IPad music library inconsistent with iTunes Library

I recently sync my iPad mini 3 with my iTunes library, I noticed the music is not consistent with my iTunes library
I checked by Artist, and for example, when I checked Aerosmith, in my ipad the "Pump" album is not displaying under artist, is showing as unknown artist, and in my itunes library is correct.
the ipad mini 3 has 128 GB so it has enough storage for all my music and the setup is to sync the entire library, I only have 50+ GB of music
Anybody experiencing the same issue?

I had a similar issue. Not sure about what caused the problem, but I think it was something related to folder localizations. When I upgraded to iTunes 9, I changed OS X language from English to my native. Then I noticed almost half of my library was filled with broken links . I checked out iTunes Library.xml file and found that some of the folder names were in English in that file and the real location was my native language localized folder. I'm not sure had NTFS-3g something to do with that bug (my library was on NTFS-3g partition). I got rid off it recently because it caused more problems than solved them.

  • HT1473 How can I transfer my music (not purchased from Itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes library on a Macbook Pro?

I've recently bought a new Macbook Pro and in my Itunes Library everything I have purchased from Itunes is in my new Itunes Library.
However I want to transfer all my music (not purchased from itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes Library.... and I have absoutely no idea how to do this? Also I'm scared to press sync when my ipad is plugged into my Mac incase will loose all this music!
    Help Please!

The iphone/ipad/ipod is not a backup/storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone/ipad/ipod.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

Copy the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods discussed here: iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer.  If you no longer have the old computer and you have to transfer it from your phone, you will have to purchase and use third-party software to extract the music from your phone, such as Touch Copy  or CopyTrans.

I have a similar problem.  I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded  from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted.   I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad.  I must be getting too old for this tech stuff, it gets less user friendly every year.

  • My iPad can't see my iTunes library

This is one of those "it used to work fine til I updated the iPad OS" stories.  My iPad used to see my iTunes library just fine....  After I updated the iPad OS, I get to this point where I click on the Music icon, it shows my iTunes library as being available, and then on the same screen line next to my library is this red circle that shows part of the circle as a thin red line and part as a thick red line, making me think that what the iPad was doing was indexing my music library so it could show it (it is a large library).... the problem is that the red circle never completes the fill in and clicking on my library results in nothing happening.
The library shares fine on my Apple TV and all my PCs, just not on my iPad or iPhone.... both got updated and both stopped working after the update... a fair indication to me that the update has something to do with the sharing going sideways.
Anybody else seen this? is there a fix? am I missing something?

I have the exact problem and have been through many onlineHomeShare setup and troubleshooting directions to no avail. I am operating an iMac in Mavericks OS 10.9.3 and iPhone 5 & an iPad both in iOS 7.1.1
I have a large iTune Music Library consisting of 498 GB with 62,000 songs.
I have removed firewalls, verified no ports were blocked, etc., etc.
Any further suggestions will be most welcome.

  • HT3819 How do I share just one movie (not my entire library) from my itunes library with an authorized computer using home sharing?

How do I share just one movie (not my entire library) from my itunes library with an authorized computer using home sharing?

    many thanks.
    That should be possible.
From his library connect to your library via Home Sharing.
Select the name of the shared library in the source pane of your itunes, and click on the wee disclosure triangle to the left of the name of the library. Does "Films" appear beneath the name of the library?
    Here's a screenshot of what I mean.
Select "Films". In the right-hand pane you should see the item you want to transfer. Just select that item, and click "Import".
Use the same basic technique to get one or a few songs from your library transferred to his library. (The only difference is that you would have "Music" selected instead of "Films".
If you don't want him to have access to other items in your library, you could just switch Home Sharing off on his library after you've done the transfers.

  • How do I "link" my music folders to the iTunes Library?

I have recently upgraded my computer. I have formated my disk and installed a new XP, Office, iTunes etc.
Now I have all my music files on a disk D: and my iTunes at C: but I can't manage to "add"/"link" my music folders to the iTunes Library. After iTunes installation, I have changed the path at Edit/Preferences/Advanced/iTunes Music Folder Location to D: ... but the iTunes Library keeps "empty".
    Help please !!!
    Thanks.

    Goncalo,
Changing the location of the iTunes Music folder will only affect songs you add with iTunes in the future.
To add the songs you already have, use the File menu > Add Folder to Library ... option and select the folder that contains your music in the navigation pop-up window that appears.

  • How can i copy songs from another library to my itunes library with homesharing?

How can i copy songs from another library to my itunes library with homesharing?  I see the other libraries, but cannot drag the songs into my library.  The help window says to use the "show menu" at the bottom, but I don't have that menu with itunes 11.

You can do this in 2 ways.
    1) You can enable the sidebar and you can drag and drop like you used to be able to.  To turn on Sidebar in iTunes 11, go to View > Show Sidebar
    2) Another way is to connect to your Home Share from the drop-down menu from the left (where it says Music) and select your Home Share.  Once you are connected to your Home Share, select Music and you should see a button that says "All Items" and on the right, you should see the Import button.  To copy, select the songs you want to import and then click on Import.

  • I accidentally erased music somehow from my itunes library, how can i get it back?

i accidentally erased music somehow from my itunes library, how can i get it back?  I'm not sure how I did it, but I do know something has been wierd ever since.  i remember using it and arranging songs, and then, bing!  Songs were missing.  Please help!
Not quite sure what info you need to answer this.   I dont have all my music synced to icloud unfortunately...at least not that i'm aware of.

You either have an incredibly complex computer setup or I think you are confusing terminology here.  If you have iTunes set to share your library with others in your iTunes preferences then other computers in the area will see it as an item when they are running their iTunes and have it set to check for shared libraries.  Your husband is probably seeing this when running iTunes on his computer.  You can disable this sharing on your computer and/or he can set his not to pick up shared libraries.
By the way, an iTunes account is something you log into when you want to buy something from Apple.  On your computer it is simply your iTunes collection or your iTunes application.  So you need to turn off sharing in your iTunes application preferences.
Your husband is seeing "his" iTunes collection when running iTunes, but it is possible he doesn't have anything in it if it is a brand new computer.

Restore the device from the backup created.
If no backup exists, there is nothing to recover.
