IPad Mini with 3G and IOS 7

I have used my iPad Mini and the 3g sim card to contact people through iMessage, email, and Facetime. After installing IOS7 I can still see that the sim card is recognized but now I can not use these features. Is there some setting that I am missing?

Are FaceTIme, Mail and Messages working over WiFi? Do other apps work over cellular like contacts, the calendar, etc?
Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Hold down on the sleep ad home buttons ath the same time until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.

I just bought an new ipad mini with wifi and cellular. Is there any way to send text messages to people and contacts that do not have iphones such as friends with blackberrys or a samsung galaxy smartphone from this ipad. Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

iOS device backups are stored in your iTunes library.
Move your iTunes library to an external drive.

  • If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS

If I buy a ipad mini with cellular, and not sign up for cellular service, can I use the onboard GPS, or does it depend on the cell signal since it is aGPS?

Right. But as I understand it, the aGPS is a function that speeds location using cell signals, but isn't necessary for the GPS signal. I can buy a plugin device that is a real GPS that I can use with my iPad mini. However, I would need an app for maps. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these.

  • IPad Mini with RD and ipad mini

    hello again...
At last i ordered for 32gb ipad mini with retina display. Yet to receive...
And there now is a small voice in side my heart which says that price comparison b/w iPad mini with retina display and iPad mini is considerably more. I feel that is it worth giving more money for retina display'?..
Could anybody help me to stop that voice..
And my choice of 32gb ipad mini with retina dispaly is fine against iPad air with all its light weight and all other fascinating features??...
    Thanks,
    SE

I Have the same problem. It started with using Safari, so I posted a question and then advised to do a cold reboot(home button +  power button), it helped fix some other bugs, but not the reboot. I also reset all settings in system Settings. It fixed some more bugs, but reboots still happen on YouTube app now. I think this may be a modem driver problem, because it only happened to me when I was communicating with the Internet.
BY the way, the keyboard after iOS 8 update ***** too. It gets stuck on Cap and double-letters occasionally.

  • Can't sync iPad mini with iTunes after iOS 8

iPad is just junk after iOS 8. I was  going to purchase a Mac book air this week, but now I don't know. can someone help me?
I have tried re syncing several times. i backed up my iPad. The music synced, but most  photos & iBooks haven't. They are in my iTunes i just can't get to them.
    thanks,
    eileen

Waiting for items to copy generally means there's some corrupted file that's gumming up the works. Often if you be patient and just let it sit and let iTunes do its thing, often it resolves itself.
I had an issue with the music on my iPod. It took me about half an hour waiting and it resolved itself.
Or you can try to sync your photos and books a few at a time and see if you can find the file that there's an issue with.

  • How do I add a PDF to iPad 2 with Yosemite and iOS 8.1?

I recently migrated my iPad 2 to iOS 8.1 and my iMac to from Snow Leopard (10.6.8, I think it was) to Yosemite (10.10). Now it is not at all obvious how to copy a PDF from the iMac to the iPad 2, and I could not find instructions in the online help.
Before migrating to Yosemite, I could copy a PDF to Books in iTunes and then sync the iMac and iPad 2, and I would get a copy of the PDF on the iPad 2. Now iTunes no longer has a place for Books (which used to include PDFs)—its Books are only iBooks or audiobooks. I can copy a PDF to iBooks, but when I sync the iMac and iPad 2, I do not get a copy of the PDF on the iPad 2.
I might be able to transfer the PDF to the iPad 2 using DropBox, but if there is a way that does not involve the cloud, I would prefer it. I cannot use DropBox on my iPad 2 unless I'm in a wifi zone, and I don't have one at home.
Does anyone know a way to copy a PDF from an iMac running Yosemite to an iPad 2 running iOS 8.1 that does not involve DropBox or a wifi connection?
    Thanks,
    Sheila

I didn't get a chance to try this today, because the PDF that I emailed to myself wasn't on my iPad when I looked for it there—that is, the message that I sent to myself wasn't there. I probably made some stupid mistake. However, I discovered that I can open iBooks on my iMac, click PDFs, drag the PDF into PDFs on iBook, and sync the Books on the iMac and iPad. Before clicking Sync, I have to find the list of Books (which includes PDFs) on the iPad and select the new PDF. The difference between what I was doing on Snow Leopard and what I am doing on Yosemite is that on Snow Leopard, I could drag the PDF into iTunes (under Books) and on Yosemite I have to drag the PDF into iBooks (under PDFs). The sync'ing part is the same.

  • I have an iPad mini with 16gb and it says I only used 13.4gb but when I try to download a game or something it says not enough available space when there should be at least 2 go left

What do I do to get back my space?

THe game likely needs space to 'unzip' so to speak and expand. Not to mention that on a 16 gig iPad, you only have 13 and change left after you take the operating system into account. (Settings, general, usage will tell you how much room you have left)
You can always delete some content to make room. Or if you ever synced it to a computer, download your game via the computer then sync it onto you device, you don't need as much free room that way.

  • TS1646 Can I purchase an iPad or iPad mini with cash and not a credit card

    Please help me

I remember seeing someone else having an issue that you must at least have part paymemt on a non-gift card credit card. For some reason it is required that a name from that be attached to the pruchase. No idea why, but that seemed to be the restriction. (I think they might have been in the store, but others reported the same thing).

  • IPad mini with retina has horrible camera quality

So I just got an iPad mini with retina and the camera takes very grainy low quality pictures. I was expecting better... Is there any way to fix this

    Hi,
Is HDR on? That adds HD, making the photo look better. Otherwise, iPads only have 5MP cameras which aren't exactly cutting edge or that high quality.
I would recommend restarting it or a reset (by holding the on/off and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears).
If that doesn't work, maybe you should check another iPad in a retail store and see if that is the same.
Hope this helps and Happy Holidays!

  • Can I use ipad mini with cellular without SIM card

I have purchased a ipad mini with wifi and cellular, thinking I could use my UK SIM card when required but leave it out when not in the UK. (Live in Qatar)
I can't activate imessage or facetime, and also I didn't realise it needs a nano sim not my micro sim. I get a cannot connect to network message.
Do I need to purchase a new sim for the ipad to work properly, I did assume it would work the same as an wifi only ipad if sim wasn't present.
    Thanks

Thanks James. I was hoping that was the case.
I've already updated the software, from a quick search that seems to be the network issue for imessage/FaceTime. Is there a fix for this? Ive no back up to go back to.

  • I just wanna buy a new iOS device and I'm confused between the iPod touch 5th generation, iPhone 4s 8GB, iPad 4th generation 16GB and iPad mini with the retina display 16GB model. Please help me figure out.

I have an iPhone 4s 16GB Model and I've been using it for about more than an year now. The reason I wanna get a new iOS device is because my 4s has got lots of scratches now and it's ambient light sensor seems not to work properly. Apparently, another reason is that the iLife and iWork suit are not free for me as my device is older and new devices get those softwares for free.
I thought to go with a new iPhone 4s again but the problem is that new 4s come with only 8GB of storage and they don't support AirDrop. So next, I thought to go with an iPod touch 5th gen because of its jaw-dropping design, bigger screen, more storage and AirDrop support. Because iPod touch is phone-less iPhone and they come at affordable price, I can also buy any cheap cell phone like moto e to replace my current iPhone 4S.
Another options that I thought a little bit on, is iPad 4th Gen and iPad mini with Retina display 16GB.
Now, should I just stick with my current 16GB iPhone 4s, or get a new one.
Or should I buy an iPod touch 5th gen and moto e (since iPod can't make phone calls)
Or should I go with one of the two iPad models that I aforementioned.
    Awaiting your valuable suggestions.
    Thank you!

by Belkin, so a place to start.
They're a lot more expensive, but Griffin has some of their 'survivor' cases with sealed ports, so you could cover up the ones you don't need.
If best buy isn't an option for you, at least there's a manufacturer to look for.

Thank you for the advice Randy. Very helpful of you to jump in with a post that adds so much value for the OP.
A bit of advice for you as a new user. Please refrain from making assumptions and using hyperbole. Both get in the way of providing useful support. Not "everyone" has tried the basics, let alone know what they are. That's why they're here. These first steps in troubleshooting often fix the issue being asked.
