IPad no longer connecting to mail

My iPad mail app is no longer connecting to my iCloud mail account.
It connects fine to gmail (through the mail app) so I know it's working!
I've tried deleting iCloud, rebooting the iPad and reinstalling iCloud but no joy.
Any ideas please?

Just spent an hour on the phone with Apple Support.
The first contact was useless - reading from a script, couldn't think past the script.  She wanted to reset the iPhone and iPad - which I refused to do - too many problems with subscritions afterwards.
She bounced me to a Supervisor - while I was on hold, I created a new iCloud account and set it up on my iPhone - it worked without problems.  The Supervisor immediately recognized that meant the issue was on their end, not on my iPhone or iPad.  He put the account in "troubleshooting mode" - took it out of "troubleshooting mode" - put it back in "troubleshooting mode" - no sucess.  He then put me on hold to contact their Engineers.
While on hold this time - I went to iCloud.com - logged into the troubled account - created a rule to bounce all incoming email from the troubled account to the account I just set up and now all my email is coming into the second account!
Supervisor gets back on the line - I tell him what I did.  He said at least that's a work around for now.  They were going to investigate more - should get back to me in 4 - 24 hours.  Until then my work around is working.  I've tested it multiple times from different email accounts - it's bouncing email to where it should be.
Turned off Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, etc on the second account - just left Mail on.  Also left the troubled account up and running on my iPhone so I can see when it / if it starts working again.  Turned off the troubled accounts Mail on the iPad though.
As a note - I am a LEGACY Mac.com subscriber.  I have gone from Mac.com to MobileMe to iCloud now.  I noticed through all of this that suddenly my login info on my iOS devices has swithced from [email protected] to [email protected]  I pointed that out to the Supervisor - he thought that might have something to do with it.
Are the rest of you that are having problems also old Mac.com users?

  • Ipad no longer connects to wifi at home

My iPad (first generation) no longer connects to my wifi network at home.
I don't have the possibility to "forget this network" in the options from the menu.
The only thing I can do is re-typing the router password, which I know is correct, but still does not work...
    Please help me!
    Thanks you in advance!

If resetting the router does nothing, reset the iPad. Hold down Home and Sleep buttons together until the Apple logo is displayed, then let go. Again, no data or settings are lost.

  • Ipad no longer connects to internet after using remote app for apple TV

I can use the Remote app on my Ipad to connect to Itunes library through my apple TV but as soon as I do that, I can no longer connect to the internet on my Ipad.  The network stays connected on my Ipad but no internet.  I have to recycle the router (airport extreme) and power off the Apple TV.  Once I do that I can then connect to the internet again.  I am using a Mac Pro as my desktop with airport extreme as my router.  All software is up to date.  Appreciate any thoughts anyone might have.  Its a pain to use that litte remote for my Apple TV.

My question: Is it normal for the internet connection to switch from an Apple Network to another network?
    No.
You are probably connecting to a neighbor's wireless network. Unplug your base station and see if the network remains.

  • IPad no longer connects remotely to my iMac

I got Splashetop Remote Desktop for the iPad the other day and it worked great for a few minutes but then it simply stopped working. It would no longer connect to my iMac remotely. But the worst part of it is now none of the remote apps on my iPad are working either. I'm talking about apps like Air Video, Remote HD, Rowmote, and Mobile Mouse. None of these apps will connect to my Mac anymore when they worked perfectly before. Same goes for the Apple Remote App with home sharing turned on. Interestingly, the same apps still all work perfectly on my iPod Touch (minus Splashtop Remote Desktop) which I don't have for the iPod Touch).
Clearly Splashstop Remote did something to the connection between the iMac and the iPad because everything was working before I tried it for the first time.
I've erased Splashetop Remote from the iPad and uninstalled its server application from the iMac. I even did a full reset of the iPad followed by a restore from a few days ago. Still nothing. Wifi on the iPad has been working fine the entire time as I can surf the web, check email, Twitter, etc... So it's just remote access apps tat won't work anymore even though essentially the same apps on my iPod Touch still do work. Firewall is off and I don't use antivirus software.
It might help to add that all the remote apps on the iPad keep timing out. Also, occasionally Rowmote quickly flashes some sort of "GFL Socker Error" message. It flashes so fast it's impossible to read it so the first part may be wrong. I definitely saw the words Socket and Error though. It's really the only thing I have to go on.
I've also repaired permissions on my iMac.
I would really appreciate it if anybody could provide any help. I've already worked on this issue for a few days and so far the developers of Splashtop Remote hace been no help. I don't know if this is an IOS or OSX issue or both?

  • 10.4.7 - can no longer connect to mail server (SSL)

After installing 10.4.7 I can no longer connect to my mail server.
My mail server uses SSL on port 993 - but when I look at the error message when mail tries to connect I get the following:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account <accountname> or try again.
The server error encountered was: The connection to the server <servername> on port 0 timed out."
Why is it trying to connect on port 0?

Found the solution in MacFixIt - unchecking the SOCKS proxy fixes the problem.

Try going to Settings/General/Reset (Last option at bottom) Reset Network Settings. That should do the trick.

  • My Ipad no longer connects to the internet

    Hello GrizRich,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
I would recommend 2 articles for this, first iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
Note: You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your desired network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
And then this section at the bottom if needed:
Unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi
If you are using a public or commercial network that requires a login or subscription, see this article for more information.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap >.
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, see this article.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.
And if the device providing the 4G Wifi, then this article I would look at next if the issue persists:

  • TS1398 my ipad no longer connects to my wifi and says the password is incorrect when I know it is correct as it is working on my computer and other ipad

I was able to connect to wifi at both school and home on my ipad 5.  However, now I am not able to connect to the wifi at home as the ipad states I am putting in the wrong password.
However, I know the password is right since I used it for my computer and other ipad which are connected to the internet.
Can anyone please help?  I have already tried resetting the settings several times and the wifi settings will not let me forget this network.

If you reset all settings, that should "forget the network" for you. But when you say that you already tried resetting the settings, were you able to reset them? In other words, were all of the settings reset when you tried it?

  • Ipad no longer connecting to TV...help!

With no update performed in the last week our ipad and iphone (both running IOs 7.0.1) no longer were connecting to the TV through a composite AV cable. I've read of many people having this issue with netflix 5.0 (which we have) but it's not only netflix that isn't going through even videos that we own are not coming through. Is it safe to assume this is just the cable? Or with all ther other issues I've seen in postings is this an issue with the updated software? Any help is great thanks!

  • IPad no longer connecting to HP Photosmart Plus B210 after changing black tore cartridge

I had my iPad nicely connected to my HP Photosmart Plus B210.  However, after changing the black tore cartridge I am no longer able to print from the iPad.  The printer statur report and the wireless network test both show everything is OK.  Most of the time the iPad recognizes the printer and accepts the print command without any error messages.  However, sometimes it returns the message that the printer is offline even though it found the printer earlier.  Any solutions?  Thanks

I too have a B210 and the IPAD has printed marvelously via WIFI for about a half a year. Now, when the IPAD print radio button appears it still lists the B210 is available as if all is good but the printer doesn't come to life when the print command is issued. Printer sez it is connected to the router, too. I have reset the router and the printer a number of times and the printer sez everything is good. But, I can't print any longer from the IPAD. bummer.

Since downloading the newest iTunes it now says my ipod and ipad are no longer recongised and that if this problem continues to uninstall the software and redownload which I have done several times but it still doesn't work.. HELP!

    Hi aimsy0x,
From your post I see that your devices are not being recognized in iTunes, and in attempt to troubleshoot the issue, you have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes.  There are more troubleshooting steps I'd like you to go through in order to resolve this issue, which are outlined in the article linked to below.

  • Apple TV and iPhones/iPads no longer connecting

    Good morning,
Probably going to pretty lengthly here but we have been having some major issues here.
Since September we have been having issues with our iPhones, iPads, along with our apple tvs not connecting and syncing up.
At the time we blamed it on AT&T selling out to Frontier in our area but now we are in February and still having issues.
We have a wireless network in the house that we had for 5 years prior to Frontier taking over, when issues began to arise of air play not working, not being able to use home sharing as it could not locate our iMac, or loading times always timing out, we contacted Frontier many times they even sent a tech out but everything proved fine.
At the time everything in our house was wireless and we would loose connection to the internet when surfing or doing homework on any device we were using.  I ended up hard wiring my desktop and Mac Mini and have not had any issues since.
We figured since the router we were using was about 6 to 7 years old we would up grade to a new one and maybe that would get rid of the problem.  So I purchased the Linksys AC1900.  set it up the same way as the old one an off we went.   Everything worked fine for a day or two and then right back to nothing working.
Again called frontier and techs came out and we checked everything and nothing was interfering or not functioning properly.  I have even ended up hard wiring a few of the apple tvs, but again same time out issues or no connectivity.
Everything is running on the latest software.
We are now at the point of thinking it is apple that is our issue, We do not have any windows computers or devices to test this theory on but a lot of news going around stating apple is having many issues with wifi and connectivity issues.
I did not want to contact apple just yet as I have spent enough time on the phone with people trying to figure this issue out.
If anyone is able to give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello JefferyPNichols,
It sounds likeyou are unable to either use Home Sharing between your devices or Airplay. If the former, I would recommend you use this article to help you troubleshoot the issue:
    Troubleshooting Home Sharing
If you are talking about Airplay instead, use this article for iOS devices:
Resolve issues with AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring from iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
And this one for iTunes on your Mac:

  • My iPad no longer connects to my home wifi

I have an iPad 3 with wifi and cellular connectivity. The iPad is always left on and connected to my home wifi. This morning I picked it up and launched safari but it wasn't connected to my wifi. It can locate the the network, but will not connect. I've reset my network settings, removed the network and then added again with the pass code for my wifi but still no joy. I don't think it's a problem with my wifi or router as my iPhone connects without any issues! Any ideas?

Found post on here that like calling the oldest tech support line ever it said switch off your router for 10 minutes and try again. As I was at the end of my tether I thought I'd give it a try.
It worked perfectly, now my iPad 3 reconnects and my iPhone 4S hasn't been affected either. Result!
FYI router is a Netgear and iAd and iPhone are both running IOS 6.0.1

  • Updated iOS on iPad, no longer connects to WiFi.  Have done a reset.?

Updated iPad iOS, lost WiFi connection.  Have tried a reset, no luck.  Any ideas?

in Settings > Wi-Fi make sure Wi-Fi is turned on
does the network (1) appear immediately under the Wi-Fi line, but just not actually connect, or (2) show under Choose a Network, or (3) not show up at all?
if (1) is yes, the touch the little blue i beside the device and then choose Forget this Network
now, for (1), (2) and (3) reset your iPad (may not be necessary, but no harm):
Hold both the Home button and the Power button down for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
Let go promptly when it appears.  Wait 30 seconds or so for your iPad to restart.  No information or settings will be lost.
now for all go back to Settings > Wi-Fi and see if your Network is listed under Choose a Network
    if yes, choose it
if no, turn your modem or router off and then on, or do a reset of them, then see if it appears
