IPad really slow and can't load web pages

I tried to ask this question from my iPad mini, but it was not possible to type in this field, so apparently support is another page that I can't load. Suddenly iPad won't load web pages, and is really slow...I already cleared safari cache and history...what now? have not updated to ios8.

Hello LizBMac,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your Wi-Fi network is loading images slowly, then I recommend that you follow the information in the article linked to below.

  • Get error "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined" and can't load web pages. Problem with Firefox 5?

I tried repeatedly to load Firefox 5. The Error "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined" keeps coming up. The browser loads but any URL I enter doesn't load. Sites activated by buttons do load. Internet Explorer works.

07-05-11 When I turned on my laptop (Vista) this morning, I got a Start in Safe Mode and Repair message so I did. It suggested a System Restore, I hit OK. When it started like normal, I waited a few minutes then TRIED to launch Firefox 5.0 but kept getting a Mozilla Crash Report dialogue. So I instead opened Firefox 4.0b12 --error free-- so I could get here to get help. When I tried the Run... firefox.exe -profilemanager step, I get the subject error. When I try to open FF 5.0 in Safe Mode by holding down the shift key simultaneously, I get the subject error and no launch (though no Crash box either). I will try to let the FF 5.0 Updater run when it appears again but it never lets me choose when to Ask Again so I don't think it'll show again until tomorrow. Sigh. Oh, and like someone at a different version of this error blog re WinVista 32bit, now I'm getting the issue of Enter not executing the URL typed in the address bar; I had to click the arrow.
I hope the Update is to fix this problem.

  • Can only load web pages

    Hi there,
I'm running an Apple iBook G4, with Mac OS 10.4.7, and connecting to the Internet through an Apple Airport Extreme. Until recently, my connection has been fine, but in the last few days I've noticed a systemic failure has crept up on me.
Almost every application in my system cannot connect to the Internet. iTunes can't connect to the music store, Gmail notifier can't retrieve messages, Mac OS X Software Updater can't connect to the update server, even the dashboard weather and stock ticker widgets can't connect to their servers.
Now here's where it gets weird. Web pages load fine in Firefox. Camino and Safari both refuse to load anything, but Firefox is loading pages without a hitch.
I'm stumped. Really, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try restarting the base station by opening the Airport Admin Utility in /Applications/Utilities/. Select your base station from the list and choose Base Station> Restart. If your base station doesn't show up in the list, you can also unplug your base station from the wall for a few seconds and plug it back in to restart it.
If that does not work, follow the instructions in this article to reset your base station.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Limited Access - can't load web pages

Although I am connected to the internet, web pages won't load. Trouble-shooting, it says I have "limited access" (I've tried both hard wire and Wife - same deal, no go).
Thought it might be my ISP, so I was on the phone with AT&T support and we ran tests and ping showed packets going out and coming in normally, and I can connect to the online game I play, but websites will not load. No home page, no E-mail, nada.
I am not a computer geek, so I have limited know-how.
    This question was solved.

Interesting that AT&T support could not help.  When that problem happens, it could be a virus or some malware.  It can also be caused by your antivirus software - imagine that.  But first try resetting the stack.  SEE HERE for a dicussion.  The reset in the last section applies to Windows 7 also.

  • Can get email, but can't load web pages

I have an Airport Extreme basestation which, up until a week ago, was working fine. Now, I can send and receive email, but I can't access any web pages. When I try, it just hangs and nothing loads. Nothing has changed in setup and I haven't changed any settings anywhere. My suspision is that my ISP (Charter) changed something that my Airport is unhappy about.
I called Apple, and they told me it's Charter fault. I called Charter, and they told me it's Apple's fault.
I also called my local Apple store (not an official Apple store, but a small local reseller) and they said they've had an unusual number of people in the area reporting the same problem. Unfortunately, they don't know what could have happened.
Any idea what the problem might be or what I can check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it might be a DNS issue.

  • Links now connect with a version of Firefox showing 2 top red bars, and does not load web pages correctly.

When links are shown to a web page on a document a different version of Firefox appears that has a double line of red rows at the top, and the desired page doesn`t load. To get the required page I need to highlight the link and paste it into my usual search page.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
In Firefox 4 and later [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • Lumia 920 can't load web page

We just bought 2 new Lumia920 phones and while we like the devices, we have a huge problem... A couple of web pages I need for work doesn't work.  It opens the main page but when I try to log in or open another link it just reloads the page I was on.  I'm pretty sure it's a browser compatibilty problem but I am out of ideas.  If this can't be solved I'll have to switch to a different phone  Thanks for any suggestions

I didn't mention the site because unfortunately you need a password to be able to get to it. Im guessing its some sort of script or java problem but i don't know much about either... If that's the case, could this be addressed later when they update the site or is it one of those permanent bummers? I did find the"requirements page" and this is what it says:

  • Macbook running slow....loading web pages slowly

i have noticed that for a while now, my macbook does not have the same pep that it used to have. if i t were a pc, i would think that i had a virus. the most i notice it is when using safari, opening pages, buffering movies, etc. that is mostly what i do thou. i have also noticed that it even shuts down and restarts extra slow. sometimes i'm worried it's going to crash. is this just a sign of old age (i got it in december of '06) or is there something i can do/delete/refresh to make it a little more peppy? thanks for help.
    carlee

    Carlee:
First, be sure that you empty the cache on your browser from time to time.
Next, be sure you have sufficient available disk space. You need to maintain a minimum of 15% of total capacity of the drive as contiguous free space. 20% would be better. If you are close to the line try slimming down the drive. Dr. Smoke's FAQ Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk has helpful suggestions for freeing up space.
You should run Verify Disk while booted from your internal HDD from time to time, and, if necessary, boot from your install disk and Repair Disk.
If you leave your computer on and let it sleep, you should completely shut down from time to time (I do it weekly) and reboot. This helps clear the caches.
The average life on a Hard Disk Drive is 3 to 5 years. Yours is getting in that range. You might want to consider a larger (more capacious) HDD. Drives have come down in price considerably, and installation in a MacBook it fairly straightforward. If you are interested in this option please post back for more information.
    Good luck.

  • Can't load web pages/Itunes store

    Hi
I installed the security update yesterday and since then (or may be a coincidence) I'm having difficulty loading webpages. Some, like Apple, my bank, won't load at all - the progress bar just gets about 3/4 of the way across and stops. Others take minutes.
I'm using Entourage for mail and that is fine - no problem with email. I've tried using Safari, Firefox and IE - same problem with all my browsers.
I contacted Apple support - and emptied the cache, trashed the preferences folder and reset safari at their suggestion. No Joy.
Can't access the iTunes store either - or rather, it starts and again just stops.
Any help or suggestions would be welcome. In simple words please, I'm a bit simple.
    Thanks

  • Can't load web pages?

in the past few days I have been unable to load certain webpages (google, hotmail), and have had spotty access to others (gmail, certain yahoo pages). Also, many images are not displaying. I downloaded Firefox and experienced the same problems, so it seems as if Safari may not be the problem. I've tried rebooting my computer multiple times only to experience the same results. My hard drive only has about 250 megs of space left, but it's been like this for months and I haven't had these website problems before. Any advice?

  • 3g very slow, safari won't load web pages,

3g doesn't seem to want to work, got correct network settings and full coverage but not loading.... Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and home buttons at this same time until you see the Apple logo. Then give it a try.

  • Connected to internet but have gray screen and can't access web pages

I am connected to the internet. I am able to search via google but when results come up the screen is gray and I acan't select any of the results?

Always a good idea to close Safari in your multitasking menu as well by double-clicking the home button and holding down an icon until they have the minus signs.  Safari and Mail both seem to start to get glitchy if they are running in the background for a while.

  • I installed safari 8.0.1 and now my computer is slow and will not open some pages  can i uninstall

I installed safari 8.0.1 and now my mac is really really slow and will not open some pages. Can I uninstall?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Photos, if it's checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Browsers not loading web pages.

Hi there I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
This evening I logged on to my mac to find that none of my browsers (Safari, Chrome and Firefox) could load web pages. My MacBook Pro connects to the Internet via wifi. All other devices (wired and wireless) connected to the router work and even when the mac is hard wired it works. I have a bootcamp install of windows that works fine.
I tried loading all 3 browsers on another users account to no avail as well as attempting it in a guest account. I also attempted to load pages whilst booted in safe mode again to no avail. The strange thing is, when I connect to my universities VPN the browsers all work fine.
I have also noticed that applications installed that show in the menu bar (weather, Dropbox etc) do not work unless the mac is hard wired (or connected to the VPN wirelessly).
Can anyone help with this problem please?

First contact your ISP.  You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
    System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
    Unlock the padlock
    Locations:  Automatic
    Highlight Airport
    Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock.  Highlight Airport.  Network Name-select your name.  Click on the Advanced button.  Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."  Click the OK button and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1920 Mac OS: How to release and renew a DHCP lease
    No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."
