IPad not staying connected

Hi all, I'm new here and not as technologically literate as most people on here! I went to the Apple store yesterday because my iPad is not staying connected at home. I have no problem, however, with my iPhone, iMac, and iTouch. It was suggested that my router is getting "bogged down" and that I can set up a MAC IP Address. How do I know what IP address to use? I've searched on here, and I'm not having any luck. I'm very close to buying Apple's router, but wanting to see if I can fix my problem first. Thanks in advance for your help!
(p.s. I have a D-Link WBR-2310)

We had this problem on an all-Apple WiFi network with the iPad 10 feet from an AirPort Express. The folks at the Apple Store offered to replace the iPad or wait for a software update - surprisingly, the latter course fixed the problem a few weeks later. Sooo... update the iPad software if you haven't already done so and see if that doesn't help.

how do you resolve the problem of ipad not staying connected to internet when other devices are connected. Ipad disconnects after about 5 seconds.

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • IPad not staying connected to Cellular network

My Husband has an iPad wifi/4G with AT&T service. It is not maintaining a connection to the Cellular network. We have taken it to AT&T and had the SIM card replaced as directed by AT&T Customer Care. This didn't help.
It will randomly connect when he is out but not in our home. This is a new problem as it has always connected before.
Is this something we should take it to the Apple Store for? or possibly does it need repair? Of course he Applecare has expired
He works out in the field and needs it to connect.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hello Maggie Vansickle,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you're having connectivity issues with your iPad's cellular connection.  To resolve this issue please follow the steps below.  Note, that even though it states it is for iPhone, the same steps apply to your iPad cellular connection.
    No cell signal strength anywhere
Verify that your carrier name appears in the status bar, at top left of the display.
Turn Airplane mode on, wait for the to appear in the status bar, and then turn it off again.
Reset Network Settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If your iPhone is in a case, try removing it to ensure that the case isn't interfering with the cell signal strength.
Contact your carrier to find out the following:
If you are in an area with network coverage.
If there is a network outage.
The account is properly configured to your phone.
Try to restore your phone and set it up as new.
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal

iPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal. I have to keep joining the network or restarting devices or forgetting network and rejoining it.  As a side note my 1st gen iPhone which I upgraded to iPhone 5 yesterday always stayed connected!

The steps to try would be to:
    1. Restore the iPhone to Factory.
    2. If that does not solve the problem replace the iPhone.
If Verizon is offering to replace the iPhone for free under warranty I would go with that option.

  • Macbook Pro will not stay connected to 3Play Bluetooth Receiver

Hello.  My brand new Macbook Pro Retina (2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3, 500 GB memory, OSX 10.9.5) paired with the 3Play immediately and connected immediately, but would not stay connected over ten seconds.  My IPad and my android Galaxy phone work perfectly.  One website suggested that you have to download bluetooth explorer from Apple Developer and enable Apt-X.  I could not find a download of that type on the Apple Developer site.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  I am brand new to OSX and am still kind of stumbling my way through; in other words, I am less than a novice!  Thanks!

  • Why is my iPhone 5 not staying connected to my wi-fi

Why is my iPhone 5 not staying connected to my wi-fi

I am so flippen ticked. I have been a iPhone, 3, 4,4S user for ever. I now made the mistake of going to an iphone 5 with update to iOS 6.0.1.
I cannot keep a wi-fi connection for the life of me. Nor can I keep even the weakest of signals to my cell carrier even if the phone sits still in one spot. While at the same time my ipad 3 with iOS 6.0.1 sitting right next to the phone has been up on the same carrier and wi-fi source for hours.
I am about to through the phone in the river and swear off Apple. This is frustrating after I use to talk about how good an iPhone was. Very Very disapointed.

  • Why can't I get my iPad to stay connected to my printer?

I am having trouble getting my iPad to stay connected to my printer. I have set up the printer numerous times, but every time I try getting it to print a second time after it prints once,my iPad sends the message that it can't find an Air-printer. I contacted the retailer where I purchased it and he told me to do a reset by pushing the Home button and Sleep button at the same time. That seemed to fix it, but when I tried printing something the next day, it was back to the same problem and got the message about not finding an Air-printer. Can someone please advise me as to what I can do to overcome this problem?
