IPad Mini Won't Sync With Mac Mini (ios 8.1 OSX 10.6.8)

Problem : IPad Mini connects to iTunes OK, can be seen in iTunes and I can select which movies to sync to it etc.  When I hit the "apply" button after making a change (ie deleting or adding a movie) the sync lasts just a second then the "sync" button remains greyed out, and I can't make them sync.

  • ICal on iPad Air won't sync with Mac Pro

All I want to do is to sync the iCal on my iPad Air with my Mac Pro (both with the latest systems) WITHOUT using the cloud. Why doesn't the sync function really sync when I attach the iPad to the Mac Pro? The dialog says that it sync's, but it doesn't.

Seriously?  There are various reasons why I don't use the Cloud, but I want to sync my calendars on my iPhone with my new MacBook Pro.  So I've been setting up the new machine, and most things work, but I can't get the phone to sync calendars with the MacBook.  The instructions (on the laptop) say to plug in the phone, and go to iTunes, select the device (the iPhone) and then click the Info tab.  But there is no Info tab to click.  I've searched and searched, and cannot find it.  So, now I'm thinking, is this the answer to this problem that Apple hasn't alerted me to?  ...or am I a complete moron for not being able to find it?  The look in iTunes is different from what I'm used to looking at in my old machine (an older MacBook).
Music, iTunes U, and other things seem to sync properly.  I haven't investigated yet to see whether my calendar is syncing up right.
I don't keep up on all the nomenclature:  "Mavericks" refers to the new OS that came with my Macbook (10.9.1)?

  • ITunes on my Mac Mini won't sync with my iPod nano. Any suggestions

Does anyone know why my iTunes won't sync with my iPod nano.  When I follow all the directions, the last step says "Click on Apply", but there is no "Apply" on the screen.

Double check to make sure podcasts and configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes.  This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it.  Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to apply the update changes to your device.

  • IPad calendar fails to synch with Mac mini

How can I fix a recent failure of iPad calendar to synch with Mac mini?  iTunes no longer saks me about ocnflicts between the iPad and the computer.

While waiting, I found the fix in another thread:
Open iSync on main computer with iPad attached and turned on.
    Choose "Reset sync history".
That is all there is to it.  The "Sync" still did not recognize two events scheduled for the same time, one in one sub-calendar on the iPad, and in another one on the Mac Mini.  I wound up with two choir practices, one in blue and one in pink on both devices.  Should it have noticed these and asked me about them?
I also read elsewhere that it messes up the iPad to change an event from one calendar sub-heading to another.  I will avoid doing that in the future.

  • ICal won't sync with iPad, iCal won't sync with iPad

My iCal won't sync with my iPad. Anyone know why? The iPad takes on the iCal but the iCal won't take the iPad entries.

    Hello Squeegeefrog,
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
You mention that iCal (or Calendar on OS X Yosemite) won't sync with your iPad.
Are you using iCloud Calendar? If so, the advice and  troubleshooting steps in these articles can help you sync the calendar on your Mac with your iPad using iCloud:

  • My iPad calendar won't sync with my desktop calendar - any suggestions?

When I write an appointment on my iPad2 calendar, it won't sync with my desktop? Any suggestions? I am on iCloud so when I write an appointment on my desktop it does go to my iPad.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Ipod sync with mac mini

I have a mac mini runnung 10.4.7 and would like to know if I can run my 20G click wheel ipod AND my 8G Nano from the same profile on iTunes with out getting errors???
    Any help/Info would be great...
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

There are a few ways to connect your two iPods to a single library. You can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (Sync Music - Selected playlists in iTunes 7) for the Nano. This would allow you to create a playlist specifically for the Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other larger iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB). You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Another option is to set one or both iPods to manual update and drag whatever you like to them: Managing content manually on iPod

  • Cinema Display 24" won't work with Mac Mini 3.1

I recently purchased a refurbished Apple LED Cinema Display 24" from a buddy.  I'm pairing it with my used Mac Mini 3.1 (2009?). The display port mini connections seem to match.  The USB is plugged in.  The only cable unused is the "macbook power" plug, from the display.  I know the display and CPU both work fine independently. Cinema display seems to power the USB and "Macbook power".  I just can't get any life out of the display.  These 2 devices should work together right?  Is there a sceret power-button that I don't know about?

The video cards that ship with the current Pro have one Display Port and one mini DVI port.
There is an adapter to connect a DVI monitor to a Display Port connection. There is no such thing as an adaptor that will let you connect a Display Port equipped monitor to a mini DVI port on the graphics card.
Final Cut Pro uses dual monitors connected to the same graphics card. Using a twin graphics card setup causes problems with FX Plug FCP plugins, which can cause FCP to fail to launch.
The solution is to find a Graphics card with dual Display Port connectors, (if one even exists) or replace it with a grahics card that uses dual DVI ports, such as the ATI 3870 HD. Of course, the latter means that you cannot connect two 24" Apple Cinema Displays.

  • Samsung 20" Pebble monitor - replacement won't work with Mac Mini

We had no trouble connecting a 20" Samsung SM2032BW monitor to my mum's new Mac Mini and all worked well till the monitor broke (the button fell off...). Samsung cheerfully sent a replacement monitor the next day but the new one - probably reconditioned, but that's fine - gives only the 'check cable signal' message.
Clearly the Mac Mini has no objections to this model of Samsung, what sort of freaky thing might it be? I am advising my mum by phone and have access to her Mac Mini by logmein.com. There might be some other combinations of changing the screen resolution or startup order of all the equipment (eg disconnect monitor, boot up Mac, and then connect and power up monitor). Or should I try to look at the menu on the Samsung monitor and see what options there are?
    thanks...

Hi, thanks for offering some help.
Connection is a DVI cable. I have tried getting my mum to press the menu button but it just gives a message that alternates between analog and digital. She's unable to change the setting to digital.
I have been looking at the user manual online. The monitor seems to be working fine according to the self-test procedure. My guess is that it will work using a VGA cable and I am posting my mum a VGA cable and a DVI/VGA Apple adaptor. It's a little annoying if we can't get it to work using the same cable as we used for the old and identical monitor, but hey, if it works then I should leave it that way.
I'll post again if the VGA connection works, but if you have any other suggestions, I'm interested to hear.
    THanks again...

  • New iPad Air won't sync with iTunes on Windows 8

    Hello,
I have an iPad Air that will not sync with iTunes. That same machine however syncs with my original iPad and iPad 2 with no issues.
Only thing that happens when I connect the iPad Air to the PC is a tile/window pops up like it is looking for photos on the USB device?
I have tried disabling, uninstalling/reinstalling, updating the driver, all with no success. I even factory reset the iPad Air and didn't change the outcome.
I can tell you that the iPad Air is running the latest firmware, my iTunes is the latest version, and Windows 8.1 is up to date, as well as both other iDevices syncing error free.
Any insight anyone could provide on what I could be missing would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Palm Vx won't sync with Mac Address

I am trying to sync my Palm Vx with mac address book. Changes or entries made in the address book show up on the Palm but changes or entries made on the Palm don't show up in the address book. Everything else syncs just fine.
The conduit settings read as follows:

    Memo Pad: Synchronize
    Media: Synchronize
iSync Conduit: See Conduit Settings (Enable iSync for this Palm device is checked)

I'm not sure what I need to do. Any suggestions.
    Additional info:

    Palm Vx
    Mac OS X (10.4.8)
    Address book version 4.0.4
    HotSync Manager V 3.2

I hope its OK to join my problem to this Post...

  • Address book won't sync with mac

I know several people have had similar problems and I have tried their fixes but this problem isn't quite the same either.
I have 2 iphones both 3G (one with a broken screen!) and I want to sync new address book data with G5 for new phone BUT....iphone (with broken screen) has "all contacts" (with duplicates etc but I'll sort that later) and "From my mac" and "mobile me" as groups. However the mac only has the "from my mac" ones. which means there are a difference of around 100 contacts essentially stuck on the iphone in the "mobile me" and "all contacts" groups neither of which appear on the address book on the mac. These contacts are not syncing with mobile me either so can't sync that way.
It seems this is the opposite problem to most as my info stuck on my iphone not on my mac!
Realise I am using old OS which means that mobile me doesn't work fully. But iphone / itunes software up to date. Have tried variouses isync fixes inclusinf resetting sync data with no luck.
    Any thoughts much appreciated.

I hope its OK to join my problem to this Post...

  • My iPad air won't sync with my music in iTunes on my MacBook Pro

I have tried to sync my new iPad air music through iTunes with the music on my MacBook Pro using a direct cable.
A message box opens and says that this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items on this iPad. Select Store and authorize.
I go to store and authorize this computer with my AppleID and then a box opens and says the this computer is already authorized?
It just keeps going around in this circle.
    Any ideas.
