just updated my ipad2 to iOS 8 but the word "ipad" on the upper left corner of the screen went missing. In the older version, it always appear on the upper left corner of the screen beside the icon of the wifi. Please help me solve this problem. Thanks

Hi, mine did the same when I turned it off and then back on again, I hadn't turned my iPad off as I mainly leave it on all the time. I guess it is some glitch with the iPads with cellular data. I have a wifi only iPad as well which had no problems with the upgrade to iOS 8 and displaying the iPad word. Hopefully Apple will read this and fix this issue in a future release. I had previously reset my iPad to factory default which didn't fix the issue either. At the end of the day I am not too concerned about it as the iPad is still working fine.

How do I close the white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock that sometimes randomly pops up in the upper left of my screen?

Every now and then, a weird white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock pops up in the upper left of my screen. I can't seem to close it or move it, and when I try to use another application, it stays there and blocks features. The only way I've found to make it go away is by force closing Firefox.Why does it pop up and how do I close it? I'm on an iMac, Snow Leopard. Have the latest version of Firefox, 10.0.2.

Why do I have a big Q on the upper left of my screen when i go into a text?

This is driving me crazy.. Why do I have a big Q on the upper left of my screen when i go into a text message? How do I get it off? Someone sent me a picture and I noticed it was on there also?

ME TOOO!! omg it's so annoying. I have only had this happen with an iphone 4, and i noticed it started happening after I did a text msg. usually it's just a big Capital "Q", in a similar position as it would be on the keyboard. but it stays on the screen. Now it also stays there even when i go to my home page or any other screen for that matter. I recently had my phone swapped out because my home button had worn out (uh oh....less than 6 mo old too!) but even on the new phone it's doing the "Q" thing too.
mine only goes away when i reboot. grrrrr. glad im not the only one tho.

Can not turn of my iPad. The screen is locked

I have an iPad. The screen is locked. There is a box saying that the iCloud security copying has not been done for the last 22 weeks.
When trying to turn off the iPad, nothing happens. The box is there and the red arrow saying "shut down", but nothing happens, the iPad do not shut down.
There is still 1,6 GB storage left.
I have a MacBookPro and an iPhone and here everything is functioning.

Reset. Hold down Power and Home button until Apple logo appears. Ignore "Slide to Power off" message.
Then go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Backup now.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Try this.

Computer recognizes iPad but the screen is black

My computer recognizes my iPad but the screen is black/blank. I can sync, restore, etc, the iPad appears that it is functioning except that the screen stays black/blank occasionally you can see the backlights come on when you press the home/sleep/wake button. I have preformed hard/soft resets and restored the ipad with no success. Any suggestions?

All iPads should still be under the one-year warranty. Presumably you have done something to your iPad which voided the warranty?
Apple will still repair your iPad for a charge. There are also other repair shops who can fix it.

How can I return to previous page? There used to be an arrow in upper left side of screen that would allow this, but it has disappeared.

can I somehow edit the location of where I can find all the sheets (right now they are on top of the page, and you can't see all of them listed at quick glance but must scroll/arrow through them)
On my machine I just hit shift-command-j (the keyboard shortcut I assigned in System Preferences) and a list of the sheets in the current document pops up:
I type a number from the list and jump immediately to that sheet. The hands never have to leave the keyboard.
(This particular document had a sheet named for each month. But the sheets in your document automatically will be listed instead.)
This is done via a Jump to Sheet Automator Service (Dropbox download). To install just doubleclick the .workflow package and (if needed) click 'Download Anyway' in System Preferences > Privacy & Security.
Installation will cause a new item to appear in your Numbers > Services menu. Then, if you want a keyboard shortcut, go here in System Preferences and add one:
You can rename or remove the service by holding down the option key in Finder and choosing Go > Library > Services. You can also view the AppleScript contaned within the service by opening the .workflow package in Automator.
Note, also, that in Numbers 3 you don't have to use those left-right arrows upper right to slowly scroll left-right to the sheets that are out of view. Just move your cursor up to the "band" with the "tabs" and drag left or right. That's much faster than using the arrows.
