Where's the answer to MarieElisabeth's question? I changed my password on my Hotmail email account last night. This morning could not use any IPad function as the password(s) I try in the password request for the Exchange Account "Hotmail" are all incorrect. I cannot access settings and even "rebooting" the IPad by turning it off and turning it back on doesn't help get rid of the password request action window. Any other suggestions?

IPad Mail exchange account configuration problem

I am trying to configure an exchange account using iPad mail. When I input my information and hit next, the iPad dims the screen and says "verifying." Then the iPad stops verifying and the next button is gray and doesn't work. The only option is to cancel. How can I get this account configuration to work?

I'm having the same problem... and after it hung on verifying for a while it said "Unable to Verify Certificate - the certificate autodiscover.acme.com could not be verified. [Accept/Cancel]" I accepted it, then it asked for the server name (or maybe I just forgot to enter it in the first place). I entered it and now I'm good to go...

Multiple from: emails with exchange account?

Hi:
I use gmail for my mail, which allows me to have multiple "from:" addresses, which I need for several different purposes. When I had this set up as an IMAP account on my iPad (iPhone, too), I was able to enter in the settings for that account multiple email addresses,and mail would allow me to choose which one to use in each message (yes, it would use a default, which I could then change as needed)
I then changed my setup to use gmail as an exchange account (google recommends this). I entered the same list of emails in the email field in settings for the account, and it saved just fine,
I then noticed that mail would not let me choose any but my default address, and when I checked in settings, it had removed all but the first email I listed.
Is there a way to get the iPad's exchange account to accept more than one email address?

UPDATE - the emails have not reappeared! It must have taken a moment to re-sync

It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? Receive "password Incorrect" message "Exchange" account?

Try this to get the iPad to function again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
After the iPad boots up - try this for the password issue.
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Password incorrect -exchange account.

I have tryed to sing in to my ipad2 and cannot sign in so cannot get to my settings , mail, or anything. I have a box that shows password incorrect. Says to enter the password for the Exchange Account"hotmail".
I do not understand this as before I could always sign in with my password with no problems. How do I solve this. I do not have an iphone. My ipad is the last version befoe the newest came out.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

How do I set up an exchange account on my iPad?

I had an account set up and it kept telling me my password was wrong so the advise was to delete the account but I forgot to copy down all the other fill in the blanks.

I know that some exchange servers block mobile devices, but I've been using an app called "Outlook Mail Pro" (click here) on my iPad successfully with multiple Exchange accounts for a long time now. Exchange account asks for password

Hello all,
I added an exchange account to Mail and when I at work it works fine. I can check my emails, look at the calander, contacts sync, notes can be accessed, and reminders show. When I leave, Mail continously asks for my credentials nd can not connect. I ran the connection doctor and the status light is red and the details say the following; Trying to log in to this Exchange account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct. The inforation I enter is correct or else I would not be able to use my laptop at work.
As a side note, I have the account connected to the account on my iPad and iPhone and they are not having any issues connecting to the server or recieving and sending email. It does have a domain name entered in the account on both and I can not see anywhere to enter a domain name.
Does anyone know how to connect an Exchange account that works on the iOS devices but has issues off site on computer?

Just found out that the Mailbox server Microsoft Exchange version is 8.3.83.0 and the Authentication type associated with this Outlook Web Access session is NTLM.

One day my iPad worked fine; the next day it asks for a password for the Exchange account. I can't access anything because the pop-up "Password Incorrect" window and the keypad are all that I can use.

Are you talking about the Exchange Account email? If so, its the one you log in with.

On my PC I simply have a master return email address and use a POP for the secondary address. Both are through the one exchange account without a problem. I need to be able to do the same on my Ipad.

Ah, I should have made that clear. My domain didn't come from google. It was purchased at and is hosted at dreamhost, but I haven't used their email servers in years - I just route everything through gmail. I actually have a bunch of domains (with websites).
Gmail has an option that lets someone with custom domains send (and receive) email through gmail using the custom domain once Google confirms proper ownership of the domain (to prevent spammers and such). Gmail has a setting for "send email as" which allows gmail to be sent using a custom domain as the sender. I'm pretty sure Apple's old mobileme had this feature too, but I didn't use it.

Can anyone explain to me how to transfer emails from my iphone to a PC.
The only catch is that the email account exchange password and account has been cancelled.
However as some of you may know your emails still remain on the iphone.
It means you can acces them and seach through your emails.
I want to be able to place these emails on to a PC.

Everytime I open my email the password Incorrect screen appears. It says "Enter the password for the Exchange account "Exchange"". I have a second email address that was being transferred to my Iphone, but when I lost my original phone and replaced it this July, I hav'nt been able to retrieve this old password. The Apple store rep said to contact Microsoft for this info, but that's next to impossible!! I had a very old hotmail account but that's been closed for over two years, and my other email adress has nothing to do with them. So I'm at a loss on how to change this password??
