IPad Mini with Retina display with intermittent airplay connectivity
I have the new Ipad Mini with Retina display. My airplay on it worked flawless for the first two days and then there was an update for 7.0.4 and now it works intermittently. I have verified the wireless connection, updates and made sure that APTV2 is ON and connected to the same wireless. Is there something else I am missing ? I have also verified my router settings.

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

They will replace your "broken" iPad with an iPad of equal type .... so NO, they will not replace it with a new iPad 4th generation. They will actually replace your "broken" iPad with a refurb, not a new one.

Can I exchange my iPad for another one with retina display with extra payment?Did you purchase it at an Apple Store? If so, then you should be able ot have them look up the receipt in their system. If you purchased it at another store, check their policies. IIRC, Best Buy allows you to exchange items without a reciept, but they won't refund without one. Other stores may have other policies.

Wifi does not work correctly on iPad Mini w/ Retina display
I've found that Wifi does not work properly on the iPad mini w/ Retina display.
Some background: I own three iPads (iPad mini w/ retina display, iPad mini, and iPad 3rd gen), an iPod touch 5th gen, and a Macbook Air, and use them all frequently with my pocket Wifi router.
None of them exhibit any Wifi problems whatsoever except for my iPad mini w/ retina display.
Here are the details:
In the middle of using Wifi with my pocket Wifi router, the Wifi connection will abrubptly drop, then reconnect. After the Wifi reconnects, it is no longer able to connect to the internet (even though Wifi itself is connected).
Once the iPad mini w/ retina display's Wifi gets into this state, the following may or may not restore WiFi temporarily:
Restart the device
Reset network settings
Yet, even if connectevitiy is restored, the problem will happen again within minutes.
When the iPad mini w/ retina display gets into this state, the Wifi on my iPod touch, other iPads, and on my Macbook Air work perfectly fine, so I know the problem is not with my Wifi device or it's connection, but specifically with the iPad mini w/ retina display
Note:
The iPad mini w/ retina display never has any issues with my home or work Wifi networks. The problem only happens when connected to my pocket Wifi device. Yet, all of my other iOS devices and my MacBook Air work perfectly with my pocket Wifi device, therefore I know the problem is not with the pocket Wifi device, but with the iPad mini with retina display.
Solutions:
Resetting the iPad mini w/ retina display to factory settings does not solve the problem
Resetting network settings on the iPad mini w/ retina display does not solve the problem
I have even replaced my original iPad mini w/ retina and got a new one. Yet, the new device exhibits the exact same behavior as the original device.
Conclusion:
I know this is not a hardware problem (since it happened with both my original as well as replacement device).
I know this is not a problem with my pocket WiFi router, since it works perfectly with all of my other iOS devices and MacBook Air.
Therefore, this must be a software / firmware bug with the iPad mini w/ retina display. Apple will need to fix this in a future software update.
Has anyone else seen this problem?I too have experienced this issue over the past two days... I have a 16gb ipad mini retina, for reference. I bought the device one week ago, and had not experience any issues at all until bringing my device to work. I logged into my work's enterprise level wireless network both yesterday and today, maintained normal wifi capabilities for 2-4 hours each day, and was then randomly dropped, both days. I tried hard resets, resetting my network settings, airplane mode, etc. Nothing has worked. I am still offline on my ipad mini retina.
My iPhone 5 is sitting right next to my iPad mini retina. The iPhone is currently connected to the same very network, and has been for the past two years. I have never lost connection on my iPhone's wifi, just my iPad mini retina.
This must be some kind of bug, as it does not sound like a hardware nor network issue.

Recently purchased the new iPad Mini w/Retina Display for teaching/education purposes. I want to use it with a ViewSonic VGA Projector to make use of my purchased iTunes content. (please note not yelling here, just trying to highlight my question) WHAT CONNECTOR DO I USE TO VIEW ITUNES PURCHASED CONTENT VIA A VGA PROJECTOR??? - I know everyone is disgusted with many of the Apple connectors that they offer which does the trick for displaying YouTube or NetFlix content or KeyNote Presentation info, but I need to view my legally purchased iTunes HD content - The error message that I get is as follows - "The Connected Display is NOT authorized to play protected movies" - yet, I purchased these movies? so what is up with that? I want to know what connector I can buy that gets around this issue. Thank you.

GPS signals are separate from and completely unrelated to both the Internet and the cellular telephone network. GPS signals come directly from the GPS satellites. They provide signals that allow GPS receivers to calculate latitude and longitude information. Map software then takes that latitude/longitude info and converts it to land mass, roads, bridges, highways, buildings, etc. Navigation software is "map software on steroids." It goes one step further in that it provides real-time directions to enable you to reach a desired destination.
Most navigation software stores the maps right in the iPad/iPod/iPhone but a disadvantage is that the maps must be periodically updated (perhaps once/year). The Internet is not required to use the system but it is required to update the maps.
Some navigation software gets the maps from the Internet and requires an Internet connection to function but an advantage is that the maps are always up-to-date.
The WiFi+3G/4G iPad and the iPhone both have a GPS receiver. The WiFi-only iPad and the iPod do not and these devices require an accessory. -

there are two parts in boot process - one-before spinning thing, other - spinning thing to desktop.
First part is hardware inits, you can not speed it up. It is for sure longer for your MBP than for her - its normal, more hardware and it is more sophisticated so longer init.
Second part depends on HD (SSD) speed.
Say so - I have M4 SSD and second part is 1 to 2 spins until login window. Should be more or less same for you.
If it is not so - probably something is not good with filesystem and some config files, most probably due to cloning instead of install. Reboot from recovery, repair drive (first - drive as a whole, second - boot partition), then reboot permissions. reboot two times as normal. see what'll happen with timing. -

Hi. Good day to everyone my New iPad with retina display 30 pin connector will not mirror to TV even with divi adapter after software update. Adapter works fine. Or is it a software glitch with IOS 7.04? I've tried resetting and reconnecting nothing seems to work.
That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it... -
Can I use the same adapter for my ipad mini w/ retina display as I use for my iphone 4S?
I have an iPad mini with retina display and an iPhone 4S. Have both the small and large adapters (5W and 12W I believe) that came with the two products. I am traveling abroad and want to know if I can just use the smaller adapter (little cube-shaped one, 5W) for both the ipad and the iphone. OR, can I forgo taking the Apple adapters that were supplied, and instead use one of the travel adapters that has two 2.1-Amp USB ports?
You can use the 5W to charge the iPhone, but if it charges the iPad Mini Retina, it will be slow, so you would have to turn it off and let it sit forever to get charged. If you were going to take just one, take the 12 W on as you can use it to charge both devices without issue.

When will iPad Mini w/ Retina Display get the full phone capabilities?
I had hoped Apple would have been ahead of the curve and add those capabilities. Are you that worried about protecting the IPhone that you allow yourself to fall behind Samsung and others? I have been a strong believer in and supporter of Apple products. In many areas I'm thrilled at your leadership, not with iPad Mini with Retina Display. It is the perfect device to marry phone and ipad (tablet) capabilities.
