IPad Mini wifi only works properly for 30 seconds!

iPad mini's wifi internet connection only works breifly on my network
Everytime I connect my iPad mini to my wifi, Internet on the iPad Mini works PERFECTLY but only for around 30 seconds.
Next time i connect my iPad mini to wifi, same thing happens
Internet on the iPad Mini then becomes very slow to a point where it will not load webpages, web content for apps etc
I have laptops, an iPad 1, iPhone 4, and an xbox that connect to the same network no problem at all
iPad mini works perfectly on other people's wifi network however
Already went to Apple geniuses, went to Apple hotline, and Apple online for help. They took me through all the troubleshooting steps but no answers that help
(upgraded firmware, reboot and restored both iPad and Router, messed with router settings etc)
only trouble-shooting step that wasn't taken was the change router settings 2.4Ghz to 5 Ghz because it didn't seem possible on my router

If the WiFi on your iPad works well on other networks the problem lies in your WiFi router or in its configuration. If there is no router firmware which solves this problem I'd simply replace the router.
Strange that among all the detail in your post you didn't mention the make, model or version of the WiFi router that you are using.

No. A WiFi only iPad does not have the necessary hardware for cellular service and iPad's hardware cannot be updated. If you want cellular service, you need to buy an iPad with cellular from the get-go.
If you are in the US and bought the iPad less thatn 14 days ago from Apple, you can return it and buy the one you want. If not directly from Apple, contct the retailer you purchased it from for its policies.

IPad Mini wifi not working even after updating to 6.0.2

I have updated my ipad mini to 6.0.2 still it says "Unable to join the network". I have tried everything possible Restored it to the factory settings, erased network settings, hard reset ipad (as told by apple personnel). Also the following, as suggested by many:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best)
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
Have also, removed encryption settings from my router even in that case it does not connect. HELP PLS !!!!

I have the same issue, nothing I did fixed the problem, I would suggest if you can visit apple store and give us your feedback with them.
for me I can't go to apple store because I don't have any store near me, I will have to wait for 2 months to travel!

IPad 2 wifi only works close to the router?

I have the iPad 2 with ios 7. It worked perfectly fine for a long time, but two or three weeks ago, the wifi signal dropped dramatically unless I stood in the same room as the router. The router is in a central location in my house. When I walk away, I drop down to one bar, and sometimes it loses connection entirely. I have tried to use this iPad in public places like Starbucks and the apple store and it works fine there. I have dropped my iPad a few times, so could this be an antenna issue? I had a genius bar appointment, and the apple employee brought up this idea and reset my iPad completely, hoping it would help, but the reset did not help. I have tried researching many ways to resolve this wifi issue, butintone have worked. Any help?

You may have damaged an internal connection.
Some iPad users have been able to revive their dropped iPad. Turn the iPad over and give it a HARD SLAP on the back. May take several slaps.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. How does the ipad mini wifi only know my location when not connected to wifi?

I thought the wifi only ipad mini does not have a gps chip. Yesterday however, I was driving around with my wife in the car (no wifi) and the ipad mini was able to keep track of my location on the map I had pre-downloaded. How is this possible?

Your WiFI only position is determined by the iPad keeping track of the names and intensity of the various WiFi signals and comparing that to a database of WiFi access points with their locations.

By connecting the iPad to your computer's iTunes, and either removing it from the list of music that you sync to the iPad and re-syncing, or selecting Music under the iPad 'device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and deleting the tracks that you don't want. One thing I would try is Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. Please note that all wifi passwords will be deleted but not apps, music, photos etc. will. I had this problem with my iPad Mini and this worked!

#1. Understand that if you switch carriers, you can NOT take your existing iPhone with you. It won't work. You will need to purchase a new one.
#2. Your only choices are Sprint and Verizon. Decide who has the better coverage in your area. I have an iPad 4 and bbm works like normal.. when downloading it you have to search 'BBM', then at the top of the screen change 'iPad only' to 'iPhone only'. BBM was optimized for iPhone so it will look blury, but its better than nothing!

I have a 13-in Macbook Pro, 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
My wifi only works at my house. it has been fine for the past 2 years everywhere else, but now the wifi says its connected, but the internet doesnt work.
I have already tried a number of things to resolve this as it has been happening the past 2 months by looking on here and some have worked, but I can't seem to get anything to work anymore.
When I run the Network Diagnostics the Network Status is the following:
wifi- Green
Wifi-settings- Green
Network Settings- Red
ISP-Red
Internet Server-Red
I am home right now so the internet is working fine, but seeing as I use my macbook for school and work, I need it to work everywhere.

If it was away from home, do you get all green lights when you run it at home, or does it work properly despite not all of the lights being green?
Does your school or work allow anyone’s computer to connect wirelessly, or do these sites require whitelisting of some sort to permit a computer to use their respective networks?

As far as i know service provider is not a constraint for i pad as ipads are always unlocked. Also, do we need to get nano sim from US or India srvice provider will have it? i am asking this as in Singapore iPads are offering 3 free nano sim cards.
