IPAD NO WIRELESS PASSWORD PROMPT

My wife's Ipad 1 will not allow for a password to be entered when joining a wireless network.  Only the "Couldn't Join" message and a dismiss option.  How can I get a password prompt?

Does the network you're trying to join show a little lock icon beside it, indicating that a password is required? If not, then no p/w is required for it, which is the good answer for you, or there might some issue with the network itself, which you can do nothing about on your end.
If it does, then I think you must have some iOS issue going on, assuming that you have the same issue on other networks that show the lock icon. In that case I'd try the below things in more or less the stated order. Check and see if any step fixes your problem and, if it does, don't continue. First,
a. Try simply powering the iPad down (press and hold Sleep/Wake, then slide the red slider, etc.) and back on, see if the situation persists. If it does, then
b. Cycle various settings in Settings > General > Wifi and > Networks, seeing is you can make whatever is latched up unlatch itself. This will sometimes help.
c. Try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
d. Try a Reset (System or Forced) by pressing and holding both the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for about 10 seconds. Ignore the red slider when it appears, then when you see the white Apple logo appear on the blank screen you can release the buttons and allow a normal boot up to proceed.
If still no luck at that point, you may have little left to try except for a fresh load of iOS and restoring from a backup.

  • Wireless password on iPad

My Mbp just bit the dust.  Bought a new Mac but I need the wireless pass word to set up he new Mac.   Of course the only place I have my password is in keychain on the MBP  that no longer works.    My iPad is still connected to the wifi net work so I know the password is somewhere on the iPad but I don't know where.  How do I find the wireless password I.e. keychain.  On my iPad?

    1. Get your router IP address from the router manual
    2. Use Safari to enter your router setup page
    3. Configuration>Wireless
    4. Reset your password
    5. Save password and exit setup

  • 802.1X getting a password prompt

Okay something is still broken in 10.6.7 with 802.1X authentication.  I sometimes never get a loging/password prompt from OSX eventhough in the user profile I have "prompt for password" checked.  Just today I enabled my wireless and waited for the password/login prompt But never received one.  My password is dependent on RSA token and a new number provided every minute.  I figured out that my account was locked out from OSX trying my previous password and therefore incorrect.  I have "prompt for password" checked so this behavoir from OSX never should have happened.  After numerous tries of disabling the wireless and re-enabling and removing my user profile associated with the wireless network I am attempting to access - I finally received a password/login prompt from OSX.  This process should be seamless and there should not be a lock out based on OSX sending stale password information.   the auth method I am using is WPA enterprise.  How can I put a recommendation to apple to get this working properly.  we are on 10.6.x now - thats years of revisions and 802.1X auth is still not working well on all occassions.

It depends on where you imported your signing certificate. On Windows if you place it in the Windows Store it by default remembers the password and does not ask again. In the process of importing signing certificate into the Windows Store you can select an option to ask you the password always. If you imported your signing certificate into the Acrobat Store, you can control how often you're asked the password.
    1. Go to Edit->Preferences->Signatures->Identities&Trusted Certificates->More and select Digital IDs. "Storage Mechanism" column shows you where your signing certificate is stored.
    2. If it is stored as a "Digital ID file" select "Digital ID Files" and click on the file that contains your signing certificate. There is "Password Timeout" tab on the top of the right panel. When you click it it will ask you for teh password and then present several options that control how often Acrobat/Reader asks you for the password when you sign.
This is the same in Acrobat and Reader.

  • How to stop the the icloud password prompt for an old email

I desperately need help.  My iphone 4s can't be used because the icloud password prompt comes up every 2 seconds.  I had an old itunes account with an old email a long time ago and cancelled the email address. i.e I can't go back into it to read any emails anymore. PS I've never used an icloud account with this email address.
For some reason my Iphone is prompting me to put in a password to sign into this icloud account with my old email address.  I try to cancel it but it just prompts me again 2 seconds later.  I now can't use my iphone becuase of this.
I've log into all accounts (itunes/ipad/iphone/icloud) and looked at my Apply ID and passwords etc and all are the same, i.e the correct (newer) email address. I've tried to cancel the icloud account on my iphone but it wants the password for the icloud account with the old email and I never set up an account, so don't have anything to type in.
It's saying my accounts not verified on my iphone and tries to send me an email to the correct email address to verify it but I never receive an email to this account to do that.
Is there a way to cancel the old email account on itunes or some other magical trick to help me.
Thankyou for your help in advance.

  • Mavericks Outlook 2011 Password Prompt (Solution)

I have a Macbook Pro running Mavericks.  Outlook 2011 kept pushing the password prompt to the screen.  I have searched and searched for a solution.  I have seen the following solutions offered:
    Issues with Keychain corruption
    Outlook autodiscovery
    Deleting files
    Reinstalling Outlook
    Reinstalling Mavericks
I'm not doing any reinstalls because until I installed Mavericks I didn't have Outlook problems.  So reinstalling Outlook and the OS was not an option for me because I do so much work on my Mac.
But I'm in IT so I decided to begin to dig deep into this because regardless of the proposed solutions offered there was still someone in the thread say, "I tried this but it didn't work for me."  I too was one of them.
The distinction I needed popped into to my face looking at another thread but the user didn't answer the guys question. He simply asked the complaining user, "Are you on wireless, 802.1x?"  That was it.
I was on wireless 802.1x environment.
Our wireless controller does authenticate to the Active Directory server.
I did use the iPhone Configuration Utility to create my wifi profile.
I did import the CAs needed for my profile.
    My profile does work.
But what about the Exchange portion of my profile?
The Exchange portion of my profile was EMPTY?  The password kept coming back because my user/machine level authentication was being managed by my wireless profile.  Due to this my profile took responsibility for authenticating to my WIFI connection as well as my Exchange account.  In the end the profile seems to takes precedence in the 802.1x authentication.
I went back the iPhone Configuration Utility, clicked on my profile, clicked on the Exchange and filled in my domain\username, my email address, my password and a few other boxes.  I exported my profile to my desktop and clicked on it.  Since my profile still had the same name I was asked if I wanted to "Overwrite" my existing profile to which I responded, "Yes"
Since yesterday I have not had anymore issues with Outlook or Office Communicator.
To add I still disabled App Nap.
I hope this helps anyone.  If you have migrated from MLion to Mavericks running MS Office you will have this problem if you are working in an 802.1x wireless environment.

I've included a pic of the iPhone Configuration Utility showing the Exchange section.  I hope this helps someone.

  • I upgraded to ios5 and now I can't log into my ipad with my password.  How can I fix this?, I upgraded to ios5 and now I can't log into my ipad with my password.

I upgraded to ios5 and now I can't log into my Ipad with the password I had set and been using for the last 2 years.  What do I need to do to get logged in?

You will have to format your iPad.  Looks like that's the only way to reset your password.
    Formatting your iPad
Turn off your iPad, turn on iTunes, hold large button down on ipad while connecting the white ipad cord to your Pc.
When the window prompts format iPad,let the button go and press format button on iTunes.
That is how I solved the same problem.

  • Can iPad remember my password of apple id?

Apple id always asked me to type password after i wake up ipad.
Every time i open the app store, it also asked me to type password.
Can iPad remember my password, so that i do not need to type the password again and again?

This prompt is a security feature to prevent anyone from picking up the ipad and making purchases or downloading anything that you might not want done. If you have a credit card attached to your itunes account and then "allow" it to not prompt you, then a friend or a child could open the app store or itunes and make multiple purchases that you might not want. I only get prompted when I make a purchase or download an update. If you are getting prompted otherwise it might signal that you have an app that is not able to finish downloading and keeps prompting you to get the authorization to do so.

  • Turn off or save AppStore password prompt

    Hi there,
Every time I download something from the AppStore I am prompted for my password, even if it's a free app. Is there a way to have my iPad remember this password?
    Thanks for the help

What real world are you taking about, Matt?
If you can save the same password for iTunes, but not for AppStore, that's just misleading.
Safari lets you save your passwords for banking online, but if you want to download a free game (even with no creditcard information saved to appleid-account) you have to enter a password.
That leads to changing your password to smth simple and easy-to-type, i.e. lowering your security level.
Everyone admits that this time Apple had a wrong design decision on that would be better for the user (like with those annoying popup messages on iOS), the problem is – it's not getting fixed.

  • New wireless password

I have the HP Laser Jet M1217nfwMFP.  We have a new wireless password and I need to reset my printer with the new password.  How do I do this?

    Hi,
Click the Right arrow of your printer and locate the Network menu.
Click OK to enter the menu and select Restore / Reset Network Settings.
Confirm any prompt and you should see a confirmation for the network settings reset.
Enter the Network Menu and select Wireless, ensure the Wireless / Wireless Radio option is set as On.
Temporarly plug a USB between the printer and your PCm follow the pooped Smart Install dialog by selecting Wireless Conenction and follow the steps on screen to reconfigure the printer using the current information.

  • If someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back

if someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back? please could someone help me out thanks

How did they wipe it?  By using Find My iPad and performing a wipe?  If so, that means they have your icloud ID and password, not a good thing.
You could try connecting it to iTunes and performing a restore from iCloud.  But if they changed password, then you are out of the loop.  How did they get your password in order to change it?

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

That's an entirely different issue, unrelated to your iOS devices.

  • How do i stop an old apple ID and password prompt from always popping up on my phone during normal use ?

How do i stop an old apple ID and password prompt from popping up on my phone screen during normal operations ?

How to change the Apple ID on my iOS Device
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
    Settings > Facetime.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
    Settings > Messages.
Turn off iMessages, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.  Go to 'Receive messages at' and then tap your Apple ID.  Sign out of the old ID, then sign in with new Apple ID.
    Settings > iCloud.
Delete the account (make sure to KEEP the information on your phone), then turn it back on with new Apple ID.
Also, delete any apps that were downloaded with the 'old' Apple ID, then reinstall them with your 'new' ID.

  • Computer Shuts Down At BitLocker Boot Password Prompt

    Hi All,
I have been using this computer for almost 6 months now with absolutely no problems until I encrypted my system drive with BitLocker. I am not using a TPM. Now, almost every time I get to the password prompt for BitLocker at boot, my computer turns completely
off. I am using an ASUS Z97-E. ASUS tech support was completely useless and wanted to pass the blame instead of help, so I guess I'm on my own as far as their support.
I have read previously that this may be related to ASUS products. I cannot seem to get it to boot reliably. If I completely remove power from the machine by unplugging it, sometimes that will give me enough time to enter my password. If I don't, often, it
will only give me a couple seconds (and my password is pretty long) before shutting down.
I have tried disabling Secure Boot and that seemed to help at first but then the problem came right back.
There is a BIOS update available but I'm not confident it will fix the problem.
Are there any specific BIOS settings I can change to make BitLocker stop making my computer shut down? Any Windows settings I can change that might help?
I'd really like to keep my data encrypted but I'm not sure if this hassle is worth it.

    Hi,
Based on my research, this is a firmware problem. It does not matter what authentication method (TPM/without TPM/PIN+TPM/Password only/...) is used, it leaves you only some seconds before it shuts down.
It's recommend you contact ASUS tell them to try and reproduce it. They would need to fix their BIOS.
In addition, we could try to disable "fast startup" as below steps to see if it could be as a workaround:
1.In Control Panel, open the Power Options item.
2.Click the Choose what the power buttons do link.
3.Clear the Turn on fast startup (recommended) check box.
    4.Click Save Settings.
Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact [email protected]

When trying to download apps on my new iPad I keep getting prompted to update my security questions for my safety. When I choose this option it freezes and won't load the questions, however, when I hit not now it won't let me download. What do I do?

Reboot your iPad and then see if you can set the security questions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Is it possible to show a presentation from the original iPad via wireless on an older projector with no HDMI input?

is it possible to show a presentation from the original iPad via wireless on an older projector with no HDMI input? If so, what equipment is needed?

The ipad not support wireless projector yet.
The workaround is you are using computer that connected wirelessly [needs 2 wireless adapter] / via cable to projector and connected also to the wireless router.
You are controlling the computer via wireless connected to the router using remote desktop app like splashtop, teamviewer, logmein, vnc, etc. You must set the remote desktop port and app at the computer too as ipad app support.
