Ipad playlist to itunes

My macbook pro recently crashed and was without a backup. Currently, I have a new hard drive and when I try to sync my Ipad, iTunes will keep trying to erase the playlists that I have on my Ipad.
Is there a way to retrieve the songs, pictures and playlist off my Ipad which in a way was a backup to my iTunes items?

This only works for purchased content. If the songs were on the iPad as a result of imported CD's, you need a third party app to transfer those. That is why I referenced the TouchCopy Application. That will transfer everything into iTunes. But of course - it isn't free.
There is never an absolute guarantee that your playlists will transfer exactly when you use a process like this - unless you have a backup of the iTunes library or a Time Machine backup. I recently purchased a new MacBook and was able to transfer everything - with no worries at all from my Time Machine backup.
Since you have no backup, you just have to find other ways that will work for you. The discussion talks about all of the possibilities - you just have to decide on how you want to achieve what you want to do. There just is no magical way without a backup of the iTunes library.

  • How do I transfer my iPad playlist to iTunes?

I have the latest version of iTunes and I have an iPad 2. I want to transfer my playlist from my iPad to iTunes without using a third party software. I remember there used to be a way!!  Can anyone help?

I have the same issue and trying to resolve how to transfer cd downloads to itunes from ipad2.
Is 3rd party software the only solution ?
What works the best in doing the transfer ?
I get a kick out of Apple support saying it is a copyright issue that precludes them from allowing this when they endorse the download into itunes !
Please advise on recommended process...I've even thought about going to the Apple Store  and seeing if anyone might offer more help than Apple Support
    Thanks to all,

  • How to export my iPad playlists?

So I bought a brand new MacBook Pro. I transferred the apps I bought on my iPad to my new machine and I now sync my apps, contacts, bookmarks and calendar. No sweat. However, I have a ton of music on my iPad (not bought in the iTunes Store) neatly organized in many playlists. How can I export my iPad playlists to iTunes on my new MacBook Pro? Nothing seems to work. Thank you for answering.

  • I have added an album to my itunes library, put it in a playlist all on my computer, but when I sync my ipad to the computer, the new album doesn't show up on my ipad playlist. Everything else is on there but this one album.

I have downloaded an album in to my iTunes library. And put it in a playlist on my computer.
But I can't get it to sync with my iPad.  The other albums and songs are on the playlist, but not this one album for some reason.
The album shows up on my iPad as an album just fine, but isn't included in the playlist like it is on my computer.
Why won't it show up on my iPad playlist?

    Hello William,
Thank you for the question.  It sounds like you would like to delete some songs off of your iPad.  I have a couple of suggestions.
First, I recommend swiping the individual songs on the album to get the delete option:
Remove a song that’s been downloaded. Swipe left, then tap Delete.
If the you are not getting a delete option and song has a cloud icon to the right of it, this indicates the song is being streamed from iTunes in the Cloud.
You can choose to hide all songs that are not downloaded on to your iPad in Settings:
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.
iPad User Guide - iTunes Match
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad99f373c1
Alternatively, if the song was purchased from iTunes, you can hide the song by accessing the iTunes Store on the computer:
    To hide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
    Go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased from the Quick Links section on the right side of the iTunes Store.
Choose a content type by clicking on Music, TV Shows, Apps, or Books from top.
Hover your cursor over the item you want to hide.
You will see an "X" either to the right or left top corner of the item.
Click the "X" to hide that item. A confirmation dialog will appear once you click the "X."
iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
You will need to quit and relaunch the Music app on your iPad after hiding the purchase on your computer before seeing the changes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Purchased on iPad Playlist not showing in iTunes

My "Purchased on iPad" playlist is missing from the "Store" section on the left in iTunes. Is there a way to put it back?

I received a very helpful email response from leaonmichae (Thanks so much!) but it's not showing up for me when I view this thread. When I click the email link to view this discussion I get a message saying, "Unauthorized. It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested. You might contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake." Any idea what this is all about?
Let me clarify my problem, The response was about transferring sones from my iPod to my iTunes. These songs are not  missing from iTunes. They are in iTunes -- they just aren't in this specific iTunes playlist anymore. but they are in this playlist on my iPod.
Given this new info, any thoughts on solving this problem? Thanks for any help.
(BTW, the info leaonmichae provided will really help me with a long standing problem, how to transfer my iTunes library from my Desktop to Notebook computer. Thanks again for that. :-). Also, after posting this I still only see my two messages with no other responses.

  • HT1347 how do I import a playlist from my iPad to my itunes library on my computer please

Hi can someone please tell me how I can import a playlist from my iPad to my iTunes library on my computer please?

Itunes will only accept mp4 or m4v files. If the file is not this format either rerip it and convert to m4v or mp4 depending on your conversion software. You will also need to tag it explicitly as a movie so it ends up in the right place.
Personally I use Subler for that as it enables me to set The HD setting that shows up in itunes

  • Mystery- how has my old nano been updated with my new playlists in iTunes when I haven't synced it?

I got given a 2gb nano in 2005, which I filled up with imported cd music, not wanting an Apple account and not wanting to pay for music that I already have on cd (was in music industry for years, and like to own the physical product rather than a download that then needs backing up). Anway, lovely bf has bought me a 7th gen 160gb pod for Xmas, so I was merrily organising playlists and preparing to load the whole 45gb of music onto my new shiny ipod. Got my old nano out yesterday, and found that all the playlists that were there have been replaced by the first few new playlists I've made in iTunes. I am not using Match, or thieving Cloud, and I haven't had the nano anywhere near the computer for the last 3 or 4 years! I don't remember registering the nano with Apple, but the new one has definitely been registered (several conversations with Apple because Amazon sent us a "new" iPod that had already been opened, language and clock set to Australian time (the London clock said 9.47pm  YESTERDAY), and replaced it with another "new" one with the same issues (replacement hadn't even been shrinkwrapped, just the bare and slightly battered box).
Is this something that the cloud has done? And if so, how come it's done it to my baby nano, and not to the new Classic 160gb? It means it ran out of space, so effectively it's wiped off all the music that has been on there for years, and replaced it with as much as it could fit on, working from the top of the playlist list........
Having read about how the cloud nicks things and won't let you access them if you disconnect from cloud (not that I'm aware of having connected to the **** thing anyway), I'm now going to have to do a back up so that when I tell cloud to bog off, I can still copy any missing music back into iTunes.
Has anyone got an explanation for how my nano's content has been changed without me doing anything except changing my playlists in iTunes, and has it happened to anyone else?
Also, why did nobody at Apple stop to thing that "pushing" data to all your Apple devices is bound to cause problems when each device's capacity is so different from the others? My iPad is the first and small one (32gb I think), the nano is 2gb, my new Pod is 160gb, and what's in iTunes is 35gb. It's also tried to put my music library onto the iPad, announced there wasn't room (I had already selectively downloaded some music on to it when I got it 2 years ago), and wiped off all the music that was on that. It currently says there's nothing on it BUT also says it's full. I'm not very happy with Apple at the moment!
The only device listed in iTunes is the iPad, dated as Xmas 2010. Should I remove that from there?
iTunes is ALWAYS set to "prevent automatic sync" because until now, I haven't had a device with sufficient capacity to put the whole library on to, so even if I had plugged the nano in, I would have had to have selected the whole library in order for this mysterious over-writing to have happened.
    Answers, anyone?
    Thanks in advance :-)
    Nikki

When iTunes removed the ping feature they replaced it with an internal check on feeds - based on the frequency of new episodes - so your feed may take a week or more to show up the changes.
    http://www.nobodydanceshere.com/blog/feed/podcast/
Looking at your feed it is showing a last build date of 5/26/2012 - so the next time iTunes checks your feed it should update your info.
But since it has been since 2010 since your last update - you do need to wait a bit before iTunes checks your feed again.

  • I have a 5th gen iPod Touch. I have made playlists in iTunes. I need to get them to the iPod. When I had a Classic, it was automatic. You could drag and drop using iTunes music to the playlist in iTunes and it would automatically sync to the Classic.

I have a 5th gen iPoc Touch. In the past, with the Classic, I could drag and drop from my iTunes music to a Classic playlist through iTunes. Now, the playlist I create in iTunes doesn't show on the Touch. I have maybe 29 GB of music on my Touch. I have already created playlists in iTunes that have substantial amounts of songs in each. How can I get those playlists on the Touch without doing a total sync that wipes the iPod? Is there a way to do it?
As well, I am noticing here that my 5th gen iPod doesn't show as a registered device. How do I register it?

  • How can i create a playlist in iTunes and have the playlist show up on iPhone 5

I painstakingly spent a considerable amout of time creating a playlist in iTunes on Windows, and now when I sync my iPhone, and open the Music app, I do not see the playlist at all.  When I select 'On this device' in iTunes, I can see the playlist listed, but a large number of the songs are greyed out, and do not play in iTunes.  These are simply songs I selected from my iTunes library into an iTunes playlist, and I sync'ed my iPhone saying transfer only selected playlists, etc, and now the playlist does NOT show up on the iPhone.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Playlists on iTunes are not syncing correctly with iPhone on iOS 7-only 48 of 134 songs on one playlist are appearing (all songs are checked and I've tried this both hardwire and wireless)...help!

So, I could use help from people who know mre about this than I do. I did a sync last night between iTunes on my Mac (latest version of iTunes) and my iPhone 5 running iOS 7. For some reason, about 90 songs in one of my playlists have disappeared.
The songs are all checked in the playlist in iTunes
The songs were all on the iPhone playlist prior to the sync
I've tried a sync again both by hardwire and wifi
I added a song to the playlist on iTunes and the song appeared in the iPhone playlist, but none of the other 90+ songs came back
I haven't checked my other playlists to see what is there and what isn't (I have lots of music, so this would take days to verify).
I've thought about managing my music manually, but I would have to rebuild everything from scratch on the phone which would take days and I'd never get everything back to the right place.
In as much as I'm otherwise liking iOS 7, the new iTunes app for iOS 7 has been a real pain. This is what's really put me over the edge on it!
If you all have any suggestions that could help, I'd really appreciate it! The playlist I'm referencing most specifically is my most-used playlist and I'd love to have it right.
    Thanks!

    Hi oxman78,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.
