Ipad no sound - twice in a day

Having problems with my ipad2. Have no sound in apps or music. The side switch isn't on and the settings for the switch are for mute. When I press the side volume switch to up or down nothing happens.
I fixed it earlier today by pressing the home button and off switch until the apple logo appeared. But this hasn't worked a few hours later. Any advice?
Historically I've had the same issue every month - why?

This seems to be caused by the screen being warmer than your finger tip when the phone has been in your pocket.
Solution: quickly blow on the screen and then slide to answer!

Why would I have to download latest verison adobe flash player twice in one day when I already had?

   I play a game called Castville and I play on Zynga.com on mozilla firefox. About a week ago after
going into and playing castlville dozens of times I got a message saying I needed to download the latest verison of adobe flash even though I just downloaded it with no message or problem just moments before. I had to leave and then went back in that is when I saw the message about the download. The problem was I had to download it twice in one day one right after the other. I downloaded and I still had the same message well I downloaded again but I should have never had to download it all since it was already oin my computer now there are problems with the game and at the bottom of the screen I see
on occaison the abode flash sign flash or perhaps flicker once or twice and this it. Since I downloaded it twice abode had been crashing I get this picture of a plug in unplugged and a line above that says that I have to reloaded the game.   So can someone please tell me why I had to download abode flash player twice in one day when I already had it and 2 why it is now causing the game I have been playing for a couple weeks before I downloaded twice to start sicking and sometimes crashing.     Please help
     Adobe Flash player crash every 10 to 15 minutes in google chrome waterfox it has just started to sticking and then crashing.
   Should uninstall waterfox and adobe flash player then reinstall? I like waterfox better than google chrome.

Have you checked the Mute switch on the side ? If it shows orange/red , its ON
Do you have Do-Not-Disturb set on ? If you can see a quarter moon icon near your battery indicator - its ON.

I have exactly the same problem. I have tried almost everything and I am nowhere near an Apple shop as I am working in Africa.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Many companies with streaming services block video airplay so you just get audio - check the Amazon site as I don't use this service.
This is often down to usage restrictions imposed by the movie companies that make little sense to consumers.

IPad 2 sound is not consistent

My ipad 2 sound goes is stages from sounding like crap to sounding normal and then no sound and back again. The whole process can take a couple of weeks to no sound for a week. Tried a power down and it brought the sound back but the sound is bad. Any ideas?

I have no idea why that might occur, all the birthdays and a couple tech sessions that I have in mine appear correrct.
Are they birthdays that youy entered to calendar and possibly selected to repaet on 2nd friday of feb?
Not an option if birthday is coming from contacts app, though.

IPad screen cracked twice in 3 weeks - best option?

My 13 year-old son is usually very responsible with his electronics, but he has managed to crack his iPad 2 screen twice in three weeks (one accidental drop, one friend sitting on it). The first time he paid a third party vendor $150 to repair it. They did a very good job and it looked good as new. Now I'm debating what to do this time (short of confiscating it forever). In your opinion, should we:
1) Have him pay the same third party vendor to repair it again? He's trying to save for a laptop and this is making quite a dent in his savings.
2) Just buy a really good screen protector and hope for the best? Will that prevent it from getting worse? What brand do you recommend?
3) Throw ourselves on the mercy of the nearest Apple genius? I understand third party repair work will void the warranty (It will be a year old in December). Would that also prevent them from taking pity on us and offering a replacement? I understand there's no guarantee of a replacement, and that it all depends on the person and/or the store, the situation, etc. Is it even worth a shot?
The poor kid is so angry with himself, I hardly have the heart to throw a fit about this. He's already punished himself enough.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
