Ipad mini with retina display has really slow and laggy streaming but very high download speed

I just got my ipad mini with retina display yesterday. The regular internet works fine as far as I can tell. I tried streaming video from watch espn, netflix, and youtube, and all three apps were so slow I couldn't watch anything. I have a high download speed too, it is 15 Mbps. I tried turning off the QOS engine in my router, and my download speed was up to 30 Mbps, and I still had the same terrible streaming quality. I tried changing the DNS as well, and this did nothing. I tried doing all the restarting and other "quick fixes," and nothing seems to work. Can anybody help me?

I've tried resetting by holding the front and top buttons. I've also tried resetting using itunes. Call Apple and explain as it is new. They will go over things to try and fix over the iPad over the phone. If they need to fix it they should send you a new one and you put the old one in thePrepaid return box they send you and send back the defective iPad for no cost. This is what they did with my first iPad 1st gen. I had. Unless they changed their policy you will get the box within a day or two and have your replacement for it the same day.

Similar to what I heard about the new Kindle HDX 7 to my dismay, my iPad mini with retina display that I drove an hour to pickup at the closest Apple store has an extremely noticeable blue tint on the top of the screen. Also ever so slightly on the right hand side. Anyone else have this? Am I being too picky? Will the apple store replace this? I paid Apple's premium price so I feel it should be perfect.

Yeah it's definitely not normal. I was thinking I'm not waiting 5 days for a replacement so I drove an hour back to the Apple store and got a replacement. The Apple employee was very helpful and could clearly see the blue hue. I ended up switching to a white model to change it up, and because they had zero 32gb black models. I love the white it makes it feel totally newer versus my old black non retina mini. So moral of the story, don't settle for blue backlight bleeding. This new one has NONE and I'm 100% satisfied!!

My iPad mini with retina has problem with battery. I use it for 4 months. Now, it faces a lot of problem. Especially, battery has the most problem. When I just bought it, battery was good. I played games for 20 minutes, the percentage is still 100%. But now, when I played games for 20 minutes, the percentage was 90%. The percentage cut down very much. I tried to turn off wifi, reduce the brightness, turn on airplane mode, but it still the same.

We'll the battery has its number of cycles, as time goes the battery will be used up and will need replacement. Try to close all apps running on your backround cause it will also use the battery life. Games with high end graphics will use more battery life due to more data processing involved.

My Ipad mini with retina display has a large hairline crack starting from the top left hand of the screen that contiunes to bottom of the right hand of the screen, as shown in the picture. I did not drop my ipad or damage it in anyway. I would just like some opions if this large hairline crack looks like a screen defect.

No, it does not. There are some apps which will turn the screen white so you can use that as a flashlight, but it does not have an LED camera flash.

IPad Mini with Retina Display's Volume Down button sticks, have to press really hard to make it unstick and then decrease volume level. Anyone else seeing this issue?

When trying to press the physical down volume button on my iPad mini with Retina Display, it sticks making you have to press really hard before it unsticks then allows you to decrease the volume level. Not sure if this is a common issue and not sure if its worth a genius appointment but it does seem to be getting worse. Anyone having this issue or know a fix? Thanks

Thanks for letting me know, I will have AppleCare arrange a replacement rather than getting a new retail box. I find the replacements are usually better quality when it is a new product. The AppleCare team said they wouldn't be sending a refurbished/repaired handset this early which gives me some confidence.
My home button does feel different and definatley sounds different but from what people have said this is normal. Someone posted a video of their and it was the same as mine so I'm not concerned.

I bought a new iPad Mini with Retina Display and the only charger that seems to work is the one it came with. Any other lightning chargers I have bought (including a 30 pin to 8 pin connector) won't charge. Not only is it annoying to have a 3ft cable to charge, but it's annoying to have only one cord.
Does anyone know why the other chargers won't work?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

What is better for college? An iPad air or an iPad mini with retina display?

I'm currently a junior in high school and I'll be graduating in the summer of 2015. My parents, well mostly dad, are planning on buying me the iPad air with 128 GB of memory. I got curious and went to look at the price and compare models and I saw that the iPad mini with retina display was the same as the iPad air, the only difference is the size. Since I saw that it was cheaper I was thinking on telling my parents to buy me that instead of the iPad air because it is more costy and my family isn't really the rich kind of people. I will be only using the iPad for school and nothing else since I have my iPod to play games on and stuff so it will only be used for purely educational purposes. Plus I've been hearing around that the iPad air is not that great and stuff because it has a bigger screen and such. Personally for me, I do not care about the screen size I just care about the price for my parents' sake because I don't like it when they have to spend a lot of money. So can you please help me decide on which to get and why it would be better than the other? Please and thank you.

Safari crashing on iPad mini (with retina display).

I'm a 4 month owner of the iPad mini (with retina display). I really find it really disgusting that Apple knows their Safari (and other browsers Mercury & Chrome) on the iPad without warning keep crashing to the home screen. IOS 7.1. Apple exchanged my tablet for they said a new one? However, as soon as I started using it (an hour later) at home same thing, CRASH CRASH CRASH NO APPS INSTALLED!!! There are reports of the same crashing also on the i5's...
I'm also on the web looking for a tablet replacement that does not require me to buy an app so I can view all flash without have to find a work around...

Recently I bought an ipad mini with retina display, when playing clash of clans I found that ipad 4 having nicer graphic than ipad mini with retina display, why? I though ipad mini with retina display having better graphic.? Or my newly bought ipad mini with retina display got problem?

Crash in Ipad Mini with Retina Display

Hi, I hope this would draw Apple concern and fix the problem ASAP. I experience the great apps, smooth, camera, music and everything on Apple when I first had my Apple product which is ipad 3, I really love Apple' s ipad. From iOS 5-6, I never experience any crash or lag with my ipad 3 and even graphic intense game run smoothly.However after I upgrade my ipad 3 to the much anticipated ios7 , lag occur when I switch between window and crash for safari browser occur frequently. I decided to get an ipad mini with retina display since it is more portable to carry around and easier for my studies, but it is very disappointing experience for the new ipad mini which claim to have A7 and 64 bits and I do experience frequent crash on safari browser and Facebook apps. Besides that, it is not pleasant to have application force close when playing games. Next my ipad mini will experience reboot sometimes when I m using it. Hope Apple will fix this problem in coming new updates because I expect Apple have better user experience than android does! Thank you!
