IPad Photostream

Hi,
1. If i take a photo on my ipad and then after a while (without syncing my ipad) delete the photo (on my ipad) will the photo be available on my mac (iphoto)?
2. If i take a photo on my ipad will it back it up to the cloud and then if i delete it can i get it back (from the cloud)??
3. Also if I didn't have iphoto 11 would either of the above work?

If you have a computer that you use with your iPad, photos from the photo statement maybe downloading automatically to the computer and being saved on it depending on if you have it configured to do so.

Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to download all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically.
In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will import into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture.
On your PC with My Photo Stream on in the Control Panel, all of your photos will import into C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream. If you're using iCloud Control Panel 2.1 to 2.1.3, the path isC:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream.
If if the photos were taken with the iPad, they should still be in the camera roll album. If they are not in the camera roll or on your computer, they are gone.

IMac does not recognize all photos in iPad photostream

My new imac does not recognize all the pictures in my ipad photostream. I have over 800 pix in my ipad photostream and imac will only recognize 300 when i have it plugged in to import. Any ideas?

Nevermind, I just spoke with my wife who imported the pictures last night just from that event. She did not delete them after importing either. I guess next time this happens I will uncheck the box that says "Do not import duplicates" to troubleshoot.

Is there any way to copy the iPad photostream onto my phone?

I was recently on vacation and the pictures I was taking on my phone were not being pushed to photo stream. I stupidly turned photo stream off and back on, and lost all of the photos in photostream on my phone. Luckily, the photostream on my iPad is intact. My question is: is there any way I can push my iPad photostream to my iPhone so that my pictures are restored? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try not to look on the photos on the iPad as being in photostream but rather as remnants from photostream, it would be a good idea to save them at the earliest opportunity. You can do this by navigating to the photostream thumbnail page, tapping on the rectangle with the arrow in the top right corner, selecting the photos and then choosing save from the options at the bottom of the page.
Unfortunately getting them into photostream to have them appear on the iPhone is less straight forward. You could take screenshots of each photo, but you really would be better downloading the photos to a computer and adding them to photostream from there.

Iphone 6 videos can't be viewed on ipad photostream

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS8.1.2. I have an iPad4 running iOS8.1.3. I extracted my iPhone 6 video to my PC and tried to sync it into iPad4. However I can't seem to find the video in the iPad 4 photostream. Do anyone have a similar problem?

Thanks. did some further experimenting. I tried to downconvert my iPhone 6 video from 1080p (1920 by 1080) video to 720p (mov) before I sync it with Itunes to iPad. It worked. I can see the 720p video in photos.
2nd experiment: i tried to convert 1080p video from native mov format to 1080p DivX mp4 format. Similarly, this also could not be seen in iPad.
I came to the strange conclusion that iPad4 can't show 1080p videos?? sounds very strange...
Any help is appreciated pls. This is driving me crazy.

Just received replacement iPhone and trying to set up. Can't get photostream photos to show up on new iPhone even though all 1800 pics show up on Mac iPhoto and iPad photostream. What can I do to view my photos on my phone?

Quality of photos - DSLR to Ipad + photostream to iMac

I have recently bought an imac and also have an iphone and ipad. I am trying to improve the way I use photo stream. When I travel I like to upload my images from my DSLR to the ipad and do some quick editing and this also gives me a second copy in case I lose my camera. If I upload to my imac and then Photoshop elements 10 direct from the ipad via the photostream, will I get the same quality images as I would if I loaded the images direct to my computer from the SDHC card?

Apparently the quality remains the same!

A block of photos I took on iPhonedid not appear in my iPad photostream

I took a bunch of photos on my iPhone but they do not appear on my iPad I have photo stream turned on on both devices and both devices are connected to Internet , photos from either side of this block of photos appear but not this event. I can't seem to upload from my iPhone to Picasa

IPad Photostream not syncing

Up until yesterday, my iPad had been syncing photos fine via Photostream.
Now my other devices (iPhone, Aperture on iMac) are still syncing photos fine, but iPad is not.
I've tried turning off and back on Settings > Photo Stream, but no change (except iPad Photo Stream photos now gone).
What's the troubleshooting protocol?

Oh, me too....
So, if you've done the on/off switch thing, then the only other thing that you can try is to switch your view to Albums or Photos on your iPad, and then switch back to the Photo Stream view to see if it is now displaying the newest photos.....
Also, you might want to make sure your Photo app is totally closed on the iPad by doing the double click on the center button to bring up the active apps below the toolbar at the bottom, and then clicking on the "X" for Photos. Then open it back up to see if you see anything....
I checked through past posts, and didn't see any other hints, so give those a try, and fingers crossed!!!

IPad/Photostream mix up photo's

Hi,
I want to present photo's of a reportage to a client using my iPad.
I have the series of pictures on my Macbook.
One serie in color and same serie, but converted to Black and White. The series are in seperate maps.
The color series filenames are: BG_KL_xxx.jpeg
The BW series filenmames are: BG_ZW_xxx.jpeg
I have imported the two maps in iPhoto.
The pictures are streamed (using Photostream) to my iPad.
On the iPad they show up side by side (color version aside of BW version, regardless theye have different filename)
I made two albums on the iPad
-BG_KL
-BG_ZW
and flled the BG_KL album with the color version
When I fill the ZW folder with the black and white version of the pictures, the iPad grabs the color version and put it to the black and white map.
What is wrong here? Doens't the iPad look to the filename? Or are the files renamed once in the cloud?

I guess you'll have to repost all your renamed photos to the stream rather than just rename them on your 'local' mac. They stream, not sync. Like you sync your photos to your iPad via USB or wifi, that is sync, file name changes on iPad once you edit it on mac. But, photostream works more like a 'picture blog', in my opinion. Good luck.

Issue with iPhone to iPad photostream

Hey all,
I have an iPhone 4 and iPad 2, both have iOS5. Both are setup for iCloud. When I take a photo w/the iPad, it shows up on my phone in about 30 seconds. However, when I take a photo with my iPhone, it doesn't show up on my iPad. It goes into my Photostream folder on the iPhone, but as I said, it doesn't show up on the iPad.

I organise my photos in iPhoto on my iMac and use Photostream to put them on myiPad for a presentation. But they appear on the iPad Photostream in a different order. And I cant seem to be able to then reorder them on the iPad. What's wrong please?

Photostream keeps photos in the order they are added.
Photostream wouldn't be my ideal choice for adding photos to your device for the purposes you mention, since it is intended for sharing your latest photos. I'd be inclined to add the photos as an event or album from iphoto by syncing them either by USB or by wifi.

If i set up a new apple id on a new ipad, will the people that used my old apple id on old ipad be able to see the photos in new ipad photostream?

No they won't.
However if you use the same ID and change the password, they won't be able to see them either.

So I accidently went into my icloud settings on my ipad 2 and turned photostream off and then didnt mean to press "delte all photos from your photostream on your Ipad" button.
This then obviously deleted the photos from the ipad photostream and now I just have these blank grey JPEG icons in my photostream now that ive turned it back on.
My photostream on my iphone 4 is still working and I have eveything so obviosuly its just an issue with the ipad.
Since then I've tried a bunch of things......Restarted my ipad, deleted the icloud account and signed back in on the ipad. Turned photo stream on and off again.
I can still see the blank grey JPEG's in photo stream and the ammount of photos but nothing will load back up. Photos wont appear or "sync".
How do I get my photostream back on my ipad 2???

HT201317 Problem Photostream Ipad 3

When I make a photo on my Ipad 3 it comes in my photo album, but not in my fotostream map. Pictures made with my iphone 4 goes to the photostream map, but not to the ipad photostream map via Icloud. If I open the picture app. (standard) on the ipad, then I don't see it synch. It worked fine till a week ago. The settings are correct on the Ipad, iphone and computer. photostream is turned on (3x). I have the latest update of itunes. So problem is with the Ipad. Iphone and computer works fine with photostream.What can I do??

Thanks Colin, but unfortunately I need to use iOS 5.1 for some of my ANE extensions so I can't use that workaround.
Have you heard of other solutions? It would have been nice with an option to support high resolution for iPhone, but not for iPad, since it seems impossible to handle that resolution.

I've noticed two things my Ipad no longer does, If I save an image from an internet graphic file - facebook or whatever, the photo used to be saved to photostream... it no longer saves it to anywhere. Also having made sure all the boxes are ticked with photostream and ICloud and not knowingly changed anything, photos take with Ipad/photostream no longer end up in icloud and available to other machines eg. windows pc. Anyone got any suggestions?
