IPAD reboot to DFU Mode itself

hi,I am so confused that recently my IPAD reboots to DFU mode itself when I lock screen few minutes later, then I found lots of xx.panic.ips in Diagnostic&Usage Data.I had sent it to autorized service provider and it said I could only pay for changing a new one. When my IPAD connected to the computer it worked very well.I want to know if someone had the same problem, could it be a hardware issue?

My iPad 3 has the idenitical issue, it randomly reboots and then generates a panic.ips file under: Settings> General> About> Diagnostics & Usage> Diagnostic & Usage Data
For example today the file was named: 2014-03-27-152533.panic.ips

Try recovery mode as described here.  You may have to try to get into recovery mode more than once to succeed.

  • I put my iPad into DFU mode without thinking much about it. I didn't realize I would lose everything. Is there a way to get everything back the way I used to have it before I tried recovering my iPad?

A couple of days ago my iPad died, so I plugged it in to charge. It went into a rebooting loop, and when I looked up how to fix this, I saw that I can put my iPad into DFU mode to fix certain things like this. I did, not thinking much about it because l had seen both of my parents get new phones and everything was slowly but surely on their phone the way it was on their old phones.
I thought that even though I agreed to the iPad being put back into factory settings, I thought I would be able to get everything back the way it used to be just by logging into iCloud when setting it up. I was wrong. This is a school iPad, so all of my notes are gone. The only things that were backed up were my photos. All the games, social media, etc. that I had downloaded prior were gone. Even my notes.
Is there a way I can get everything back to the way it used to be, or was agreeing to put the iPad back into factory settings the wrong thing to do? Was it a mistake to take it upon myself to fix my iPad in this restarting loop? I would really like to get everything back, especially my school notes.

The only way to get everything back is by restoring a backup. If you didn't have a backup, there is nothing that you can do to recover your lost documents and your notes. If you have a backup restore the backup in order to recover your data. Purchased apps can always be downloaded again as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with, but data can only be recovered from a backup or if you have copies of the documents and notes on a computer.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The appointment is free. No warranty required

  • IPad stopped working, only recognized by iTunes in DFU Mode

    A1459 iPad (4th generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular
A week ago, I was watching Netflix on my iPad. The screen went blue and then the device completely stopped working.
All I can do is put the device in DFU Mode and attempt to restore. I get the same result every time
"The iPad could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (4005)."
I brought it into the Apple store, where they could not provide any information as to why the device stopped working.
I am just curious at this point and trying to figure out what could have caused this. I purchased it 2 years ago, used it on the train commuting to and from the city and for the last year it was used lightly at home for browsing the internet and watching movies.

This is the only support document with information on error 4005. It seems to be a disconnect error, and can happen for any reason. The diagnostics they use at Apple do not always provide the information about why, just that there is a hardware error. Any number of things can go wrong with electronics. I'm sorry I could not be any more specific, but then, neither could Apple.

  • 'find my ipad' enabled I cannot access the ipad as the use account originally set when new no longer exists, please help, now in DFU mode but still needs passcode!

I have deleted my Apple ID from the apple store but had it previously associated with my Ipad, that I set 'to find' my ipad. but since i've deleted the orginal account I cannot access my ipad! The ipad is currently in DFU mode but still asks for a password, please help!

Your Apple ID still exists with the most recent password that you used.  You can use it to erase your iPad. Read this.

  • HT201263 My ipad will not show the recovery mode, it goes into DFU mode just fine, but whenever I put it in recovery mode I get nothing but a blank white screen. After doing a restore or update itunes gives me error 37. This all happened due to a failed u

I updated from ios 5.0.1 to 5.1. Midway through the update itunes crashed. I got it all working again and ever since I have been stuck in a recovery loop. DFU mode works fine, but when I go into recovery mode (yes I am doing it right, yes I have tried pwning, tinyumbrella, etc.) it still just gives me a white screen (I am not getting the plug arrow and itunes icon screen that shows up when you are in recovery mode). I am a huge fan of hacking, mods, and jbs, BUT have never done any on the iPad, (found it pointless).. nevertheless, I am stuck thanks to apple in a white screen and a nonworking iPad. If anyone has any ideas that does not include jbs, updating, restoring, restoring with internet off, restoring in DFU, I would gladly appreciate it. I would take it to the apple store but it was a friends and I didn't purchase it. My friend had the issue formerly and they had no idea what to do at apple (they usually try DFU, restore, and then have nothing else to tell you.

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

my ipad mini is stuck in dfu mode trying to restore it with ios 7.0.2 it completes the bar(restoring ipad software) then it gives me the ipad could not be restores. an unknown error occured(14)

Are you using a valid Apple charger that came with the iPad?
Attempting to use a computer USB port, an incompatible charger, or attempting to charge via a wall socket that only receives power from a wall switch — can all lead to a low, or depleted battery condition. Has this iPad been wet, or dropped?
Verify all of the above, and correct. If the iPad still cannot hold a charge, consider taking to an Apple Store, or authorized service provider to evaluate it.

  • IPad Air is stuck in Dfu mode and iTunes does not recognize

Hello while i was restoring my ipad air and it wasn't going on so i disconnected my ipad air while "restoring" and it was in Recovery mode and i tried restore it again and it gaved me error 2005 and i put in dfu mode and tryed it again and it gave me same error 2005 and i tried disconnecting usb cable and connect again and then iTunes didn't recognize my iPad Air what can i do?

    Hey Ozan274,
Thanks for the question. If your iPad is not recognized in iTunes while in recovery mode, follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
While you should follow all of the steps in the article, the applicable information is located in Step 5, sub-section titled “If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode”
I also see that you are experiencing error 2005, which may be the root cause of your main issue. For more information, see this article:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    - Use another USB cable.
    - Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
    - Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
    - Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
    - Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IPad 2 unresponsive except DFU mode, iTunes won't restore

Let me preface: the steps to resolve the issue I have provided on the Apple website did not work, please do not suggest them.
Yesterday I received my replacement iPad 2 in a brand new sealed box after about a month of waiting and shipment issues.  Out of the box, it worked.  Plugged into itunes, restored from backup, registered, and then... dead.  Screen does not display anything for any reason and the device will not respond to anything except entering DFU mode while connected to iTunes.
    What I have tried:
    uninstall/reinstall iTunes 10.3.1
    switched USB cords and ports
    revert to iTunes 10.2.2
leave plugged into wall charger overnight
switched wall charger with known good charger and known good iphone charger
    downloaded differnet .ipsw files
    used two different computers
I am using an iPad 2 64gb 3GATT and MacBook Pro, all running latest software
After multiple attempts at all of the above, I have had no success getting the iPad to function.  The closest I get is to enter DFU and tell iTunes to restore.  After about 5 minutes, it says iPad cannot be restored (error 1601)[yes I've read the support articles, all of them, and tried everything].  The only other message I get is when trying to use an older .ipsw, to which iTunes says iPad is not eligible for this software, or something to the same effect.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or knows a way to force a restore, preferably with a third party application, please let me know.  I am taking it to the Apple store to see the glorified support article readers this evening, but I really don't want to undergo another replacement process that will take another three weeks.
    Thanks

    Dear jaredfromsewanee,
I received my iPad 2 days ago, and I just went to try and restore my iPad 2. Same problem with me, its stuck on a black screen with no Apple logo. I also get error message 1601 trying to restore to 4.3.3 from 4.3.3. I'm worried my iPad may be 'bricked' and I don't have a receipt because I won this iPad from a competition..
Also I'm running a windows machine, with iTunes up to date and I'm stressing so bad and I hope I can still salvage this thing!! Goodluck mate!!

  • The iOS 8.1.2 update bricked my 4th gen iPad. I can't even do a DFU mode restore - error 4013. The iPad worked perfectly before the update and is 16 months old. Any suggestions anyone - except to shout loudly at the Apple support line?

I set my iPad to do the latest iOS update as per usual - over the air and while on charge. When I returned to it, it was non functional the screen was blank. I reset multiple times and at one point got a red screen. I connected it to iTunes on my Mac and tried to force a restore, but this didn't work - even in DFU mode. I have gotten a 4013 error every time. I've tried different cables and different USB ports etc, but no success. It's a brick.

I have multiple Macs around the house and have tried all of them - all with the same results alas. I've restarted, ensured iTunes is up to date etc too.
On DFU mode - yes - that's it. I have no idea what DFU stands for, but it this mode is often referred to as this. I get the 'connect to iTunes' picture and can begin the restore, but the process times out waiting for the iPad. Apparently, 4013 is associated with a cable problem,, but I know the hardware is all fine.
What I want to avoid is just being told to buy another iPad. That would be totally unacceptable for an error caused by an update to a 16 month old device. There has to be some solution!

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
