Ipad Photo - Making File Size Smaller for emailing

How does one make pics smaller (file size) for emailing?

The Photo Pad app allows you scale the photo. I just checked and it does also reduce the file size. You can email the scaled photo from the app.

Is this possible within Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0?

Yes. When you send an email from PSA SE, you have a choice of sizes. It will make a temporary copy for the email.

  • Make PDF file size smaller for scans

I'm using a fairly high DPI setting on my scanner.  Is there anyway to adjust the size of the PDF file after the scan??? Or do I have to adjust the scan settings to a lower DPI?? Thanks!

Yes, in Acrobat, run the PDF Optimizer and select: Images > Image settings
and select the downsample settings to suit your needs for the type of image the scan is (color, grayscale, monochrome).

Haha yes i forgot that you may not be using Apples Mail. Lets try the export then file>export, then under the heading "format" click JPG. Then click "scale images no larger then:" in the width field type "800" then the height field should change by itself. Thats what i do for emailing, it's usually the best trade between quality & size, that should be small enough to email. Best wishes JAG
P.S. when you first click "scale images no larger then" what's already in the width height fields? thats your actual photo resolution.

  • File Size Options when emailing

My old blackberry used to give you the handy option of reducing the file size of photos when emailing (small, medium and orignal).  I can't find this option on the Q10 and its not set out in the user guide.  As such, all photos are being emailed at full resolution which is costly from a data perspecitve when off wifi.  Has anyone discovered the trick for reducing flie sizes when emailing or do we need to wait for an op systyem update?  Cheers.

    Hey JDSUK,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
My apologies, when attaching a file in BlackBerry Hub it will send it at it's full size.  You can however ZIP a file which will make the file size smaller.  Check out this Blog post for more information: http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/06/blackberry-10-working-with-zip-files/
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Photo Book file size

    Hi!
What's a normal file size figure for a standard doublesided photo book in large format? I just compiled and sent away a book, and the file that was uploaded was around 13Mb. I thought that was kind of small and became worried that perhaps I had a less then optimal resolution preference set somewhere (I've done the DPI hack thing), but perhaps they usually turn out in this size. Any expericened Photo Book maker who can confirm?
    Thanks a lot!
    Erik

That may be about right. I just created a large, double-sided, 60 photo, 29 page pdf book thru the ordering process (canceled at the last window) that came in at 18MB. The pdf's that were generated with iPhoto 5 were much bigger .

  • Files size limit for vimeo upload

    Hi,
There is a warning sign that says ''publishing movies bigger than 5 GB may fail''. Why is that ? I have a vimeo pro account (I can dowload up to 20 GB per week. Does vimeo have file size limits for uploads ?

hello, I did some research on this question and found this:
"Vimeo does not have a maximum file size for uploads, however, there is a maximum of 500MB of uploading per week, making the maximum file size effectively 500MB. That's with a free account; if you pay to join Vimeo Plus the maximum weekly upload limit raises to 5GB"
So, maybe you can try to convert your video to another format in small file size? Or maybe you can trim video to make it smaller.  If you want to try these suggested methods, this software can help you out: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/video-mate/id592736614?ls=1&mt=12

  • Resizing photos to file size.

Hi all, I'm trying to resize a pic to 10 k file size for use as an online avatar. Ideally I'd like to keep it around 100 by 135 pixels. In Windows this is very easy but in the amazingly overhyped and under-featured iphoto it appears to be well nigh impossible. Any ideas on how to do this for someone who desperately wants to stay in osx but increasingly finds App apps unfathomably obtuse? Thanks for your time.

Yep, been there done that but no joy. There's no mention of re-sizing a photo by file size in the help file and no ability to do so in Export. And to tell the truth, having to export to re-size is really clunky not to mention, somewhat erratic. I managed to get the file down to 8 kb by reducing it to 45 x 45 pixels but that's too small. My next size was around 105 x 140 and came in at 20 kb. I attempted to reduce the file size by reducing the photo size in stages down to 60 x 80 but the file size would increase rather than decrease. Any useful input?

How can I increase the file size limit for outgoing mail. I need to send a file that is 50MB?

You can't change it, and I suspect few email providers would allow a file that big.  Consider uploading it to a service like Dropbox, then email the link allowing the recipient to download it.

Is this a change from the way it was? Is this on e-mail received or that you are composing? If received, whoever sent you the e-mail may have chosen a small font size. Try selecting the text and use the command - + to make it bigger.

  • Is there a file size limit for images in keynote on a mac?

Is there a file size limit for images in keynote on a mac?

If you right click on the file (navigate to it using finder, or if it is in iCloud you should open keynote, File -> Open and you should see a list of your iCloud keynotes) then press command+i, you'll pull up the info tag which will tell you the file size.
Keynote also has an option to Reduce File Size  (File -> Reduce Files Size) but I do not recommend it at all because it will severely degrade the quality of your pictures.
It's also possible to reduce an individual image's memory size in your keynote by right clicking it and selecting Reduce Image File Size).  This is more time-consuming but allows you to see if the degraded photo quality is still good enough, and you can always undo it.

How can I make the pdf file size smaller?

    Hi vickyb,
Reducing the file size of PDF requires Acrobat (one way is by choosing File > Save As > Reduced Size PDF). If you don't have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

  • How to compress file 32+ mb for email attachment

how to compress file 32+ mb for email attachment, after I used compress it's still shows 29 mb. Is there another step I could do. I am new with MAC so please forgive if this sound simple and stupid question.

You simply don't attach that file to email.  Even if you could cut the size by half, that's still way too big for email.  Many mail servers will remove attachments over a certain size, and for most of those that size is below 10 MB.  Find another way to share that file, like a web server or Dropbox or something along those lines.

  • File size limit for webdav upload

    Dear Experts,
we set up what we thought to be a restriction of the file size allowed for upload. We did this in the portal via
System administration --> system configuration --> Knowledge Management --> Protocols --> WebDav --> Max WebDAV request size: 15728640 bytes.
We would have expected that to not allow us uploading any files larger than 15 MB. Turns out we were wrong and it does not work. Here is a http-trace of an upload of a 21 MB file.

Would anyone know any other way of preventing the upload of large files via a webDAV client?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
This cannot be possible in portal but you can upload the max size file through portal drive or webdev . Through portal drive you can upload 50mb or any format file size you can upload through portal but portal you cannot upload you can get the message of file uploading failure or connectivity issues like these messgae appears at every interval so go through the portal drive or webdev.
But best option for uploading huge file size is Portal drive. This will helpful for you.
    Regards
    RS
