Ipad photo and video transfer

Hello,
I have an ipad that I received from my mother. I am trying to save her pictures and videos to her laptop, so I can clear the ipad completely. When I connect it I am able to transfer the pictures that she took with ipad, but the other ones (ones she received through email, text or transferred from another computer) I am unable to copy to my PC. It wont even recognize them on the laptop. It is the same way with the videos. I have searched and searched the last few days but I am getting frustrated.
Does anyone have any experience with this or tips or advice?
Thanks

If the pictures are only attached to the original e-mail message then (1) you can't transfer them off the iPad since they're not in the iPad's Camera Roll, and (2) you probably don't need to transfer them since the e-mail would be available to her via other means (e.g. computer, new iPad, etc.)
If the pictures from text messages were not saved to the iPad, then they only exist in the Messaging app and cannot be accessed for transfer.  You'd have to go to each message with a picture and then save it to the iPad's Camera Roll (tap the picture, then select one of the operations to Save to the iPad, or e-mail it to someone).  If you save the picture to the iPad, then they can be transferred just as if she took the pictures with her iPad's camera.  Note that unlike pictures in an e-mail message, pictures attached to a text message won't transfer to another device so if these are important you need to save them to Camera Roll and transfer them, or select the option from within Messaging to e-mail them to her.
For the pictures "transferred from another computer" what do you mean?  Where are they stored on the iPad itself? (i.e. how do you view them?)

  • HT4221 My ipad photos and video are not in any order.

I have a series of photos and videos that I am using Sync Photos, and it loads them in completely absurd orders, different each time I've attempted. It does not follow the naming convention nor the dates in the order it has.
My first sync, the photos were in order, then the video but I wanted both intermixed, following the name of the file and not the .jpg or .mov.
I am syncing from a windows pc using Windows Vista.
I tried using the app Photo Manager Pro, and it has the audacity to rename the files too! So the order there is whacked.
Is there any common sense solution to this, so you know, I can use a modern apple device to view photos and video, in order?

I have looked a little bit more, and it seems as though the video is lagging behind, not the other way around. Video seems choppy, but the audio is playing perfectly. Music Videos are suffering from the same problem as well. Also, when I sync to my iPod Touch 16GB, audio & video match up perfectly.
I still have no idea how to fix this. Please help.

  • IPad photos and videos

When sending photos or video, the contact receives them upside down?  How does this happen and can it be corrected on my end?

I repeated the experiment and got the same results. All four of the photos were in the correct orientation when I emailed them to myself.
Really all that I know about this subject is what I have read here in the ASC and from doing a little research using Google. And beleive that's not much. There are a lot of experienced photography people that post on the iPad forum and I hope one of them chimes in.
But I believe that all of the metadata is stored in the photo and the orientation of the photo is part of that data so the orientation should be set in stone so to speak.
These will explain this better than I can ever explain it.

  • ICloud Photo Library: How do I transfer photos and videos only from my iPhone to my iPad but not from my iPad to my iPhone?

I had iCloud photo libraey turned on on both my iPad and iPhone. As said by the feature, photos and videos were being transferred automatically from each device to each other. I have a 64GB iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 5 only has 16GB of storage so I am lacking much more space on my iPhone than my iPad. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer photos only from my iPhone to my iPad but not from my iPad to my iPhone. Would turning off iCloud Photo library on my iPad do the trick? Thanks hope someone can help me out.

iCloud Photo Library keeps all of your photos in the Cloud which you then can selectively download. So, unless you download the iPad photos, they are not going to be taking up any room on your iPhone:
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your iOS device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. iCloud Photo Library stores the original, high-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and can keep lightweight, device-optimized versions on each of your devices. As long as you have enough storage, recent photos and videos that you access the most will stay on your device at full resolution.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You need an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.

  • How to transfer photos and video from MacBook to ipad

How do I transfer photos and video from laptop/MacBook Pro to my iPad. Also how do I download videos from internet to my iPad.

You can sync photos and videos to your iPad via your computer's iTunes.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If the videos are films that you want to go into the Videos app then you first need to add them to your computer's iTunes library via File > Add To Library, and you can then use the Films/Movies tab to select and sync them

What format are the videos in that you want to download, and have you got an app on your iPad that supports that format ?

With supervised ipads, what is the best way to transfer photos and videos to the PC? Wireless transfer is not an option in our circumstances.

There are only two ways of transfering things on the iPad.
      - via WiFi
      - via usb cable
From what I have read, you need to connect to iTunes on the supervising PC.

  • How do you transfer photos and videos from a failing iPad 3 to a laptop and/or other device?

Our iPad 3 is failing and we want to keep the photos and videos. Is there a way to easily transfer the photos and videos to a PC laptop, another iPad like iPad Air, or other device or location?   Is it possible to use a USB drive?  What accessories are required?

All you have to do is connect your iPad to the computer using the USB cable. If it has photos in the Camera Roll it will be recognized by the computer as a camera and you can load the photos to your computer.

  • How do I get my wife's photos and video from her iCloud to my iPad?

How do I get my wife's photos and video from her iCloud to my iPad. She no longer has an iDevice and I want to retrieve some really sentimental photos and videos of my grandson. I've logged on to her iCloud account on my iPad, but don't know what to do next.
    Thanks
    Tony

Her camera roll photos and videos would be included in her backup.  Restoring her backup to the iPad should recover them.
Start by creating a current backup of your iPad that you can restore your data from later.  It's faster if you do this on your computer using iTunes; if you can't, create a backup in your iCloud account.  If you can back up to your computer, do this by connecting the iPad to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Back Up.  Then go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
Then erase the iPad and restore her iCloud backup as explained here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521.  When it's done, import the recovered photos and videos to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Then erase the iPad again and restore the backup you made earlier, either from iTunes or from iCloud depending on where you backed it up.
If you want the photos back on the iPad, put them in a folder and sync them to your iPad by selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  If you want to videos back on your iPad, import them to your iTunes library (File>Add to Library), then sync them to your iPad from the Movies tab of your iTunes sync settings.  You will then find them in the Home Movies section of the Videos app on your iPad.  Just so you are aware, photos that you sync to your iPad can only be removed later by syncing them off your iPad (by deselecting the folder on the Photos tab and syncing again).  They can't be deleted on the iPad itself.

  • HT201269 why can I not get my photos and videos stored on my iphone to import to my new Ipad Air?

Why can I not get my photos and videos stored on my iPhone to import onto my new iPad Air ?

We don't know how to answer because we don't know what you are doing.
I can tell you that you cannot connect the two devices together to transfer content. And videos do not work in Photo Stream, but it does work for photos. However, you can only stream photos to the device after you have enabled photo stream on the iPad. Any photos that were already on the phone - before you turned on Photo Stream -will not sync to the iPad.
Look at this app for the videos.
