IPad + projector

Hi Can i able view keynote presentation on projector too and if yes what is the resolution

Depends on the projector  video input connection? The are three types of video connector cables that can be brought in the Apple store. Check your projector to see which one you need.

  • App for Editing Excel/Numbers document while using VGA/iPad/Projector

Is there an app that will allow you to edit a spreadsheet while it is projected using the VGA adapter with an iPad connected to a projector? For example, you are doing a budget in a meeting room using the iPad and a projector, and you need to change the entries on a spreadsheet to reflect a change that a group of people choose to make.
I know GoodReader, for example, gives you the VGA out option, so the spreadsheet can be projected, I just need something that allows me to change the document. It would be great if Pages and Numbers offered a VGA out option for this purpose.

There is no app that will accomplish what you want to do.
You can send feedback to Apple here and request this ability: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • IPad no longer working with projector and HDMI splitter after iOS 6.0.1 update

I just installed iOS 6.0.1 this morning.  I use the iPad in my business tied into a projector via an HDMI splitter.
My projector was working fine, I installed the new iOS, and now I can't get the projector to recognize the iPad output.  Just giving me a "no source" message.
    Anyone have any ideas?

You can try these suggestions and see if any work for you. The first one is definitely an iOS 6 only suggestion.
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
Even though you are connected to the Internet, it might help if you reboot your router anyway. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and thenlug it in again.

  • HT201667 I rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it.  Is there any way around this?

I  rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it.  Is there any way around this?

The issue was that a dialogue box came up which said that I couldn't play this movie on another device.  I tried playing the same movie on an Tv with an HDMI connection attached to an adapter to the IPad and that worked.  I wonder if the problem is that the digital projector has a VGA connection.

  • I want to use an IPad (w/retina display-newest) in my church hooked up to a projector

I want to use an IPad (w/retina display-newest) in my church hooked up to a projector and shown on a screen.  I'd like to do it wirelessly as the projector will be installed in the ceiling.  I am not sure exactly what I would need to get this set up. I do not have wifi at church or cellular but would be getting the iPad (not yet purchased) with wifi only.  If I use Apple TV to hook up the projector to, would it need wifi to work if I will only be using the ipad for documents, worksheets (much like what a school/professor would use) or other things that an app could do (draw a line, etc.)

Epson projectors have such a feature, so if you're going to buy a new projector, you might start with their units. The app is described here:
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Landing/ProjectorApp.do
and there's a projector compability list linked from the very bottom of the page. There may be other projector manufacturers with similar apps, but I don't know for sure. All will probably also require a local WiFi network set up, though said network should not need Internet access if that's an issue for you.
    Regards.

  • What accessories are needed to connect my Apple TV to my LCD projector (VGA connectors) in the classroom so that I can mirror my iPad for around the class teaching?

I have been wanting to project my iPad to my class and the only way I have found is to use the connector. However, I would like to remove myself from in front of the classroom and move around the classroom. This encourages students to take notes and not pass notes. This also encourages them to engage in questioning of the lesson, because the teacher is not far removed from them if they're in the back of the classroom. How can I connect? I've read some forums that discuss converters and many who say it needs to be active or powered, but some of these powered converters are nearly two times the amount of the Apple TV. I wouldn't mind paying if this is the suggested way and it works. I don't want to go through several failed and expensive experiments.

There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
    HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
    Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p (if you are using the Apple TV 2)

  • How to connect the iPad to a VGA projector

I read the comments about using the iPad with a VGA projector for presentations, but those were for the original iPad. My association is asking me to present a live demonstration of the new iPad 2. I tested the iPad 2 with the digital connector to HDMI on my TV and that works great. I can move around all the screens on my iPad and even play Angry Birds.
But what about connecting this iPad 2 to a VGA projector? All the earlier comments referred to that process as "very limited" with only a few apps running on it, like Keynote. That won't do for my presentation. Is there a solution or does the new iPad 2 fully support a standard (read old) VGA projector?
    Thank you for your replies.
    Jean Feuillet

It is my understanding that the dgital adapter will give you full video mirroring over HDMI from the iPad 2, although there are some reported models of TVs and projectors that have issues, but that analog signaling, such as VGA, is limited to apps specifically written to provide access to that type of video connection.

You can connect via a cable or wireless using an Apple TV.

  • Can I run my iPad to a projector wirelessly with no internet?

Before I start, you need to know that I don't know what things like "WAN" and "LAN" mean, this seems to be the cause of my misunderstanding so far.  If you could help me out in common English words, that would be fantastic!
I'm a music teacher, I teach the majority of my class through my iPad Air hooked up to a projector through a lightning bolt/VGA cable and run audio down to a speaker system through a standard 1/8 headphone cable.  But I would like to do this wirelessly so I can walk around the room.
Biggest problem I have is no wireless internet at my school.  I have a plan but I don't know if it will work:
Airport Express - I can use this to create a wireless network in my classroom (a non-internet wireless network)...  Is this a LAN?
Apple TV - If my iPad and Apple TV are both connected through the Airport Express, they can play together even with the lack of an internet connection.
HDMI to VGA adapter - I use this to connect Apple TV to the projector.
From what I've seen I think I have to set up the network at home where I have internet.  I need to put the Airport Express into client mode and do something about changing an IP address.  Does this sound right?
Once it's set up, I can unplug it from my modem at home and move it to my classroom, plug it into a power strip and I'm good to connect my stuff, even without internet at school.
(How can I make sure the Apple TV connects to the Airport Express?)
I think there may be a bonus to this plan as well:  I should be able to hook a printer up to the Airport Express so I can print directly from my iPad completely bypassing the terrible printers we have on the schools network.
Can anyone tell me if this plan will actually work?  I can't afford spending the $250 for something that isn't going to work.
    Thank you!

    Is this a LAN?
LAN -- local area network.  Yes.
From what I've seen I think I have to set up the network at home where I have internet.
I'd move the hardware to your school without making any changes. The hardware will think the internet is down, but you already expect that & should not be a problem.
I should be able to hook a printer up to the Airport Express so I can print directly from my iPad completely bypassing the terrible printers we have on the schools network.
The iPad supports only AirPrinters.  You can install some more software on your ipad to print to the printer ( if the extra software supports the printer. )

  • TS1702 how do i use microsoft word on my ipad? i cannot use flash on it as well neither do i use it with projector for presentation.

how can i use microsoft office on my ipad? i can't also use flash to copy and transfer documents into it and neither could i use it with a projector for presentation.

You can't use MS Office on the iPad as Microsoft haven't made app versions of their programs (you can only use apps that are in the iTunes app store on your computer and the App Store app on the iPad), but there are apps that support word, excel and powerpoint documents. The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.
As to how you then get the file to your chosen app will depend upon what the app supports - different apps will have different ways of copying their content to/from a computer e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc

  • I want to use my iPad with a projector using apple tv. How do I homeshare if the iPad cannot access itunes when away from home?

I want to use my iPad to give presentations using Apple TV. How do I get the two to homeshare so that they "talk" to one another. Instructions say use iTunes but I am getting very confused over why this is necessary when all I want to do is link 2 pieces of equipment without having to use wi-fi.! Wi-fi won't be available at the locations where I have to give presentations. Help!

Thanks Dave. There is still a problem. The iPad will only stream to the projector whilst connected to Wi-fi. The icon disappears from "iPod" on the iPad (the only place it appears, not iTunes as the instructions say) once Wi-fi is disconnected. Only audio will stream, no icon appears in the drop-down menu to show that pictures will go over. The outcome of courrse is that, as it stands, the iPad cannot be used for presntations using Keynote, neither can it be used in a location without Wi-fi, which rather defeats the object of have having bought the equipment in the first place having been assured that with Apple TV it would be possible. Is there anything else I can try? I would add that I have downloaded any available updates to Apple TV. All itmes were bought 3 weeks ago so should be reasonably up to date anyway.

  • I am using an iPad with Apple TV and airplay with a projector in my classroom.  The mirroring cuts out and back on several times during use. Any suggestions on what's causing it and how to fix it?

I am using My iPad with Apple TV, Airplay and projector in my classroom.  The projector screens blanks out and back on several times during a presentation. It seems like a problem with connection but I'm not sure as it comes back on after a few seconds. Any idea of what is causing this and how it can fixed?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Looking for iPad App for displaying photos via a projector

I'm looking for an App that will allow me to display photos using a projector yet permit manual advancing through the slides.
The included Photo app only works with the projector when in slideshow mode. As soon as I try to manually advance a photo the projector output stops.
I've seen references to Keynote but I'd rather not have to import 'x' number of photos into Keynote to be able to display them. I'm not convinced Keynote will do what I want anyway.
There's got to be an app out there somewhere that does this. Isn't there?
    Thanks.

Locking the iPad so that a user can't exit an app isn't possible for any developer to implement, since the developer kit doesn't provide that sort of access to the low-level routines in iOS. The only way to lock into a single app is to use a case/frame that covers the Home button (and turn off the gesture support in the settings in iOS 5).  A number of companies make kiosk mounts for this purpose.
    Regards.

  • HT4437 I'm using an ATV2 and an ipad successfully for with airplay. Now I added a brand new ipod touch to the setup. However, for some reason airplay for music doesn't work if my projector connected via HDMI2DVI connector is turned off.

If I turn on the projector it works fine. Interesting fact is, that this is exactly the same behavior that I have when playing videos from the iPad. Worth to mention is that the ATV2 is connected to the speakers via optical cabIe. Is there a setting that I'm missing? I can't imagine that Airplay for music from the iPod requires a turned on Video device connected to the ATV2. Thanks.

Hy Alley_Cat, that was the last bit on information that I wanted to add to the question. All devices say they are up to date. Which means that iPad and iPod run 5.0.1 and ATV 2 4.4.4(3330).
