IPAD passwords

Can I use a password on my email accounts but not on the ipad?

You can't in the Mail app - you can either see if any of third-party email apps have a password setting, or just access your account via Safari (you can create a Safari homescreen shortcut for your account's login page).

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

    Help would be much apreciated

If you sync with iTunes, you may be able to restore the iPad using the computer that you sync with in order to restore the device and you may not lose anything at all.
    Take a look at this.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled - Apple Support
If that doesn't work, there is no built in way to extract files from the iPad anyway. A third party software would be needed to do that.
I have never used this, but I have seen it discussed on the forum.

  • My ipad password doesn't work when I want to go into Itunes. Are they they same?, My ipad password doesn't work when I want to go into Itunes. Are they they same?

We are trying to buy from itunes store and have reset the password on the market can you please advice if the itunes password is same as ipad password. Why can't I get to store?

I assume that you mean the iTunes account password and the password to unlock the iPad itself when you are asking this question. They would be the same if you set them to be the same only you can answer that
Go to settings>Store>Apple ID and tap on sign out. Then sign in again and enter the new(reset) iTunes account password there. See if you can purchase after signing in again with the reset password.

  • I forgot my ipad password. My Ipad is disabled what can i do

I forgot my ipad password so my ipad is disabled what can I do to get it activated.

Entering your Wifi password will not - unless I'm missing something completely - disable your iPad. The only thing which will disable your iPad that I'm aware of is entering your passcode for iPad incorrectly multiple times.
If this is the case then please see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If you have forgotten your password for your router the WPA or WPA2 key as it's also known as they you will need to log in to your Router and setup a new WPA(2) key.

  • HT1430 i forgot my ipad password how can i do?

i forgot ipad password and i can't play anymore because it not my ipad it school ipad how can i do?

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, you will need to restore the iPad from the computer to which the iPad is synced. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPad into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If this is a school-owned iPad, though, you may need to have your school help you with this problem, particularly if they loaded apps on it that you don't have on your own computer.
    Regards.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • I forgot my iPad password and I have tried to restore it but I am unable to because it says it is unable to because i'm connected to Find My iPad!

I forgot my iPad password and I have tried to restore it but I am unable to because it says it is unable to because i'm connected to Find My iPad! I need to get onto my iPad because for some assignments I use my iPad. I want to preferably factory reset it.

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

i forgot my ipad password and my ipad is bloked, can you tell me what i can do

There is only one solution.  You will have to restore your iPad via your computer in iTunes.  Do not restore from backup as you can't remember your password.  You'll have to restore as a new device and resync everything all over again.  Next time, write your password down for future reference.

  • What do i do?  I forgot my ipad password and so i can't use it?

what do i do?  I forgot my ipad password and so i can't use it?

Have you ever connected this iPad to your computer? Looked at the manual (it is bookmarked in Safari)?
    1. Use the USB cable that came with your iPad, connect one end to the dock on the iPad, the other end to your computer.
    2. When iTunes on your computer opens, click on the name of your iPad. It will appear on the very left hand frame under the heading DEVICES.
    3. Move to the right and make sure the tab that says Summary is open. Look down on the page and you will have a selection for Restore. Click it.
    4. When asked select Restore as a new iPad, not Restore from Backup.
    5. Wait for the Restore to finish. Do not interrupt it before it is done or disconnect.
