – iOS 7 – I changed the wallpaper. How do I get back to the original wallpaper?

You can choose and use Apple default wallpapers on iPad from settings >> wallpapers & brightness. Here is a guide with screen capture for this issue, instructions to change ipad wallpaper

  • What is the best picture size/resolution to use as a wallpaper for iPad mini retina?

What is the best picture size/resolution to use as a wallpaper for iPad mini retina?

The iPad Mini with Retina display has a resolution of 2,048 x 1536 so something around that size would show up best

  • Unable to move and scale photos for wallpaper on IPad mini after iOS 7 update.

After update to iOS7 on my IPad mini, I am able to select my personal photos for the wallpaper, but I cannot move and scale them to fit.  The option is there but unresponsive.  I already had to remove the protective case to access the new control panel via up swipe which must begin below the screen next to the "home" button to initiate.  Now I can no longer personalize the wall paper with my own photos.  It's been a frustrating experience without any real perceptible improvements.

What a nightmare! Had I known what was in store for me, I would never have updated my iPAD Mini to iOS7.
The calendar with it's ultra-thin Helvetica is near impossible to see. To add insult to injury, not being able
to move and size a wallpaper photo is just totally unacceptable. So annoying when software is thrown out
there for the general public when it's obviously not ready. I tried the solution:
Go to Settings > General > Assessibility > Reduce Motion "set to OFF"
Next, in Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness > Choose Wallpaper (pick the wallpaper) - you should now be able to "Move and Scale" the photo that you've chosen for your wallpaper.
After you've SET the wallpaper, you can go back to Parallax motion by turning Reduce Motion to "ON" (see step 1)
And it just DOES NOT WORK. Plain and simple. I am so tired of Apple products that have bugs that we are all expected to work through and work out while paying anywhere from $500 to $2000 for a product. And of course you can't get online support in a quick, efficient manner. My big old $600 bite out the Apple is tasting mighty sour at the moment.

  • Ipad mini placing photo as wallpaper only on log in page

  • Will using a Ipad Retina wallpaper on a Ipad mini look bad

I just got a Ipad Mini and have a folder on my Macbook Pro filled with Ipad Retina wallpapers. I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to use these images as the wallpaper on my Ipad Mini since the resolution on my Ipad Mini is 1024-by-768 vs my old Ipad 3rd Gen's 2048-by-1536 resolution. I know the website I downloaded all the images from and can always go back an get Ipad 2 wallpapers since the Mini has the same resolution. I just dont want to if I don't need too
Thanks for your help in advance!!!

Yeah, it's up to date w/ iOS 6.1.

  • I want to return my ipad mini to the original background that appared once I updated to IOS7

The background was ok but I accidentally changed it and now i want to put it right back like it was but in the options of backgrounds the same picturo wont appear heeelp

I have the same wallpaper on my iPad 3 and was trying to find it so I could put it on my new ipad mini retina.
When I go to the wallpaper and brightness section, it shows the picture as the one I am currently using, but it is not listed in the choices. Very strange. I will not change choices because I would then lose it and not be able to go back to it. Anyone know where this picture is so I can add it to my new mini?
The picture is basically small ripples (waves) in blue water that progressivly goes up to just a nice blue color at the top.
Like looking at an ocean that merges with the sky and no real defining line.
I know I did not add this from anyplace else, so it either came on my ipad 3 or was an option in wallpaper before any upgrades that may have changed it. I am still on iOS 6 and did not upgrade to 7 yet. Wonder if I would lose it by doing the upgrade too?
Anyway, if anyone else has this wallpaper and knows where to get it, I would be thankful.

  • IPad mini touchscreen not as responsive...

    Hi,
I have purchased my iPad mini last Friday and been using it since. I noticed when I am watching video and trying to adjust the volume on the screen, it's not as responsive as I experienced on my iphone. I have to try so many times for sensing my finger to adjust the volume.
The volume bar normally places near the edge of the screen. I am not sure if it is the reason.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Have you tried changing various items in Settings > Wallpaper & Brightness?
Once you tried that and are convinced the settings are not the issue, then you should take it to the Apple Store for an assessment.

  • Resizing images on iPad mini

How do you resize a saved image to fit the screen of an iPad mini?
My mams having problems with her iPad mini.
She has saved an image to her camera roll, and whenever she goes to make it
her wallpaper it blows up so that the image is bigger than she would like it to be.
When she goes to make it smaller it pings back to the larger imae size.
IS THERE ANYTHING I COULD DO THAT WOULD MAKE THE IMAGE FIT THE SCREEN???
Thanks for any help I get, it is greatly appreciated.
    Celine Tovey
This is the image she is trying to make fit to her screen!!

I have found an app called "Background Optimizer"
Its a little bit tricky to use to get the image in the correct place, and size so that it doesn't zoom in to much, but it works.
you might have to try a few times to get the image size, and placing correct, and you have to make sure that the 'reduce motion' isn't on in the app when saving the image or it puts the image into the top left corner.
    Its a great alternative.
