IPad out of memory

My iPad (retina 4th gen) is running ot of memory and wants me to reboot? Updated to ios7. Have almost no apps running and 9gb left of memory on device.have rebooted multiple times and the message reappears. Bug or not?

We just released a new version that should fix most out of memory issues on the new iPad. It also adds a host of new features like commenting, form filling and ink signatures. Please update and let us know what you think.

If you still have the old computer, you should be able to connect the iPad, run iTunes and restore from a backup from a previous sync. Now that you have it updated, you will not need to do that again.

Your iPad is physically out of storage space. Purchasing space in iCloud dosen't magically give your actual iPad more physical storage space.
You need to delete content off of your iPad.

Out of memory message on iPad 3 in Adobe reader

When viewing a PDF on the iPad 3 with the Adobe reader app I get a message saying "out of memory" whenever I open a PDF bigger than about 20mb.
Any reason or a bug? I have loads of memory left on the device.

I have a new iPad air using autocad 360, when I go to open a file it gets around 70% done and then states I am out of memory.

I am trying to open autocad files on my new iPad air 64mb, I have loaded autocad 360, every time in open the file I get a message that I'm out of memory can some one help

Quit all other open apps then reset the iPad and try again.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If that doesn't help I would delete the app and download a fresh copy. Be sure you save the file somewhere other than in the app when you do this.

First ...read deggie's response. Makes sense - even a computer running a large amount of RAM can run short on memory depending upon the operation you are performing so sometimes you have to do what is available to "clear" the memory.
You can ...close apps and restart the iPad on occasion. You close apps by double tapping the home button to bring up your recent apps in the multitasking tray. Tap and hold down on any of the icons until they all begin to wiggle. Then tap the minus signs in the corner of the apps to close them. Close all of your apps in that area. Also take note of how many apps are down there. That may have something to do with why the iPad is running out of memory. Tap the home button twice to return to the home screen. Then restart your iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut off. To power up, hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If you do this once in a while, it may make a difference in how your iPad performs. In any event, it will not hurt anything.

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

The file sizes are too small (38KB) for this to be a true "out of memory" issue. Any suggestions? I didn't have any problems before updating numbers to the current version.

Ended up being a problem with the Excel file we were using. Recreated the file and all was ok.

can I say, do some work on one app then save the files to the Cloud, then reload later when I need it. Basically, I feel I should only Keep the apps on my iPad, then on each separate app save the work as I finish for the day to Keep my memory uncluttered? Any help would be appreciated. Only if the individual Apps support saving to the cloud. Otherwise no. There is no user access to the iCloud storage area.
Its only there for backups, and data syncronization between certain Apps that support it.

My mac's run out of memory and I can't find the culprit!

Hi, I'm in serious need of some help! I'm sure this is simple, but I'm about to break down over it – I use my mac for everything. I've got a 200gb 2009 macbook (running iOS7), and it's told me it's run out of memory. The storage tab in 'about this mac' tells me 108GB is being used for video – but I can't find them! My iPhoto has about 17GB of movies, my iTunes has around 20GB, and I've got maybe another 10GB in files within finder – but that's still only half the videos my mac is saying it has? How do I find the rest? I've got 80GB being used by 'other' as well – is that just pages and numbers documents, along with the iOS? Is there a way of finding exactly what all my memory's being allocated to?
I've got the entire mac backed up on an external hard drive, but I'm terrified of deleting anything from the mac in case that fails. I plan on getting a second external HD, but even then I think I'll be too worried (I've heard about so many hard drives continuously failing). How does anyone manage all their stuff?!?

Just a slight correction to start, you're not running iOS 7. You're running a version of OS X, iOS is for mobile devices like iPhones and iPads. To find out which version OS OS X you're running click the Apple menu at the top left and select About This Mac.

Running out of memory on iPhone

hi all,
when my Flash app is just getting started on the iPhone 3G, it runs out of memory. I see this in the crash report: "Count resident pages" is "11727 (jettisoned) (active)."
How do I prevent this?
If it's relevant, my app has lots of graphics and audio, and I'm guessing it's all being loaded upfront. But it's presented sequentially, so maybe I can just load one set of assets at a time. Is there some way to break it up?

I was having 3 iphone apps which is in .swf format and i tried to convert them into .ipa, in order to deploy on iPad. and I used Adobe iPhone packager and issued the command.
How ever I was successfully converted one app and deployed on iPad and it is working fine. But for 2nd app I am getting the fallowing error.

Numbers out of memory

I've tried to import an excel spread sheet into numbers but I'm getting the error "out of memory" anyone know why??

Im guessing that it has to do with the limitations of Pages itself. Definitely check your device and icloud settings to rule out something that can be fixed. But if you still have lots of space on each, then the issue is likely that the spreadsheet is too complex for Pages (at least on the iPad) to handle. I've seen this on several complex work spreadsheets I've used. I think the complexity is just beyond what Pages can handle. Some of this might be due to the size of the memory available to Pages, so in that respect, an iPad 3 or 4 might work better than my Ipad 2, but that's just conjecture on my part.
The only alternative I've found is to use cloudon to work on those spreadsheets. The excel app in Skydrive might also work, but I haven't tried that on a spreadsheet that won't run in Pages. If you try either option & it works, or you find something else that does, let us know how it turns out.

Rebooted both Radius Servers & working fine now. Although other WLC's were using these Radius Servers with no issue.

It looks like the issue is with the WLC not with the AAA server.
Reloading the servers could cause them to be marked as not reachable on WLC and that could free some memory. (just guessing). But the issue is not with the servers.
What is your wlc model and software version?

IPad Rev 1, memory acting as sore point, repair?

I have an iPad Rev 1, which I don't wish to replace as it is one of the few that had support for AT&T's $29.99/month unlimited plan. Yes, I probably could get someone at AT&T to transfer the plan to a newer iPad, but I don't really have the money for one. Has anyone gotten just the memory built-in to the iPad replaced at an Apple Genius bar? If so what did it usually cost to do so? The reason I say so, even through multiple reinstalls and reboots Apple Apps unexpectedly quit with no error message for no apparent reason, even when they are clearly the only active App and the contents of the SSD on it are less than half full.

Apple does not repair or replace any of the workings on the iPad. They will replace the device itself for a cost. There are iPad repair centers but I don't think I have ever read about having the drive replaced in an iPad either.
