Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • I can't play iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I like to download iTunes movies to my MacMini from iTunes store. Recently I gave up doing so because I can't play iTunes movies in 5.1 surround on my surround system. My MacMini is connected to my Marantz 6007 SR via HDMI cable. However I can get DTS or 5.1 surround sound from my system with other players such as VLC player.
How can I fix this problem as I really want to buy or rent movies from iTunes store?

    Hi komansava,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your Mac Mini is able to output 5.1 audio to your surround sound receiver, but iTunes purchases do not play in surround sound.
When playing iTunes purchases, first see if iTunes is set to output the movie you're playing in surround sound:
Set up iTunes to play content in surround sound
Movies you purchased or rented from the iTunes Store may have stereo audio and digital surround sound tracks. ...
In iTunes, click the Speech Bubble icon to view your audio choices, such as English (Surround). If the surround sound choice is dimmed or the icon doesn't appear, make sure you are using the appropriate hardware and that the content is encoded with digital surround sound.
You can find this information here:
Set up iTunes and your DVD Player for digital surround sound - Apple Support
    Best Regards,

  • Playing iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I have the opitcal cable working. I have changed the channel seletion to surround on the movie and there is no audio. So, in short, I want to use my MacBook Pro to play iTune movies in 5.1 on a surround system. Currently, I am running OS X 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1. I can play DVD's back in 5.1, so this must be an iTunes issue. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Kim

Channel selection on the receiver right?
Also, do a "Get Info" on the file you are attempting to play in iTunes. Does it show Surround (or something similar) for the "Channels" tag?
In any case, I found the following:

  • Why cant iPad 3 play iTunes purchased movies?

So I've got an iPad 3 or not so new 'new' ipad with retina dsiplay and haven't ever had issues before in syncing or playing HD or SD movies on it.
Recently, I'm guessing after one of the recent updates I can't sync a purchased movie or TV show such as "Anchorman" or "Game of Thrones season 3 - Ep1" to my iPad 3.
I get an error msg saying that these movies or TV shows weren't synced to the ipad because the ipad can't play that file?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but an iPad with Retina display should be able to play any downloaded purchased movie wetc from the itunes store.
This is really irritating as the main reason I have this thing is to sync movies and TV shows to watch while travelling on planes etc.
And yes, I realise I could probably download them straight to the iPad through ym purchased link in the itunes store or something but that sort of defeats the purpose and takes much longer than a sync.
Please help its driving me nuts......
P.S - I'm no iPad nor iOS or OSX noob, and have had an iPad of some sort since the first day they were released.

The only thing that I could suggest is the really basic stuff which I'm sure that you already tried, reboot the iPad, quit iTunes, restart your computer and try again ....
I understand the principle behind being able to sync as it should, but sometimes trying to get to the bottom of something like this can be like beating your head against the wall and you never get anywhere. My point is, you may have to just "bite the bullet" and delete the show from the iPad and download it again.
I have had to do that a couple of times with purchased movies that would not sync or play correctly on the iPad.

  • Wifi hardrive to play itunes movies on an ipad?

I am looking for a way to play my movies purchased through itunes on my ipad when i am traveling. I have over 100 gb of movies so my ipad wont hold them all.
I already have an old seagate golfex satelite that allows me to play movies not purchased through itunes on my ipad. I just cant seemt ot play my movies purchased through itunes.
Is there a program that will allow me to do this?
Is there a newer/different wi fi enabled portable HD that will allow me to do this?
    thanks

Most HDMI converters are unreliable. If you want to send the video to the TV and it has an HDMI port buy an adapter to go from your iPad mini to HDMI. Apple sells one both for 30 pin iPads and lightning connector iPads.

  • Playing itunes movies on iPad

    Hi all,
I downloaded a full TV series of NCIS on iTunes via apple TV 2, but can't play it on my iPad 2. When I look for the show on the iPad (shared via home sharing from my mac) I see a blank icon with "series 2" under it but no show name. When I open the series, I get blank icons, but the synopsis of each episode is available.
Whenever I open an episode it says "cannot open" and returns to the series synopsis of each episode without playing anything. Every other video that I've downloaded or converted from another format to apple TV plays fine, but this is the only series that I've purchased via apple TV then downloaded to iMac. All episodes play fine on apple TV, but won't work on iPad or iPhone. I've done a soft and hard reset on both, logged out of my account and back in, but still have the same problem.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it? Google has not been my friend despite 8 hours looking!
    Thanks,
    Pete

This keeps getting more interesting. I have the same problem on my iPhone 4.
Another weird thing is that I can't update or download any apps from the app store. I've tried signing out of the store in Settings, restarting the iPad, and signing back, but still no luck with the App Store. I get an error that says, "Cannot connect to iTunes store."
Maybe even more odd is that my iPad will play purchased iTunes songs over Home Sharing. Have you tried playing anything else, or downloading something from the App store?
The next thing I'll try, when I get a chance, is just manually syncing it to my main Mac and see if that overrides whatever bug is going on.

  • How to sync and play itunes movies in 1080p hd on iPhone 4S/5/5s or iphone 6 plus

About 6 months ago I discovered iTunes was set by default to 720p. These MUST BE CHANGED TO 1080P!!!!!!!!.......So I installed FULL 1080P file on my laptop on iTunes...  When I download movies on iPhone 5s/iPad mini the file is 720p.... So within about 60 seconds of starting download of 1080p files into my laptop of iTunes purchases. It was at that moment that I realized it was that file my laptop has on file to sync to my Apple device...Ten minutes later when the first 1080P HD file was downloaded  I must say... The resolution is amazing... I now use this same process to install movie files from iTunes.. In FULL 1080P.. Not 720P... Works on my iPad mini also... Avatar is 5.4 GB if installed over Wi-Fi... However sync with laptop and file is 6.5 GB in size... Called Apple told them... No reply yet.... You must delete 720P files from your laptop... Look for file size in any movie purchase and you will see DOWNLOAD IN 1080P.. This will open preferences in iTunes for you to the correct tab so you can change setting to 1080p from default of 720p... DELETE any downloaded movies already downloaded into laptop... You can check file quality by right click on any movie folder and the look at movie info... Will say 720p HD... Delete to recycle bin and iCloud will appear on each movie... Now download 1080P HD file... When completed. Right click any file to verify it is 1080P HD... The sync with device...... And get ready to be upset with Apple for holding back your device for the last 2 years 3 months and 16 days......And be ready to catch your jaw from hitting the floor when you see your screen in full 1080P HD.... Apple Engineer's were asleep.....
    <Edited By Host>

Currently There is only one option to watch 1080P movies from iTunes on your Apple devices... With a sync with a laptop.. Apple by default sends the 720P file... Users have no option to control video download... Some like me want the full file... Some uses may think the 720P file is fine... However I see the difference... And it is big.. The iPhone has a 1080P camera... So it can play and store a 1080P file... And the screen does display a better image... Just watching a iTunes movie and shooting a video in 1080P on your iPhone and you can see the image is better.. YES it's 1080P... not 720... Apple has know from release of iPhone 5 on September 21,2012 iPhone can play 1080P file... However the system is overloaded as I seen on my Apple T.V. On Christmas say ready to pay is 8 hours 22 minutes... I pay for 50MBps download and 5MBps download.. fastest I can get in my area... It's obvious it will load Apple's network and the don't want to make the changes... Users now wanting 1080p files for iPhones/iPads.... The system load would jump off the scale... I contacted Apple told them the issues, currently they have stopped emailing me replies on the issue after issue was escalated to Apple engineers... Apple knows... Yet...
I want control of what file I download into my device over Wi-Fi... Apple has missed the ball for over two years... Missed it rolling down the hall... Missed it bouncing down the stairs.... Missed it as it rolled across the street and is still going with no fix yet....

  • HT1657 Using a VGA adaptor with iPad 1 for iTunes movie rentals?

I have an iPad 1 with a VGA adaptor to display supported apps on external displays like YouTube and GoodReader. I tried to use this with a rented SD movie from iTunes and I got a warning along the lines of  "output device not supported for protected material." Is there a way to do play iTunes rentals on an external display from the iPad? This is simple on a MacBook.
    Thanks,
    RSR

    Hi bluemoon59,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below may be able to help you with this issue.

iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657?viewlocale=en_US
Can I play my rental on more than one device?
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Air playing iTunes Movies

Will Apple TV Airplay iTunes movies whilst downloading? The reason I was asking is because I got Apple TV and each time I was trying to stream wirelessly from my iPad/iPhone it failed with a copyright error message.
I did however try again once the film (x men: first class) had finished downloading from iCloud on my devices and it worked without issue
I have probably answered my own question but I had thought HDCP and HDMI played a role in this issue, and reassurance is needed to confirm I have purchased something with keeping
    Thanks

Where are the movies playing from?  iTunes on the computer, streaming from the iTunes store? Netflix? some other streaming app?

  • Play iTunes Movie on BlackBerry Torch 9810

There is definitely no shortage of M4V to MP4 converter on the Internet. One of the best M4V to MP4 converter is called Tune4mac iTunes M4V Converter Plus, which is able to remove DRM control from iTunes M4V movie rentals and purchases and convert M4V to MP4 format supported by BlackBerry Torch 9810. It not only support BlackBerry but also support most pupular devices and formats. This M4V to MP4 converter runs on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard and 10.7 Lion.

Ita really a good converter. It can also convert iTunes movies to other devices, like Apple iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, PSP, Zune, Xoom, Galaxy Tab, iRiver, etc.
