IPad passcode after iOS Upgrade
Hi All,
I have this strange thing.. Once updated my iPad 2 to iOS 5, by end of the process, it asks me to create a Passcode, and it actually brought about a full keyboard for me to enter! It is a surprise because I use normal Numberical code.. Anyway, I have entered a passcode on digital numbers.
Now, when the iPAd is locked, the screen that appears to Unlock is just a normal Numberical Code , not a Keyboard ! I entered the Passcode , but it does not work ... kicked me out many times and now I have to wait for every hour to try again ! sucksss very disappointing to be stuck on this unlock screen
please any help ? did anyone see this ?

I have not changed the Passcode settings to make it Numeric after the update process is completed.
Now I am trying to enter the Pass code into the Numberical Pad but is not accepting. When I was prompted to create a Passcode during the update process, I did not enter text on the Keyboard but it was still numbers. So since I have a numerical keypad only on the Unlock screeen now , it should be OK , because my passcode was just 4 digits.
Is there a workaround other than resetting ?
I am stuck and I hate to restore again and spend another 4 hours waiting for it to complete. "..It's really painful because the update process needs a computer with a free space as big as the iPad to complete backup and restore successfuly ! took me ages but thats a different story altogether!"

iPad upgraded to IOS7. Passcode was asked. I have totally forgotten the passcode. Connected the iPad to my computer for a reset, but window popped up saying to turn off Find my iPad in Settings. How can I do this, when I'm locked out ?
For all of those who are still searching, here's what I did:
You need to get into "DFU mode".
In order to do this, you
1. must have synchronised your ipad with itunes before it was blocked
2. first connect your iPad to iTunes and there make a backup of your iPad
3. turn off your ipad and wait at least 5 seconds
4. connect your ipad to itunes
5. turn it on again, this time pressing Power and Home button at the same time and holding them for EXACTLY 10 seconds
6. let go of the Power button while still holding the Home button for EXACTLY another 10 seconds.
7. Your screen must be black now. There must NOT be a picture of a USB cable on the screen because that would be a different mode than the DFU mode.
8. Itunes tells you that your device is in DFU mode
9. Go to the "summary" tab in itunes and click restore iPad
10. itunes gives a warning that all data will be deleted and your iPad will be reset to factory settings.
11. You accept and click through the process
12. In the process, you may reinstall your backup. The password will not be reinstalled. -
BT email not working. Cannot send emails from btconnect SMTP after iOS upgrade. This is the only difference I am aware of. Apple iPad 3. Can anyone help me please.
All resolved at last
Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now
No logic - as usual - just a bug! -
PAD Mini Locked after iOS upgrade, tried reset on iPAD did not work, plugged in and device not appearing in iTUNEs for reset/restore. Just get an Apple Logo then a flashing blue screen as if it is caught booting up. This has happened twice before and iTunes restore fixed it. But this time device not appearing in iTunes.
Running iTunes for PC. But as stated restore has worked before! Any help greatly appreciated!!Place the device in DFU mode and let iTunes restore the device to factory condition.

I install latest update from my ipad 2, after the upgrade tablet running slowly. Probably the system requirements too high for my device. I think that users with older models should be able to install IOS 6.x.x on their devices or consider buying devices from other manufacturers ...
People are dissatisfied with the new update a lot, including some of my friends and acquaintances. Is it reasonable to wait until Apple implements the possibility to return to Ios Ios 6 to 7? And how soon it can be done?
Sorry for my english, i am from Russia.I have a similar issue. I recently purchased an iPad Mini, and I started off by backing it up from the apps I had on my iPhone. Now, I have a number of apps that never downloaded and that I don't want on the iPad. Some of these are apps that I don't need, while others are the iPhone versions of apps. There are something like 23 apps that I have no use for, but iTunes tries to install every time I connect. I've also tried clicking the 'Will Install' buttons. There's no way to delete these apps from the iPad without first installing them, as far as I can see, and there's no way to NOT install them, in iTunes.
It''s not just annoying, it's causing problems with installation of larger files and movies. Now, every time I sync to the computer, I get a warning that I'm over capacity by 580 MB, and larger apps will not install! Clicking Revert and a bunch of other things doesn't work, either. And I can't just delete some of the apps, because I or my wife use them on our phones! -

Lots of people having this problem? Hmm. For what it's worth I haven't seen that problem on my iPad 3
This is a user to user forum so no one here would have any idea whether there is a real problem and, if so, whether Apple is working on a fix.
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off". -

You would think that it must have some effect on the battery, but oddly enough, the update to iOS 8 actually helped my battery life, in spite of all of these hinky little issues that are taking place. In my experience, the activity icon is not affecting the battery in a negative way.
Another issue with IOS 8.1 that you may have seen is the loss of icon pictures on home pages. I get what I call a test screen similar to what you used to get on old tv sets on every one of my personal icons.
I know exactly what you mean. I got that as well. On a few of them, when I opened the websites using the generic test screen icons and then closed them, they changed back to the way that they should look. For the ones that did not change, I recreated the home screen shortcuts and deleted the generic looking ones - the test screen icons.
And don't get me started on iBooks.
For the very limited use that I make of the iBooks app, i haven't noticed any problems, but I rarely use the app. I don't read books on the iPad other than a few user guides and if they are pdf guides, they reside in more reliable and feature rich pdf apps on my iOS device.
I wish that I had the fix for the spinning activity icon, but everything that I try, is temporary at best. IMO, this is the buggiest iOS update that I have seen, and I have been using iOS devices since iOS 3 on my first iPad. I realize that there are plenty of people that are not experiencing issues, but I have seen a number of weird things that I wish I could fix. None of my problems are major, but they are annoying. -

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Downgrading is not an option for an iOS device. -
I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?
I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view. -
No valid license found after IOS upgrade on C3750x switch

Two switches below are working fine as a stack with IOS c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5.bin & ipbase license.
Switch#1 (Master, WS-C3750X-24P-S)
Switch#2 (Member, WS-C3750X-24P-S)
After IOS Upgrade to c3750e-universalk9-mz.150-2.SE7.bin, The stack was broken. Switch#2 didn’t recognise valid ipbase license with new IOS and came up with lanbase license instead. Therefore stack cannot be composed due to license mismatch between Switch#1 (ipbase) and switch#2(lanbase).
I’m wondering why Switch#2 didn’t recognise ipbase license with new IOS even though IPASE is running well with previous IOS.
Here is excerpt from “show version” with 15.x image on Switch#2.
License Level: lanbase
License Type: Default. No valid license found.
Next reload license Level: lanbase

I have fixed the issue by configuring 'license boot level ipbase' on the member switch#2. The switch recognised IPBASE license well and joined the stack successfully. -

Installing an iOS update does not add a physical button.
As for the "No SIM" message, try removing and reinserting the SIM or replacing the SIM. -

After I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 I can't sync iPad mini with PC (on Windows XP). I keep getting the folowing message: "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchase items on this iPad". I tried everything:
1) De-authorizing and rebooting (about 100 times);
2) De-installing and reinstalling itunes;
3) Deactivating the firewall;
4) Run Diagnostics (result - all works fine including sync);
5) Tried to look for the "SC info" directory or file everyone is referring to in the Computer (Hidden files) of the iTunes directory - nothing;
6) Ticking and unticking the |Sync over Wi-Fi" option;
7) Changing backup from iCloud to this Computer and back.
I am using the admin account on my PC - doesn't help.
I cannot sync anything at all.
BTW - on the PC and on the iPad - everything that is there plays OK. I can get stuff from iStore both from iPad and from the PC - but I can't sync the two.
It looks like an iOS 7 bug to me - any ideas or advice?

D.No I have tried multiple connections, at home, at work, and even at my church but to no avail. For example I have recently purchased a CD from Itunes using my computer, but my ipad will only play it from the cloud. I've tried to download straight from my Ipad and that too does not work. When ever I try to plug the Ipad into the computer a window pops up and says that the sync has failed. If I try to drag the file to the Ipad it will say it's loading than just quit before it transfers. hmmm. I hope they get this bug fixed some. would really like to have that CD to isten to on the go. Another issue I am no having is the apps are having trouble updating. I have tried to turn off auto update and do it manually and that too is failing.

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings -
Trying to reinstall apps on ipad after ios upgrade but not downloading.
Just upgraded both my ipad 1 and iphone 4 to iOs 5 and both had all the apps deleted after the upgrade. I'm manually reinstalling the apps but while the apps download and install fine on my iphone they are hung up in the "waiting" mode on my ipad. Checked and the ipad is connected to the internet since I can surf the web still on the ipad. Anyone else having issues like this?
Change to the correct store this way.
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID
Tap your ID
Tap View Apple ID
Enter your password
Go to country/region in the popup window to change the store.
Or swipe down to he bottom of the App Store in the featured tab and tap on your Apple ID. Sign out of your ID and then sign in again and see if that changes the store for you.
