IPad photos not in same order as on MBP; some events not in sequence

two problems with syncing my photos to my iPad:
1) I have about 20 events that are appearing at the top of my events (old events appearing at the top before the rest of the sequence below, which is in newest-at-top order;
2) photos are in oldest first sequence, even though on the MBP they're set up in newest-first order. IT's a real pain to have to scroll thru thousands of photos to see the newest five!

There are 3rd party apps that allow significant flexibility in sorting photos on the ipad. You'd view them via the 3rd party app and not the standard ipad app.

No. If you don't have the album you originally used to create the galleries you can do so by dragging the photos from each gallery to a new, empty album. Then when you find the photo sharing site/option you have decided on you can easily upload each album to the site.
Another option is to obtain a hosting service and create iWeb photo pages for each album and future albums similar to this photo page in one of my demo sites: iPhoto Book as an iWeb Slideshow. Or you can use the iWeb album page and have an album for each iPhoto album on it like on this demo page: Page-7 .

Importing photos&videos from iPad photos NOT in camera roll

does anyone knows how to import all photos to my mac which are not in my ipad camera roll but in photos.
For now I have around 3300 files and 16 in camera roll. i want to import all 3300 to my mac. i have already the 16 but decided to keep them for now.
I noted that with iphoto IOS in my ipad I can select range of photo to be sent to camera roll.
Is this the best way to import these photos? Again I am looking ipad photos (not cameral roll) to mac...

Keep photos in the same order that they appear in an iPhoto album?

I am uploading photos from an iPhoto album to Google+. I want to keep the photos in the same order that they are appear in the album, but the order is rearranged. ANy idea on how to keep photos in the same order?

If the photos are sorted by file name by Google+ you'll need to rename them in iPhoto via the Photos ➙ Batch Rename ➙ Title to Text menu with the checkbox checked to add a sequential number to the end of the file name:
Export them to a folder on the Desktop via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu with File Name = Use Title:

     All images are visible on my camera. I am using fairly new 32GB CF and SDHC cards. I will see if my card reader makes a difference. I was going over photos I took in 2012 that I have reviewed before and some of them now aren't readable now.

Does not display photos in the same order they appear on my PC

I have photos on my Windows PC running iTunes.
I can successfully get AppleTV to display the photos on my HDTV, but they are not always in the same order as they appear in my PC photos folder.
And I am not displaying the photos 'randomly'.

Spare yourself the frustration, use 3rd party apps like Photo Manager Pro. You can drag your photos around.

In Photoshop V5 -How do I keep photos in the same order when Exporting a Collection to a Folder

In order to resize photos ready for Premiere Elements, I am Exporting my Collection to a folder, from the Organiser.
I then resize that Folder using Process multiple Files.
I then can import that Folder into PE.
BUT, the export seems to change the photo order to an apparent random order.
The Collection is in the right order, and there seems no options in the export dialogue to impact the order in the exported file.

PS I am about to upgrade to version 7, but would like to get my process sorted out before then. maybe 7 does it differently.

The good news is that what you suggest simplifies my process a lot. So thanks for that.
The bad news in the order in still wrong. I.E it's not as the collection order, but it is the same order as the Process Multiple file route!
So a step forward, but not quite there yet.

Ipad photos not sorting correctly

When you synce your photos the Ipad will not sort them by name but in numeric descending order so your photos will not display in the correct order and there is no other way to sort them unless you own a Mac with Iphotos.... Please fix

I contacted an app maker and they are looking into expanding one of their existing photo apps to allow the iPad user to arrange the order.
I think this is mostly a Windows issue, because I read on another thread that iPhoto on macs allow for sequencing and this carries over to the iPad. Also, if the iPad sequencing is done with the date, then they'll have to determine the best method for dealing with this with that app.
If they do add the functionality to their app, I will post the info here.

You indicated that the images "seemed" to be in the right order. It might be a good idea to rename the images on export using a custom name/sequence. If you have done that and the images are still not in order, it's possible that your operating system browsing window is using a different sort order. I sometimes change windows explorer to sort by file type, and then files are sometimes in what seems be a strange order.

If you have all your pics in one folder then open that folder and change the order of them.

You can do it, and it's not done via iTunes. If there are those types of photo on the iPad then your computer should see it as a 'camera' (and it should also appear in Windows Explorer) - there is help/instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

I BELIEVE it orders them in date taken order, not name order.
You can look for a third party app that will allow you to choose/alter the sort order, or use a program to edit the properties of the photos to give them all the same date, which will then allow the iPad to default to name order. I found a free program that'll do that, but you may want to preserve the original dates on your photos so the other photos app might be yoru best bet. I'm not familiar with any but perhaps someone can recommend one to you.

Photos synced from PC to iPad are not in the correct orientation or the correct order.

Photos shot in portrait orientation are rotated on PC, but when synced return to original. Also, photos do not appear in the correct order.

They will be in date modified order, with the Photos app you can't change the field that they are sorted by - you will need to adjust their date modified fields on your computer to be in the same order as date taken.

HT4221 My ipad photos and video are not in any order.

I have a series of photos and videos that I am using Sync Photos, and it loads them in completely absurd orders, different each time I've attempted. It does not follow the naming convention nor the dates in the order it has.
My first sync, the photos were in order, then the video but I wanted both intermixed, following the name of the file and not the .jpg or .mov.
I am syncing from a windows pc using Windows Vista.
I tried using the app Photo Manager Pro, and it has the audacity to rename the files too! So the order there is whacked.
Is there any common sense solution to this, so you know, I can use a modern apple device to view photos and video, in order?

I have looked a little bit more, and it seems as though the video is lagging behind, not the other way around. Video seems choppy, but the audio is playing perfectly. Music Videos are suffering from the same problem as well. Also, when I sync to my iPod Touch 16GB, audio & video match up perfectly.
I still have no idea how to fix this. Please help.

How do I keep the photos that I upload from a folder on my computer in the same order on my ipad?

I have a folder that my iPad sync's with, however when I open up the photos folder on my iPad, the pictures are in a different order than in my folder from the computer? Hello. First, title your photo's in numerial order, in the following format IMG_xxxx.yyy
where xxxx is the number, and yyy is the file type.
For those that are incorrectly orientated go to Photo App and select your folder, then a picture and edit. Rotate the photo as you want it, then hit the checkout arrow at top and select to email it to yourself. In the email you receive, hit the checkout arrow at the top of the page and selct to save photo. Photo will be saved back to photoroll.
Now normally if a root photo is unsynced, moved, or deleted - depending where it is - all other photos that link to it go the sameway.
Here's the workaround.
On your PC sync your device. Then browse to the Start button and select Computer. In the device and disk list select your ipad. The DCIM photo folder is displayed plus one folder. Open this folder. Select your photo you wish to save and choose copy. Open explorer go to your Pictures folder under your user account and create a new folder. Save the copy to the new folder.
When finshed - open your iTunes again, click your device and go to the pictures tab in the window where the summary page is dsplayed. Choose 'Selected Folders' put a tick in all the folders you wish to sync, hit apply and sync. Your photo should now display correctly. Delete all those you dont want. Photoroll photos are deleted via the ipad App, your own are deleted by unsyncing.
If ever you get a folder that will not sync. Untick it in itunes- create a new one and transfer your photos over on yor PC. Resync new folder when finished.
