Ipad or Mac
Hi, I'm a college student who works and travels a lot with my computer. I own an Asus notebook and have been debating if I should switch to something better. I've had to get my computer fixed 4 times in the past 2 years, so Although its great. It doesnt seem to be be durable. I been debating if I should get an ipad with a keyboard or just go for the Mac air? the weight is something that I really consider important which is why I'm not going for the Pro. If someone could please help I would really appreciate it!
p.s (I also own an iphone 5 and use it for everything! so I wonder if having an ipad would be a waste of money)

If not, what happens if you remove the Apple ID on the iPad and then set it in Airplane Mode (allow a couple of minutes at this point) followed by re-adding the Apple ID ?

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -

My mac, ipad and apple tv share the same itunes account. Why do movies rented from itunes on my ipad or mac not show up in my apple tv? is there a way to get them there?
Rentals are one-time only downloads, they will not show on other devices/computers for redownloading.
If you rent a film on your iPad or Apple TV then you can only watch it on that device. If you rent it on your Mac then you can move it from there to your iPhone or your Apple TV (if it's a first gen Apple TV) : FAQs about renting movies from the iTunes Store :
If you rented the movie on your computer, you can move it to an iOS device or Apple TV (1st generation). To do this, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. My new iPhone was mistakenly setup with a new account diferent from theone on my iPad and MAC, iTunes and Mobile Me. I finally got Lion and moved my MobileMe to iCloud. I then found out this mistake when my iPhone was not synching with my iPad and MAC. the onloy way I can see to fix this is reset the account my iPhone iCloud if set to, but see not way to do that or any instruction to do this resetting. Does anyone know how to do this?
Go to Settings>Mail, etc.>iCloud and delete the account. Then add in a new account with the details you want.

If I understand your question, you want to read pdfs on your iPad, not create or edit.
Drag pdf files to the iPad icon in Finder while connected to your computer via the USB cable.
They will show up in the iBooks application
(If you don't already have iBooks, it's a free download from the App Store.)
Once installed, there are two buttons at the top left of the Bookshelf.
One is Books, the other is Collections.
Tap Collections, and you'll see Books and PDFs.
Tap PDFs and you're there. -
Ipad and mac not syncing with icloud
I am unable to sync my photos and contacts from my ipad with my Mac through icloud. The ipad and mac both have the latest update.
For icloud email on your device, you must have icloud turned on, but also have the Mail app set up to connect to icloud. In Settings>Mail, Contacts,... look in the Mail section under Accounts. You must set up your icloud email account there in order to use the Mail app to read and send emails.

Thank youThe iPad is fine. But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad. You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

Getting "sync session failed to start" message when trying to sync iPad to Mac
When i connect ipad to Mac and click on sync, which it has been doing automatically, now it doesn't and i click sync and get message "sync session failed to start". Any suggestions? Thank you.
Keep the connection, quit iTunes totally and re-start iTunes again.

my airport time capsule will no longer allow our iPhones or vizio smart tvs to connect to it, though my iPad air mac mini and mac air connect fine. Why is this? does a recent software update have anything to do with it?
What model is your TC? What is the firmware?
I recommend you do a factory reset and use short names.. not apple recommended names.
Short.. 2-20 characters .. less than 10 even better.
No spaces.
Pure alphanumeric.
Set fixed channels for 2.4ghz wireless.. test with 11, 6, 1 at least.
That often helps.. if not and is old, ie Gen1-4 go back to 7.6.1 firmware which is far more solid.
