Ipad monitoring app without jail break

i am in need of a monitoring app for my children's ipads and do not want to jailbreak them. i there are several apps that appear perfect for my needs, ie peektab, but they all require jail breaking. i've searched the app store and elsewhere online with no results. can anyone offer any advice or recommendations for such an app? thanks!

I don't know of anything like that but you can set up Restrictions to prevent them from changing settings or purchasing things without consent.

  • I do not have access to wifi - I use cellular data only to access the Internet. How can I download large apps without jail breaking or wifi? Frustrated!!

I have an IPhone 4. Heaps of apps are larger than apples restricted download limit. I made the mistake of upgrading an app, needing to delete it and trying to reinstall only to find that I have to connect to wifi. I don't have the luxury of wifi. I paid for the app so I'm furious.  I'm not too keen on jail breaking. Any one have ideas to work around this..... Why is there a restriction?

Yes that's right - not everyone does, why do you (and obviously apple) assume so? I'm trying not to say anything as condescending as you have but it's getting difficult.
There doesn't seem to be any logical reason for this limit. I'm paying for the data I use so why does apple have a say in what apps I can download.  It's a load of b****.
So thanks for stating the obvious. I know I'm not the only loyal iPhone user to have this problem so hopefully someone clever at apple will pay attention and make some changes soon.

  • Is there a way to download whatsapp for free onto my iPad 2, without jailing breaking it

Is there a way to download whatsapp for free onto my iPad 2, without jailing breaking it

Restting the iPad may reset the Newsstand app as well. One other thing that you can try is to quit Newsstand, restart the iPad and see if that helps.
To quit Newsstand - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit the app by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the Newsstand app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the app. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
BTW .... When you download an app again via the Purchased Tab from the App Store, you are downloading from the cloud. That is one of the features of iCloud. Your app purchases are stored "in the cloud" and downloaded from there. There is no need to sync with your computer.

You don't, as the developer of WhatsApp has not made an iPad version.

  • Are there any apps that install animated lock screens without jail breaking my iPhone 5?

Are there any apps that can install animated lock screens without jail breaking the iPhone 5?

I don't know of any way, except perhaps by using an animated GIF or PNG as your wallpaper. I've never tried it, though.
I don't recommend jailbreaking your phone, voiding your warranty, and risking ruining the phone just for this feature, however - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3743

  • Does that iphone have the ablility to override the silent mode without jail breaking it??

In a corporate enviroment, we need to be able to setup some contacts (emergencies, 911, medical response, security response, etc.)  that would override the silent mode to notify the user(s) of a response needed.  I've been looking for apps and no one seems to be able to do this without jail breaking the phone.  Our corporate policy says we can NOT jail break the phone.  Is this Not allowed in the IOS?
    Thanks

It cannot be installed. It comes pre-installed on every iPhone 4S and later. Maybe it was disabled under Settings > General > Restrictions.

Wasn't SIRI one of the gee-wiz doodads introduced with iOS 6? Cause my boss' 4s w/iOS 5 certainly does NOT have it. And on my i5, the Spanish-speaking SIRI I got turned out female, with all the foibles and vicissitudes....
iOS 6 only added support for the 3rd generation iPad. It was always on the iPhone 4S. Then the same goes for your boss: Maybe disabled in restrictions, or maybe actually an iPhone 4.

  • Hi I bought a factory unlocked phone from Dubai but I'm using it in india. But it still doesn't have FaceTime option in settings . is there a way to get FaceTime on my phone without jail breaking .. Pla help guys

Bought my iPhone 4 from Dubai even though it's a factory unlocked phone I don't have a FaceTime button in setting so I'm wondering is there anyway I can get the FaceTime with out jail breaking my device it's working on iOS 4.3.5 , I read so much about getting it after u jailbreak Ur phone u get FaceTime but can I get it with out jail breaking my device as I'm using it in india please reply guys

iPhones purchased in the UAE do not have FaceTime installed and FaceTime will not appear regardless of where the phone is taken.
Jailbreaking will void your warranty with Apple, may permanently render your phone unusuable, and will eliminate the possibility of getting help from Apple or its forums including this one.
If you want FaceTime on an iPhone, sell that phone and purchase one from one of the authorized iPhone dealers in India.

  • If i have put some paid application without jail breaking the iPad 1 from other system and i took a backup in iCloud , will ill be getting back the same app after restoring the device ?

    Please reply

From what the other system ? If the apps were bought from Apple then as long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them then you should be able to re-download them for free. They should also be part of the backup and restore during iOS 5 update

  • Without jail breaking, how can I shut down all apps on my iPhone?

GPS type apps burn the battery and use data.

So disable location services in settings if you want to stop all location based apps.
You can also double click the home button, the press and hold any app in the recent task bar, and close them completely by pressing on the circled X in the app icons upper left corner.  However, simply having something in the recent task bar does not mean it is running - very few apps can actually do anything in the background.  As far as location based apps, if they are actively running, you should see the location services arrow in the top right of the screen.
Unless you are actively using a GPS/map app (ie. it is active on the screen) it should not be doing anything, so which app do you suspect is causing you a problem?

  • Can we lock an individual application without Jail break?

Please assist on the subject: is any app available in istore which can allow us to lock individual applications. Lock Down is available for jailbroken phones but my interest is for non jail broken phone.

From your iPhone tap "Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions > Enter a 4 digit passcode (Not the same as the unlock code if you are giving the iPhone to a different user such as an employee or child) > Applications". If you want a specific third party app to have a restriction you will need to contact the app developer to make the recommendation.
Also since you have a lot of questions regarding the iPhone 4 here is a useful support page from Apple: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/ Example: Select "Enterprise" on the left menu to read about setting up secure services such as VPN and restricting services on the iPhone.

  • I have 3dparty software wirelessly with a cryptographic authentication system without my consent (seems to be new technology developed by stanford) obtaining ownership of my iPhone 4s software and controlling it with remote device to jail break. Now what?

I have 3rd party software wirelessly injected and used on my iphone with a cryptographic authentication system without my consent (seems to be new technology developed by stanford and apple security is not updated for this technology) obtaining ownership of my iPhone 4s software and controlling it with remote device to jail breaking my phone, adding and removing software, changing settings all from a remotely controled device from different location (I have a Mac address I'd of this device to know for sure). Almost undetectable. When I look at the legal section of my phone it shows a list of all the unauthorized 3rd party software "as is" copyright encrypted on the phone.  This is the most basic way to legally steal software of any kind.  Because of this legalality 3rd party ownership have total control of certain software correlated with hardware use including visualization technology, etc.  most people luckily will never have this happen to them so it's unlikely many readers have not a clue of what I'm saying currently.  Either way, without needing to obtain specific warranty of any kind "as is" copyright control makes system restores not a solution because the source code is not directly encrypted on the actual hardware device only a copy right notice must appear on the specific device 3rd party software validation making it extremely difficult for me to take control of the situation. Apple claims their iOS technology prevents this type copyright obstruction from being possible, however, according to my phone a new form of technology was used developed by Tom wu of Stanford university called the STANFORD SRP AUTHENTICATION TECHNOLOGY which uses Some form of cryptographic authentication system and uses quote "secure remote password" which seems to suceed in hacking iOS apple technology apple claims is not possible to jailbreak an unstolen phone or without the owners consent As well as loading the device with 3rd party copyright Notices to make all of this legalized. My phone shows atleast 30 pages worth of legalized 3rd party copyright permissions! Yesterday my apple care provider labeled me a jailbreaker and refused to look at my legal documented proof which completely blew my mind because it voides my apple care contract I spent 100 on. This employee did not take all factors into consideration and made quick assumptions as well as verbally speaking to me as I'm an automatic criminal. I left the store yesterday with no payed insurance help on a problem I had no control over and couldn't prevent, leaving with voided contracts. This is an apple users worst nightmare and I have spent days researching all of this like i am some kind of lawyer only to be able to use my phone the way it should and spent alot of money on.  I can legally backup any claim I have just wrote above currently and have a large source of data collected to prove apple is wrong in voiding insurance support on this issue. The problem lies in apple avoiding and not wanting to believe their software can legally be obtained ot "hacked". Yet still labeled a jailbreaker basically.. What should I do????? Been to local apple store 3 times and rebooted my phone as well sprint service restore 4 times and spoke with reps twiice on the phone. Spoke with my phone provider who said apple has full control over these matters so they can't help me.  My case is according to apple "still open"...Anyone else heard of this or of Stanford's office of technology licensing? Maybe I need to buy a blackberry again or just use a landline so I can stop being my own lawyer and focus on other productive areas in life instead of this horrible mess. I shouldn't have to prove to apple I not a jailbreaker they should have to prove I'm one before voiding support I desperately need!!

I assume u guys don't understand what open source software is
Yes, I think most of us do understand what open source software is. It sounds as if you don't. Here's some information:
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved forcopyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.
Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-sourcedevelopment and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.
    from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source_software
Yes, Tom Wu of Stanford wrote a paper on something called Secure Remote Access Protocol. It's a form of Asymetric Key Exchange and has nothing to do with hacking anything. It's actually intended to protect data.
