Hi,
Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Restart the iPad.
More help here for Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
Also my home button has been very sketchy lately. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
Probably a good idea to get that repaired. If you just purchased this iPad you have 14 days from purchase for an exchange or refund.

  • Airplay Connection issues - An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "x". The network connection failed.

I recently upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion, and got my Airport Express (802.11g) out of the closet and set up an AirPlay network for my speakers.
All worked well for the first while, but recently I've been having an inconsistent problem with this: "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “my network name”. The network connection failed."
Since it came up, more often than not, I can't connect.
I can play without issue from my iPhone, and from my iPad.
I looked around these forums, and found a couple threads dealing with this from 2011, with no clear resolution to them.  No one with Mountain Lion seems to complain about it, though a few people mused about whether Mountain Lion might fix the problem.
I'm running iTunes 10.7(21), and don't recall doing any upgrades to it that might have brought this about, though I can't say for sure.
My Airport Express is updated to firmware version 6.3, which I believe is the last one issued for the 'g' Airport Express.
My wireless network runs off an Airport Extreme 802.11n (Second Generation) with verion 7.6.1 firmware.
My Mac has 10.8.2 on it right now.
Hopefully some of that info might help sort this out - any replies greatly appreciated!

One quick update.  A workaround that was mentioned in one post did seem to work - if music is started via the Remote app it seems to connect fine.
And I'm not sure if I dare upgrade to iTunes 11 given the firestorm of bad impressions I see, including some that relate to Airplay functions...

  • Network connection failed

It says network connection failed.  Please check network connection & try again.  I am connected to the network, but it won't let me use messaging or FaceTime

    Hi Friend,
First, Where are you located and what country did you buy your phone?  Some countries have restricted facetime, ie middle east, UAE.
Try to reset your network settings, double check the Restrictions settings, check the Safari settings...
If not, you have some problem with iinternet connection. Look at airplane mode is off, if your iPad recognizes WiFi connection or not, check the Restrictions settings, if other device also faces the same problem with internet connection
Check if you signed in Facetime with your Apple ID and password (Settings>>Facetime).
Check if you have signed iCloud in.
Check that FaceTime is not disabled in general/restrictions. If that isn't the problem try changing dns servers on your iPad.
Go to Contacts app and select the person you want call then tap Facetime.
Change your address for your currently location. If not works, change it for your native country or for United States (yes, some users have posted in foruns that after change the location to U.S. Everything works at a glance).
If not works, check if the person who you are trying to Facetime has signed in his/her Facetime too.
Most of times the Facetime calls work calling from your friend's email address instead of mobile number. So try to call your friend both ways (his/her mobile number and his/her email address).
    If still not working:
    1. Go to the Settings App.
    2. Tap on Wi-Fi
    3. Your chosen network will be ticked. Tap on its white arrow over a blue circle button to its right
    4. Tap on DNS
    5. Replace the current information with 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4
    6. Try visiting a website with Safari to see if this works
    7. Try registering iMessage / FaceTime
If still not working, go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> Set Automatically: ON (Yes date time setting has been known to cause issue).
    Hope it will be helpful

Installed latest version of iTunes, now I cannot play music through my Airport Express. I'm seeing the message "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "living room". • Remote Speaker (AirTunes) Error - "the network connection failed"

I am getting a strange error message when I try to stream music through an AirTunes remote speaker. iTunes tells me this:
*An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "NN". The network connection failed.*
I can't say what has changed for this error to occur. Last time I used the system it worked fine, now it doesn't. I do know I have upgraded iTunes a couple of times since, though.
I am connecting to an 802.11g AirPort Express running firmware version 6.3.
Both our computers (MacBook & MacBook Pro) run Mac OS version 10.5.8.
In my system, the AirPort Express functions solely as a wireless speaker client, as the WLAN network itself is based around an 802.11n AirPort Extreme.
The AP shows a green light, and reports no problems in AP Utility.
When I change the device's "iTunes Speaker Password" setting in AP Utility, iTunes in both our computers immediately reflect the change, so apparently the various parts in the system do speak to one another just fine. They just can't transmit music, for some reason...
Anyone have any idea what might be going on, here?

I have a similar problem. I use AE(g) with a Powerbook G4 and always get this error, which kind of bugs me, since all the settings appear to be correct. Unlike you though, I didn't make it work, not a single time — closing lid, opening and closing iTunes, resetting AE, yet no luck. Tried it all only with current versions of software.
However, the AE does sense when I unplug the speakers, since it first says "no speakers found", and then "the network connection failed". Strange is that the error has no number, nor does Console provide any clues. Sometimes it is pretty annoying when OS X just says "error". What error, where, why... Feels like good ol' windows times.

  • Adobe version checker : Network connection failed

    Hello all,
I recently wanted to try the new "Adobe Mobile Packager" to publish a FL application.
I succeeded in making the .sis file, with an empty certificate. When installing the .sis application, all went fine.
But when I wanted to launch it, it asked me to install the "new" other "Adobe Version Checker" application... but when it tried to connect, i have a great "network connection failed" prompting to me. and the application could not be launched.
Any idea to solve this ?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Thanks for the feedback.
The device is a Nokia N95 8Go. The network I want to connect to is SFR
    (French Network).
I didn't try with another network like Orange or Bouygues, I can try
this and report you the result.

  • An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker. The network connection failed.

I can't get my itunes to connect to the remote speakers via airport express anymore  - I did not change any settings - but did update iTunes to 10.2.2 and now things are not working and I get his message - "An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker “Living Room”. The network connection failed."
Does anybody have a fix for this problem?
    thanks

Same problem for me. Ever since I upgraded to 10.6.3 and iTunes 9.1, about once per week I'll get the error message when trying to get iTunes/Airtunes to connect to my older Airport Express (running firmware 6.3) "An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker <insert speaker name here>. The network connection failed." (No error codes are given.)
Airport Utility sees the offending Airport Express just fine (and there's a green light on said AE).
Curiously, a newer AE-n, elsewhere in the house (running firmware 7.4.2) does NOT exhibit this problem.
Simply restarting the offending AE does NOT clear the problem. Restarting the main router - a Time Capsule DOES clear the problem. Alternatively, toggling off the Airtunes functionality on the offending AE, restarting it, then toggling Airtunes back on, and finally restarting it DOES clear the problem (as an alternate to restarting the router). No matter how the problem is cleared, it returns within a week. It's frustrating that the problem cannot be recreated immediately.
Probably not relevant, but the computer on which I'm running iTunes (a Mac Mini) is connected to my TC via ethernet, not wirelessly.
I've tried the suggestion of disabling ipv6. No effect.
I fear the only solution will be to scrap my older Airport Express and replace it with a newer n-model. But before I resign myself to the $100 fix, any more ideas?

No there not closed all the Resistance series games are still online Resistance 2 is actually the busiest co-op and unranked mainly.  As for the OP try rebooting your network equipment and also check your routers firmware is up-to-date particularly if it's a Netgear, Resistance games can be picky with some routers had trouble myself in the past.

  • Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) - All network connections fail at least once a day

    Hi,
We have Jabber for Windows 9.1(3) running, with the MSI 3.2 installed as well.
At least once a day my computer stops making network connections (Outlook gets disconnected, Internet Explorer cannot connect to Google, Chrome also fails). When I shut down and restart Jabber all network IO resumes.
    Has anyone seen this behavior?
I've made two problem reports for this. Is anyone interested?
    Regards,
    Erik Tamminga
PS. Server side we're running all 9.1 versions.

We had the same issue and logged a TAC case, and the final result was to uninstall media services as mentioned above. Obviously now you no longer have desk phone video.
The new 9.2 beta has a new media service version, and the rollout of the new 9.2 client is mid march I believe, so hopefully this rectifies the problems, because if it doesn't I think this would not be a good thing for Jabber as a product unfortunately.
    Cheers

  • Juniper Network Connect fails in Mac OS 10.10

    Hello,
I am trying to use Juniper Network Connect on my MacBook Pro running OS 10.10 and Java 8 (Update 25) to connect to my corporate network.
However, each time I log into my corporate network through Mozilla Firefox and attempt to establish a remote desktop connection the following message appears as Network Connect attempts to load, "An error occurred while extracting one of the Network Connect components."
Mozilla Firefox is recommended by my company.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?
I have encountered Network Connect problems over the years (and similar error messages) and I am wondering if this message is related to OS and/or Java upgrades?
    Regards,
    Ben

    https://coderwall.com/p/_gpxpq/workaround-for-failing-juniper-network-connect-in -yosemite
    Text of site:
The current version 8.0.7 of Network Connect and the latest Yosemite 10.10.1 don't like each other: you simply can't connect.
A workaround (and it should be nothing more if you care) is to allow unsigned kernel extensions (which are unsupported/disabled in Yosemite by default):
    sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"
    (reboot afterward) To revert this:
    sudo nvram -d boot-args
Looks like this is also helpful for some other problematic extensions.

  • I am currently having problems accessing a network connection.  I have reset my IPAD network connections and am still having a problem.  I know that it is not my network because I can access the internet on my laptop computer.

I am having problems opening any email or apps on my IPAD 2.  It says there is no network connection but I don't have any problems accessing the internet on my laptop.

In any event, if your OS X version is 10.7.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion:
    Lion: AirPort Utility 5.6.
If your OS X version is 10.5.x or 10.6.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.5.3:
Leopard, Snow Leopard: AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
After you install the appropriate version of AirPort Utility, open it. The program will be located in your Utilities folder, which in turn is found in your Applications folder.
To open the Utilities folder, go to the Finder and select "Utilities" from the Go menu:
AirPort Utility 5.6 looks like this:
... but make sure you use the version of AirPort Utility you just downloaded.
Launch AirPort Utility and select your Time Capsule. Click Manual Setup, then the Guest Menu tab, then you can elect to disable the guest network, or to establish whatever security settings you want.
The window looks somewhat like this:
If your version of AirPort Utility does not look anything like that, you are probably not using the one you just downloaded. Find it and start over.
When you are finished configuring your Time Capsule, click Update and allow the Time Capsule to restart.

Just a guess, but that looks to be the location for Apple Java 6, which is not replaced when you upgraded to Java 7, rather Oracle stores it in a different location.
It's also possible that Juniper has not updated their software for Java 7.  I know that's true for at least one other VPN vendor.

  • Networking: "Connection Failed" Warning

    Hello!
I have a G5 tower that I use as a main system in my imaging business. The router is connected to it. I have five other Macs in my office, all wireless. There are no issues with any of the wireless devices reaching the internet, or being recognized by the network and communicating. The problem is with the main computer, as I cannot connect to ANY of the wireless units. They show up in the side panel, but as soon as I click one I get the "Connection Failed" warning. This problem is killing me, because I need to set up network rendering for computer graphics.
I hope all you brilliant minds out there can find a solution!
    Thank you,
    Hal
