Ipad/PC App Using Dropbox?
I want to take notes, using a Wiki interface to be able to create linked pages of my notes on the fly.
What I want to make this work is a Wiki App for my Ipad and PC where both apps edit the wiki stored in my dropbox account. So I have access to create and browse my notes pages at my desk or on the move.
Is there such an Ipad/PC app to make that possible?

I've been looking for the same thing, and happened across this thread while searching for this kind of app / solution. I think the problem of supporting any kind of data structures across web, iOS and Windos platforms is harder than it would seem. I'm a long time Evernote user, and it's great for some uses, where you just want some place to dump data and search. For example, I just take a pic with my iphone of business cards, then with Evernote's OCR, I can search by name, company, etc. Works great.
But for any use where you want to structure notes or link them, Evernote is pretty useless. The only tools for structuring in Evernote are notebooks and tags. Both are helpful, if limited, and tags would be even more useful if tag hierarchy was supported on iOS apps. But there is no linking capability, so you can't cross reference to related notes, or link back to other notes, you just have to search and plow through the results. I keep hoping the Evernote team will implement some form of linking, but no luck so far.....

Thank you!If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
If you haven't already downloaded the updates to your computer's iTunes then select the Apps part of your iTunes library and click the Check For Updates button at the bottom of it. When they've downloaded, select the iPad 'device' on the left-hand sidebar and on the right-hand side on the Apps tab click the Sync button at the bottom right of it - that should copy the updates over and onto your iPad -
Ios7 iPad Mail App Using 2.3 GB???
My ios7 iPad mail app is using 2.3 GB despite deletion of all mail from all accounts. Why? How do I correct?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know that situations like this can be very frustrating and you have already done a great job with troubleshooting already. One further step that I would recommend would be forcing the Mail application to close and then open it fresh. Please use the attached article as a guide.

I have an iPad 2 and used old Apple ID for iBook app; now it wants to upgrade iBook but it is "stuck" on my old ID, yet I already created a new ID but it won't let me update the App. I have everything backed up on my MacBook so if I delete iBooks on my iPad and retrieve the App under my new ID and then sync with my MacBook, will I still have all of the books, etc.?
Your purchases are tied to your Apple ID. If you bought all of the books with the old ID then AFAIK you will have to continue to use that ID in order to continue to sync those books to the iPad.
You have to update the app with the old ID so I don't see how you could keep the books with the new ID. Maybe I am wrong about this, but someone else will chime in I'm sure and correct me if I am wrong. -
I just got an iPhone 5S, now when I try to use my old iPad the apps won't work because they are syncing with my new phone. Can I have the same account for an old iPad and a new iPhone?
Connect your iPad to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

I want to buy an Apple TV device but I need to be sure of its benefits. I have contracted a Satellite TV. Is it true that if I connect Apple TV to system, I can watch TV in my IPad wherever by using wireless and App Remote??
If you have an iPad 2 you can wirelessly mirror it to your TV via the ATV device. If you have an iPad 1 then you can use airplay but not all apps are enabled to push video, as the developer needs to do this.
You can also view all local content from iTunes or your iPad, pushed via airplay/home-sharing.
The other services available are iTunes movie rentals, TV shows (past purchases viewable from the cloud), Photo Stream, Netflix, Vimeo, Podcasts, Youtube, Sports etc.

Help - have an iTunes account on iPad for well over a year. Just bought iPhone 5 and I cannot purchase apps using my account. I am asked to verify my credit card and details but then it rejects them. They are still fine on the iPad. Any ideas?
I tried to contact support but they do not recognise my Thai phone number.
the Thai support site is all in Thai (and I neither read or write it).
All I want is a single email address that works - it must be quite a simple process.
I don't want to create another account with another credit card - life will just get seriously complicated then.
BTW my apple I'd is accepted for downloading free apps!!!First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

I just bought an iPad 2 - I plugged it in to my home PC and downloaded a couple of apps using my wife's iTunes account. Since I bought the device for work, I then set up my own iTunes account on my office PC. The problem I am having is that none of the apps I downloaded in the new account appear on my iPad. I can see them on screen #2 in iTunes and I know how to swipe to get to that screen.
I've tried everything mentioned - I authorized my office computer (but not my home one - could this be the problem?). I turned on home network file sharing. Checked to make sure parental controls are off. I'm not sure what to do next.When you installed iTunes on your work computer, then connected your iPad to that computer, it wiped what was on the iPad, then put the iTunes library (nothing) from the work computer onto the iPad. You can try copying the iTunes folder from your home computer over to your work computer, but since the apps were bought with a different account, they may not load or update properly.

How can I use Dropbox with pages for the iPad?
TO make a long story short, a thunderstorm fried my desktop iMac which was the computer I was sharing my Pages documents with. I don't have an AirPrint compatible printer and I need to be able to print documents that I create in Pages. Since it might be 6 months or more before we can replace the old computer, I would like to use DropBox to share files between my windows computers and the ones at where I volunteer. I was told that Pages for the iPad was compatible so how can I make this work for me?

I have lost sound on my iPad in apps unless I use headphones ,does anyone know how to get sound back without them .I have used the mute volume on the bar at bottom of screen and the slider volume control there only shows when headphones are plugged in !
I also tried resetting settings all to no avail ...I looked up some advice and watched utube video advice on how to fix without success..

The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x? -

As the King says, if your friends wifi router was relatively new, it likely has not been picked up by Apple's location based information database system and thus there is no location information associated with it. So your iPad had no way of getting its location.
The wifi location databases are traditionally updated by wardriving - literally companies employ people to drive around sniffing out active wifi signals and associating an approximate location to it. Some companies also have web sites to submit that information if owners wish to (Apple does not seem to have one though), and the various companies with wifi location databases buy and sell their information. Bottom line is though, it can take weeks, months or sometimes even longer for a residential router to get picked up - depends on where you live (more rural, likely the longer time it takes).
When I moved from VA to NC it took up to 6 months for mine to reflect my new location (I checked it once the week I moved in, and then periodically thereafter, and it finally was getting it right after about 6 months) and I live in a pretty densley populated area (triangle NC). -
I want my new iPad mini to use my new Apple ID, not the old one that pops up without seemingly giving me the choice to update the Apple ID user name; as a result I haven't been able to update my APPS for some time. I changed my apple ID when I got a new e mail address a few months ago .
Any apps you have installed from the old AppleID will always be tied to that AppleID. You have no choice but to enter the password for the old AppleID if you want to update apps downloaded using that ID.
The only way to stop being asked for the password for the old AppleID is to remove all apps from the device that were downloaded using that old AppleID.
You'd then need to re-download (and re-purchase) any apps you want to keep using under the new AppleID.
Apps cannot be transferred between AppleIDs. -

Why does an iPad (1st gen) using iOS 5.1 and the Photos app not send a single photo to a projector while a slideshow is sent photo by photo?
I am not 100% sure, but i believe the iPad only does mirroring when connecting with AppleTV. AV cables will output audio and video out the bottom of the iPad (30-pin connector) to a TV/monitor, but the iPad screen itself will only show video controls (play/pause, FF, RW, Done, Progression bar). If your cables say otherwise I am interested to know what brand they are and where you got them. If you are not getting any video at all the cables are probably not Apple approved and dont have the special chip in the 30-pin connector that allows for video transition.

Anyone with the same problem? I tried everything 'app support' tells me except deleting and reinstalling the App because I have a lot of files that I'd lose. Recommendations anyone? [email protected]
