  • IPad Photo Transfer: Windows Vista Digital Still Camera Driver Failed

    Hi,
I am trying to transfer photos from my iPad to my laptop. When I plug it in to the laptop the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver installs successfully and the Digital Still Camera driver fails. I have previously transferred photos in this way without any problem. When I plug the iPad in to the laptop it does not show up in 'my computer', the iPad is on and the screen is unlocked. Autoplay is on but no menu appears to transfer the photos. The photos I want to transfer have been taken on the iPad. It shows up in iTunes as normal. I can transfer photos from my iPhone to the laptop without a problem.
    This is what I've tried:
    - uninstall iTunes and reinstall
    - restart the computer
    - turn iPad on and off
    - uninstall and reinstall apple device driver (even though it was up to date and said to be working as usual)
    - plugged it in to an old laptop (windows xp) and it worked as expected
    - checked for usbappl.syn in C:\Windows\system32\drivers and it is present
    - uninstalled all Apple content from my laptop and reinstalled it all again
    - repaired the Apple Mobile Device Support program
Any help would be much appreciated, it is driving me crazy!

    Hi
I've had similar problem with my Iphone 8gb 1.1.2 OTB and Windows Vista right from when i purchased it. I tried calling Apple support and tried out all the things that you've done so far and got fed up with it. Now I download my pictures using a third party software called TouchCopy. Apple was not able to identify the issue but it certainly an issue with the OS and not the Iphone. It works like a breeze with my Windows XP PC at home but my laptop doesn't recognize it and it just gives "device installation failed". But curiously for sometime like 15 days ago, the device driver got installed but still I didn't get the camera icon in MY Computer... So if somebody could help... great!!!
And Hail Vista because I've had several driver issues like these and my antivirus is OneCare so I don't think Microsoft could complain about my installations.
    Cheers

  • HT201269 iPhone to iPad photo transfer

    Hi,
My problem is not having a PC. Can someone explain how i can transfer photos from iPhone to iPad and back (if needed).
    So the simple question is:
    1.      Is it possible to transfer photos from one IOS device to another without 3rd party device, App or interfaces?
    2.      How does iCloud come in to all of this?
    Thank you in advance

You can do it with Photo Stream.

  • IPad Photo Transfer Very Slow....???

I'm using my IPad as a spare hard drive / memory chip to store all my vacation videos and photos then transfer them all to my PC in one go when I get home - the only (well, the main) problem is that the transfer rate is extremely slow.  Is this normal ?
I'm using a macbook pro with USB2 and a fat iPad cable, and transferring in Win7.  (Tried image capture in osx, it said "there was a problem" and simply stopped the import part-way through)
My other problem is that all the photos & videos are stored on the ipad in many different directories.  If I search for *.jpg or *.mp4 to group-copy all the files, it won't let me copy them.....I have to copy the contents of each directory individually....
There must be a more straightforward / quicker way than this ?

I am not sure where movies shot with camera or video camera go. I am assuming they would all go into the Photos app on the iPad.
Have you tried just syncing your iPad the normal way in OS X?
Normally, if you have photos in the Photos app on iPad, iPhoto in OS X is supposed to open and it will ask you to import the photos to iPhoto from the iPad. I believe the same is true of the video. If video is stored in the Photos App on the iPad, it should sync and copy to the iPhoto app on Mac OS X.
Once imported, you can always access the original by going to your iPhoto library and either copy the data to a new location for editing (if using different photo editor) or for video, copy those to a new location for video editing, say, in iMovie, or some other video editor.
And I agree with the previous poster, leave the images stored on the cards that it writes to so you will always have an additional backup source of photos or videos in case something goes awry when you try to use your iPad.
The iPad is not really meant to be a portable, mass storage HD just to store tons of content for dumping to a computer later.
It's more a light applications/multimedia, ereading type of device. There are new portable HD's and WiFi portable HDs that you can have connected to an iPad for mass storage use.
Look at ones by Hyper Drive, Seagate or Western Digital.
Anyhoo... Try a normal iPad sync to see if it transfers normally instead of using Image Capture.
    See if this works.
And yes, the transfer rate maybe slow, especially if you shot a lot of video and depending on the resolution you shot your photos in.
    Good Luck!

  • My "places" in photos is working on my phone but not transferred to my iPad in Photo Stream even though the photos transfer. It used to work, so did I do something?

    OK Vicky, good clues...
    See if this helps...
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.
Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...
If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.

  • Transfer ipad photos to iphoto

My friend took 900+ pictures with his camera and transferred them to my iPad using his MacBook Pro.
I am trying to transfer these pictures to my own iMac but iPhoto does not detect them.
How can I transfer these pictures?

If he synced them to your iPad from his MacBook, which he more than likely did, you cannot transfer them into iPhoto by connecting your iPad to your Mac. Synced photos will not transfer to your computer that way. If you had taken the photos yourself and they were in your camera roll that would work, but he imported them into his Mac and then synced them to your iPad.
He can either provide the photos to you on a Flash drive and you can copy them into iPhoto on your Mac, or you can use a third party app to transfer the photos to your Mac.
Here is one WiFi photo transfer apps. You can search for more in the App Store.

  • How to transfer iPad photo album to mac

I had my old imac photo albums sync. to my ipad. Right now, my imac is crashed.  Has it any solution to trasnfer those ipad photo albums  to another mac?

You can not transfer albums - you  can only transfer the photos to the Mac and then use them there
You either use PhotoStream, an iTunes sync or connect the IOS device with a cable and import to iPhoto on the Mac

How do I transfer an album or set of Favorite photos from iPad (IOS7) to Mac (Mavericks)? All the photos transfer just fine, but the categorization seems to be lost.

    No backup?
Get an external drive and turn on Time Machine.
Now im trying to find the way to transfer all photos I have on my iPad and Iphone to the new iMac I have....
You will need a third party app.
Note that the photos are downsized from the original. They are optimized by iTunes and not the same as the original photos on yoru computer.

  • When i use the photo transfer kit with the sd to upload photos i used to have on my phone the ipad say 'no photos to import' but i know there are 300 pictures on the sd card why is it not recognizing the photos?

i want to upload through the photo transfer kit not through itunes and the computer. Thanks

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

There are also WiFi transfer apps that will let you move the photos from the iPad to your computer. Do a search in the App Store for "Wifi Transfer Apps". Wireless Transfer app is the one that I have been using. There others available in the store as well.

How do i Transfer photos from my ipad to SD Card using the Ipad photo kit

I don't think you can directly transfer pictures from your iPad to an SD card using the photo kit.  If you have Windows PC  (with USB port), connect it to you iPad using the Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable. After connecting, open Windows Explorer on your PC and you'll notice that one of the icons is your iPad (as an external drive).  Click on the iPad icon, then Internal Storage, then DCIM. Once you open the DCIM folder, youll see a bunch of folders in it (just like the one below) - that's were your pictures are stored. You can copy and paste these folders (or the files inside them) to you PC or if your PC has an SD Card slot (with card in it), you can copy them there as well.

  • How can I transfer ipad photo to flash drive

How can I transfer mini ipad photo to my flash drive and I brought lightning connection kit but it seem not work. My photo is almost full and don't want to lose it. Can anyone help me PLEASE

Move your excess photos to a cloud service like Dropbox or save them on a computer (which can put them on a flash drive).
You won't be able to do this on the iPad.

  • Photo transfer PC to iPad via SD card not always successful.

Frequently jpeg files I have copied from my PC onto an SD card are not recognized by iPad Photos using the Apple accessory.  I am downloading onto the card each file individually  and not as a folder.  Any ideas please?

Are you creating a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it with filenames exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension ?
