Ipad no longer Syncs with my Imac

Since updating my iPad 1 to software version 5 it will no longer sync with my 18 month old Imac running OS X 10.6.8. It starts trying to sync but after a couple of minutes it tells me that the "Sync session failed to Start". Any ideas.

Syncing of data such as Photo Stream, Calendars and Contacts (as opposed to music) using iTunes has been removed in Mavericks (the framework, SyncServices, which enables this has been removed). You are expected to sync your data using iCloud.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.

  • IPad won't sync with old iMac with new hard drive.

The new drive recognizes the iMac, and the photos on the iPad were successfully imported into iPhoto, but 2 home videos on the iMac will not transfer. I have tried to manually drag and drop, different cords and ports, over wi-fi, etc... The Summary box says the iPad has never backed up to this computer, but when I try to do that, it tries and then stops with no error message. The Movies tab has the two videos I want to transfer, but the sync button is gray. I have hard rebooted the iPad and restarted the iMac. Also deauthorized and reauthorized the iMac. I suspect that somehow the iPad is not recognizing the new hard drive. Is that possible? Any suggestions? Thank you for your help!

I don't mean the latest version of iOS.  I mean the latest version of iTunes on your Mac.
Open iTunes on your Mac.  Click Help and then Check For Updates

  • My iPad doesn't sync with my iMac

My iPad doesn't show up in iTunes when connected to my iMac and I can't sync.  I also have iCloud hooked up on both with all the right boxes checked.

What version of itunes are you using?

  • Blackberry Bold Will No Longer Sync with Caldav imac Calendars on MobilMe

On May 11th, Apple migrated their ICal calendar to MobilMe on their cloud server which allows one to sync calendar entries to multiple Macs, IPhones, and IPads. This has resulted in not being able to sync your Blackberry to your ICal calendar entries, unless you also make duplicate calendar entries to a local calendar on your device which wold be very time consuming. Does anyone know if RIM is working on an upgrade to the BB Desktop Manager software that will allow us Mac users to sync to our "Cloud" MobilMe calendar?

If you haven't already solved your problem and you use Facebook on your Blackberry, you might try this solution.  It worked for me.

  • Google contacts no longer syncing with iMac

My Google Contacts no longer sync with my iMac running OS X 10.6.8. Several other threads on this, but no answers that work for me. I know Google no longer supports the exchange style sync and I've tried the CardDAV procedures with no success. Can someone give me procedures that will work for the Mac Address Book?
    Thanks

Yes I am aware of that and already tried following their instructions. Doesn't work on my iMac. Pretty much every user that has had success with that procedure was using an iPhone or iPad. I'm thinking there is a difference with the Mac for some reason. When setting up the CardDAV with the iMac it states "Address Book couldn't discover the account setting for the CardDAV server "google.com". Make sure the user name and server address are correct, then click Create." I've tried my username is just my username and I've tried it as my full email address. I followed other threads suggesting to clicking SSL and trying a couple different port numbers, but still no success.

  • My contacts and calenders on my IPAD not syncing with my IMAC

My contacts, mail and calenders on my IPAD are not syncing with my IMAC properly.  My IPhone seems to sync with IPAD okay.
Also, on my IPhone I have subfolders for a second email account, but on my IPAD and IMAC I can only access subfolders from one email account.
    Please help

For Mail in order to have subfolders the email account must be an IMAP account. Check on the iPad in Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > the email account in question to make sure the correct account type is selected.
If your ad is not syncing your Contacts and Calendars to the other devices go to Settings and make sure iCloud is on and you're signed in to the same iCloud account as on your other devices. Then make sure that Contacts and Calendar syncing is turned on.

  • After my ipad WIFI upgraded to 5.0.1, I can no longer sync with my PC?

Recently, the new wireless upgrade worked wonderfully.  My ipad is correctly upgraded as of 11/13/11.  For the life of me, I can't figure out why my ipad will no longer sync with Itunes.  I realize that iCloud enables me to push various backups wirelessly, but I still want to sync with my iTunes in order to add playlists and content that will not reside on the cloud.
When I say that it will no longer sync with itunes, I mean that I cannot get either an iPad or iPod Touch to show as being connected or synced with any number of apple USB cables conntected to my PC and iTunes.  Hard resets, computer reboots...since my upgrade, I can no longer connect these devices.  Can anyone tell me why I can't sync?
    Thank you in advance

Minor update:  I have multiple PC's in my office.  This same iPad and other apple devices properly work and sync with their connection to this other computer.  Both computers are running the 64bit iTunes and both have Windows 7 64bit OS running on both machines.  I tried deactivating firewalls and even deleted the iTunes with a fresh installation with no avail.
Something is keeping my Apple mobile devices (iPods, iPads) from being recognized within iTunes.  However, they all are properly recognized by my PC.

  • I just updated my iPad 3 to ios 7.02 and can no longer sync with iTunes on my computer running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion, which may cause any number of apps on my computer to no longer work. Although I may consider purchasing a new laptop

I just updated my iPad to IOS 7.02 and unfortunately can no longer sync with my MacBook running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion as this may cause any number of apps on my Macbook not to work at all or malfunction. Also my MacBook is 5 years old, and I was thinking about purchasing a new computer. I would like to decide when rather than be forced though. Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around? At the moment I do not subscribe to the cloud, and it looks like that is the only way I can back up my iPad now.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.
    $19.99 - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

  • IPad will no longer sync with iPhone when using iMessages

I'm not sure what happened but my iPad no longer syncing iMessages with my iPhone. All have been signed in with Apple ID, all have the same telephone number and email address selected. I'm at loss what to do.  Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue with my ipad 3 with retina display and my iphone 5 (both iOS 8.1.2).  Text messages received on my iphone will be forwarded to my ipad, however imessages will not. Also, some contacts that i can Imessage on my iphone (blue contacts) show up as grey, red or green on my ipad and it wont allow me to imessage them anymore.
I have tired all of the apple support remedies to no avail, including a full reset of both devices. No luck yet. I hope someone can figure this out for both our sakes.

  • Torch will no longer sync with iMac

I had set it up to sync with my iMac. And it was working. But now it does no longer work and I do not know why or what has changed.
I basically use my bbry calendar for everything and I have my iMac calendar which gets updates from my kids' schools' and other calendars. I then sync the two and have a complete set of a calndear on both my bbry and my iMac. But now the two no longer sync.
Same happens with my contacts which no longer sync.
Also, when I am in the bbry desktop manager and have the calendar clicked it says: "There are no writebale Calendars available for syncing on this computer. Please launch iCal or Microsoft Entourage and create a new writebale calendar."
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you

    Hey Chamakiotes,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the post.
Follow the steps in this KB article to resolve the calendar synchronization error: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB20342
With regards to the contact synchronization, do you get any specific errors?  Are you synchronizing the contacts to Entourage or just Mac Address Book?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

a friend told me that he wants my os x cd for my macbook pro to upgrade his imac.
The discs that come with your Mac are "machine specfic" and cannot be used on another Mac.

  • My iPad camera photos will wirelessly sync with my iMac and iCLoud photo stream, but the videos do not, is USB connection the only way to transfer videos or is there also a wireless method?

My iPad camera photos will wirelessly sync with my iMac and iCLoud photo stream, but the videos do not, is USB connection the only way to transfer videos or is there also a wireless method?

Videos are not included with the Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
There is not a wireless method for importing videos from the iPad's Camera Roll.
