IPad notes application - mail problem

Hello;
My boss and I both have an iPad. We both use our iPads to take notes in meetings, and we both sync our iPads to Outlook on a PC via iTunes.
The native notes application has an email feature.
Problem: When my boss email notes from the native iPad notes application, on some notes, all of the carriage returns get stripped. This does not happen on all notes -- but seems to happen more on longer notes (500 characters or more).
The resulting email has no formatting -- just one giant wrapped text line.
Any ideas what might be causing this?
Thanks,
Mark

Good point. However, you need to tell Apple. To do that go here:

  • Messages sent from ipad not in mail on computer

I have a POP email account which i use on both my macbook pro and my ipad 3g. How can I get the sent messages on my ipad to show up in mail on my laptop? It is not happening when I synchronize the ipad to the computer. There is no option for sent messages when I go to settings-mail,contacts,calendar-account-advanced on the ipad... there is only deleted messages and incoming settings available.

Meg is right. Can't be done on a POP account unless you cc yourself.
POP has one advantage on the iPad/iPhone, and that is that you can keep a smaller subset of your emails on your mobile device. That is, you can delete mails and still have them stored on your main computer. You can't do that with IMAP. (Unless someone knows otherwise!)

  • Why will iPad not move mail to trash

Just setting up windows mail on ipad2 but when deleting emails get message saying cannot move mail to trash.
    Any ideas?

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then select the account where you've got the problem, then select Account, Advanced, Deleted Mailbox, and under On The Server tap the 'Trash' folder (or whatever it is called by your provider) so that it gets a tick against it - then come out of that series of screens and try deleting them again

  • Ongoing Keychain-Mail problem

I guess the last discussion was removed for some reason, so I'll start another one. Myself along with many others seem to be having problems getting Keychain to remember the password for our mail accounts. I have tried everything that I have found on the internet but still cannot solve this problem. SBC (my DSL provider) informed me that it is a Mail problem, and it makes sense. Anyone know how to fix it or if you're listening Apple, can you update Keychain for us?

SBC (my DSL provider) informed me that it is a Mail problem,
    and it makes sense.
This is not a Mail problem. If a Mail problem then many more Mail users besides SBC customers would be reporting the same which is not the case. SBC customers who are Windows users are also experiencing the same.
SBC has reported to Apple and to some of their customers who have complained, they are having problems affecting some of their mail servers, not all.
The request for authentication fails within a too short period for the transactions to be authorized.
You need to contact SBC and ask when they expect to have their server problems resolved and/or be patient until they do. When they tell you this is an Apple/Mail problem, ask them about the reports by Windows users with the same problem.

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here, so I've asked the hosts to remove your email address, postal addresses and phone numbers from your post.
I'm not entirely sure what you are saying, but if those apps are crashing then have you tried toggling them 'off' and 'on' via Settings > iCloud ? And if that doesn't fix it then try closing them via the iPad's taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
You could also try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    If it's a different problem ... ?

  • Why is my iPad not able to download mail for hours at a time while the iPhone next to it has no problem?

Why is my iPad not able to download mail when the iPhone next to it can and the iPad may be able to do it 24 hours later with no change in settings?  This happens with multiple email accounts at the same time in several locations on many occasions.  The setting is to check emails every 15 minutes.   It says it is checking but nothing comes up while it does on my Mac or iPhone

I have exactly the same problem here.
Can see new email appearing straight away on the iPhone and Windows pc, but very erratic on the iPad.  Sometimes the emails appear immediately on the iPad, other times they don't appear for hours.
One thing I have noticed if I go and change the "delete messages - remove" setting to something other than what it was set (for instance from "never" to "one month") it seems to jiggle something and the outstanding emails all suddenly appear.

Double check your contacts email, and if its incorrect, go to their contact and change it and save it or you can delete the email you put in, and manually type it in.
    Hope this helps.
How would that help the original poster?

Hi dears, my Notes application on ipad isn't work. Do you have any suggestion to resolve this problem?

    update to latest OSX 10.9.3
reset SMC ,   you likely put your Air into sleep mode with phones attached.
update the OSX to fix the issue.

  • I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • TS3276 Web through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights.

Went through this step-by-step, but alas it did not solve the problem. For some reason I can download mail on my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but no my iMac. Connection Doctor shows all green lights. This started today when I was prompted to re-enter incoming mail server passwords. I re-entered passowrds yet again to make sure they were correct. Rebuilt the inBox. Connection Doctor continues to show all green lights, but am still unable to download mail to the inbox. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?

I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2.  My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone).  I  was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

  • After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.

  • You can't open the application "Mail" because it is not supported on this type of Mac

For some reason I can not open Mail application anymore; I keep receving this weird message. "You can’t open the application “Mail” because it is not supported on this type of Mac."
I'm using an IMac 24-inch, Early 2008 and running OS X10.8.2.  Ever since I downloaded this latest version of OS X Mountain Lion my computer has slown down considerably

    Hi mende1,
Problem solved!! Following you suggestion, I reinstalled Mountain Lion and everything is working just fine now.
Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Sometimes, for no apparent reason, I lose a note in my notes application. This sometimes happens when I have just opened it, or when next time I open my ipad, it just isn't there anymore. Can it only be retrieved before iCloud backs up automatically?

Sometimes, for no apparent reason, I lose a note in my notes application. This happens when I either have just opened a notes page or when next time I open my ipad, a note just isn't there anymore. It does seem to occur randomly i.e. independent of note size or age. Very annoying. I guess it can only be retrieved from iCloud before the next automatic back-up? Does anyone know why this happens and what can be done about it to prevent it in future? Is there a limit to how many note pages this app can store (presently I have about 70). I have started to email every note I make on my iPad to myself to be on the safe side. Is the Notes App really so unreliable? Anyone else with the same problem?

Oddly enough, the size/format of some names can make odd things happen with network Time Machine backups, and at least one of yours may be involved. See #C9 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
Do your self a favor, though. Even if you get this working, do not depend on these backups 100%. There's a reason Apple doesn't support it -- it's not reliable.
There are any number of threads here and in the Airport Extreme forum similar to this one: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2483045
If you still want to do it, see Using Time Machine with an Airport Extreme Air Disk (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
