IPad Numbers guide in PDF

Hey,
Can anyone tell me where can I find a PDF guide or manual for Numbers?

Go to the apple website and select support. Select Manuals then enter "Numbers" in the search box.

  • IPad and images in PDF's

What's with the iPad and images in PDF's? I've tried a fair number (>6 & <12) and many of the photos, images, maps and graphs don't display except as white (blank) space. I've tried two PDF readers and Safari. I tried to find the specs., but those say the image formats should display. I'm open to suggestions.

    Sure, it's at:
    http://www.wsrphoto.com/web-files/CarbonRiverESA.pdf
or at the bottom of the Web page at
    http://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.cfm?parkID=323&projectID=19729&documentID=3 6317
When you extract the images, maps and graphs in Acrobat, many export as 8-10 horizontal or vertical (long axis) images. Acrobat on the Mac has no problems rendering it right, but on the iPad it's blank areas. I've tested other PDF with the same problem.
On the working side with the iPad I've loaded entire geology guide at
    http://www.wsrphoto.com/mtdnrbook.html
see link to the "Whole Book" in list of chapters. Every image, map and graph display fine (and make a cool carry along book for road trips).

  • Exporting Numbers sheet to pdf but keeping formulas?

    Hi!
I want to know if it's possible to export a Numbers sheet to .pdf in a way that let's me keep the formulas? My goal is to create a pdf which let's the user answer a series of questions where the answers create a result and a couple of diagrams. I have it all drawn out in Numbers but can't figure out how to create a pdf out of this. If I export the sheet to pdf the formulas disappear....
    Please help me!
    Thanks!

    Hi Owen,
This seems to be a good candidate for the sharing function in Numbers 3 rather than a pdf. You simply send the person the link to the spreadsheet. They enter some data right through their browser and (since, unlike with a pdf, the formulas are there) they will see the results and the charts change on their end. They don't need to have a Mac or Numbers installed; just any computer with a modern browser.
That works well for one user at a time. If you have different users who will each be inputing different things you can set up multiple copies of your document and share each one to a different person.
If they have a modern Mac updated to Mavericks you can of course just send them your document and they can open it on their end, since Numbers is now free to all.
Obviously, none of this is advisable if data integrity is an issue, because once you share a document, both they and you (or anybody else who gets their hands on the link) can go in and change values and formulas until such time as you revoke the sharing.  There's no password protection for shared documents.  Hope that's coming.
    SG
Edit: Sharing works the same from Numbers for iOS, in case you're running it on an iPad.

You get the iBooks version through the iBooks bookstore. Just search for "iPad User Guide".

  • How to insert page numbers in a PDF document?

How to insert page numbers in a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.2?
    Thanks.

    OK, I found it myself:
    1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
    2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.
    That is!

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document.  If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible).  Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.
Would it be possible to send a video of the problem you are encountering to [email protected] so that we can try to help?

  • How do I get my ipad to recognise my pdf attachments as pdfs?

My ipad does not always recognise a pdf file as as incoming mail attachment, so I cannot always open the pdf in another app.
Although the attachment shows as a paperclip in the mail header, sometimes the content of the attachment is displayed in the body on the email. When this happens I don't get the small square window at the top right corner of the screen where you can select another app to open the pdf.
How do I get my ipad to recognise my pdf attachments as pdfs and not show the content in the body of the mail message?

This is from page 44 of the iPad User Manual:
Open a meeting invitation or attachment: Tap the item. If the attachment can be used by multiple apps, touch and hold to choose an app that works with the file.
Based on this, I suggest trying this:
Touch and hold an area of the PDF file that displays in the body in your email.  Do you get the behavior described in the manual above?

  • How do i add a timestamp in ipad numbers

I cant find any where better to post this so I hope it is ok here if not please feel free to remove to a better section
As the title states really I need to enter a number in D2 and then D3 needs to show the time of the entry in D2.
I assume it goes down the lines of if D2 > 0 and D3 = "" then D3 = Time. But I have never used spread sheets at all, this is my first encounter and the Ipad numbers syntax is pretty confusing for a nuube.
    Any advice would be great

@ SG111 Thanks for the reply but I dont think you understand the question my friend, your answer is not relevant to what i was asking at all
    @ T quinn
1 it seems ludicrous that it is impossible to simply add a time stamp it seems a very important yet simple task to use a timestamp in a spread sheet so why not have it in numbers?
It seems it is impossible from what i gather yet it seems so easy to do with the logic after all many applications use a very simple time for input criteria.
I see no issue with the logic that if D3 ="" and D2>0 then Time stamp D3. Once D3="NOW" it no longer ="" and should not alter the time when the calcs are made.....
My main issue is actually getting the syntax right in the numbers logic functions
Maybe Numbers simply does not allow it in which case it is a pretty useless piece of software indeed!
Any way thanks for the help

  • Can you add page numbers to the PDF version?

Can you add page numbers to the PDF version?

    Hello saradianapasik,
If you start with a document created with Acrobat Pro, or exported from your word processor as a .pdf, then you should include page numbers in that originating application. After you have exported a .pdf form from FormsCentral, it is no longer editable.
    I hope that helps,
    Brian

  • OCR for numbers in a PDF

    Hi guys
I've got a situation where I need to take numbers from a PDF file which is a previsouly scanned-in copy of an invoice. The PDF will be opened alongside a data entry form for the user to complete the form with information from the invoice. However, what I need to do is offer the user suggestions for some of the form fields (such as Net Total, VAT (Tax), Grand Total etc). I know that for specific suggestions for each field I would need some kind of 'zone' OCR, so if I could only pull out all numbers in the scanned image of the invoice from the PDF, I could offer all numbers as a suggestion in a drop-down.
I am using CFMX7, so I'm looking for a way to do this or some kind of component which will allow me to do this.
    All the best
    Wes

I am not sure it if will meet your needs, but you might look into jPedal. IIRC, it has some text extraction capabilities.

  • Numbered lines in pdf file

Converted Word file with numbered lines to pdf, but the numbers themselves did not convert. How do I add numbers to pdf lines?

Closely evaluate the authoring file's configuration. If an "auto-number" style prefix was used you may want to look that over. Regardless, with a correct configuration the numbers would be part of the content that goes to the PDF.
    Be well...

  • Converting many numbers files to PDFs?

    Hi everyone!
I would like to convert many Numbers files to PDF documents. Every Numbers document should be a new PDF with the same name!
I even tried to write a workflow file with Automator, but I dont get the "create a PDF"-part running.
Furthermore I googled for 2 hours, but all scripts I found do not work with the latest Numbers version...
Please help me... Maybe one of you have a Apple Script or a solution using Automator?
    OS X 10.9.3
    Numbers Version 3.2 (1861)

    Dear Lori,
    promptUser =false, see below.
    Does not work.
All programs that might disturbe PDF output removed from computer.
    Does not work.
I am now investing some evenings into Word-VBA, making a script loop through the subdirectories over several levels (does Acrobat do that anyway?)...
    Does not work.
    Not yet.
    It will have to...
    best regards,
    Boris

  • Automator Workflow to export Numbers documents in PDF format

Does anyone know of any automator workflow to export Numbers documents in PDF format? I tried this program: Convert to PDF 1.2
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/automator/converttopdf_mauriziominelli.htm l
    But it gives an error.

    Reading carefully is often useful.
The description of the tool which you tried clearly states :
    *About Convert to PDF*
*_Convert all of your text files to PDF_. This action uses the underlying cups printing system ability to convert files, it’s a simple front end to the command line tool cupsfilter.*
As far as I know, but maybe you don't, *_a Numbers document isn't a text file._*
I already posted a script exporting Numbers documents as PDF.
Here is an enhanced version which apply only to Numbers '09 (or maybe higher) :
    --[SCRIPT save2Numbers&PDF.app]
Enregistrer le script en tant que Script : save2Numbers&PDF.scpt
déplacer le fichier créé dans le dossier
    <VolumeDeDémarrage>:Users:<votreCompte>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    --=====
    L'aide du Finder explique:
L'Utilitaire AppleScript permet d'activer le Menu des scripts :
Ouvrez l'Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
Cochez la case "Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus".
    +++++++
    Save the script
    as a Script: save2Numbers&PDF.scpt
Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose save2Numbers&PDF
The script saves the document in the native Numbers format and saves it in a .pdf file
If such a .pdf already exists, it is renamed with a stamp matching its modification date.
    --=====
    The Finder's Help explains:
To make the Script menu appear:
Open the AppleScript utility located in Applications/AppleScript.
Select the "Show Script Menu in menu bar" checkbox
