IPad No Sound at All! Help!!!
I checked the mute button, the settings and still no sound. I double clicked on the home button and swiped left and it shows no little circle to turn the volume up or down, my volume button don't work, my youtube, music and games don't have a sound also. Only sound it makes is when I go to my settings and go to notifications and it makes a sound when trying to adjust the apart volume. Nothing works what so ever. I restarted it, rebooted it. Nothing works, please help.

Basically Iv got a iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 and I dropped it and broke the back I got the back fixed and now to find my speakers or mic don't work at all the bottom one crackles some times Iv blown it out with air and still no luck ??? :(
Seems like your choices are to either restore as new (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137) or have the Apple Store evaluate it to see if it's a hardware issue first. If you choose to restore as new be sure to save any Camera Roll photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and backup your contacts, either in a supported client (Outlook 2003/2007/2010, Mac Address Book, etc) or using an app like My Contacts Backup, before wiping your phone since these are not included in your iTunes library. Since updating to iOS 6, my 4th gen iPod touch, and my 3rd gen iPad has sound in and out. Sometimes it's on, and then all of a sudden, no sound. I've tried everything from restarting to fully resetting each one starting fresh, but nothing. Please help.
I have exactly the same problem. I have tried almost everything and I am nowhere near an Apple shop as I am working in Africa.

Since I updated to ios7.0.2 my iPad 4 has lost all sound. I have no sound on any function or app since I updated. My battery is also draining much faster than before the update. Can anyone help me with a fix for the sound issue?
A number of people have complained of this happening to their iPads. The only recommendation I've seen is to shut down and restart the device. Do this by holding down the power button and "Home" button together for ~ 10 seconds. A red slider will appear asking if you want to shut down. After shutting down the iPad, restart by holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo appear.

Hi everyone, so for a couple of weeks now my iPad 2 has had no sound apart from alarms and alerts, so I know that there is nothing wrong with the sound chip. I've tried restarting my holding down the home and power button, I've reset all settings, I've checked the mute and lock rotation switch and I've double clicked home to get to the task bar and unmuted it. The volume buttons don't do anything at all and when I got to the task bar or to watch videos there is no volume adjustment bar to change the sound.
Please help I've done everything that other forums have said and none of them have worked!!
Also I don't have the airplay icon on the task bar or on my iPad at all.
Thanks guys, I hope you're able to help me!!Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I've upgraded to OS 10.8.2 and my Bowers and Wilkins MM-1 Speakers were working fine until today, and now they won't play any sound at all, even though iTunes shows the audio is playing. I've tried both the headphone jack and the USB port. Please help! I don't want to have to be stuck using my internal speakers!

Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &

i am getting no sound from all of the game apps on my ipad. i.e. angry birds, scrabble, but I can still get sound from the ipod app. also I can hear the games if I am using earphones
You have your mute button on. In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side. If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad. If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear. Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side. Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

I recently downloaded the offered update to iPad. Now I have now sound and all my games are slow. Plus, anything with a video while surfing can't be viewed. Does anyone know hat happened and how to fix it?
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

If it's showing the connect to iTunes screen then you will need to do that.
But Apple don't provide any method to update the first gen iPad to iOS 5 (nor do they support downgrading the iOS version). -

It sounds like you are getting static on both the receiver and the speaker when you make a call. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help resolve the issue named:

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:

See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:

If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.

Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

Is it all apps or do Music and Videos apps still have sound ? If they do then have you got notifications muted ? Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.
