IPad Retina email sending problems.

My new iPad Retina has developed a problem with sending very simple emails. The emails are just text and have no attachments. This now takes up to 10 minutes to send. Very frustrating and time consuming. Please help

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Godaddy email send problem

    I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my godaddy email account cannot send emails from my iPad. I set it up the same way as my iphone and it think it worked initially but now, I've tried so many different variations of smtpout.secureserver.net. I called Godaddy's helpdesk and they told me to turn off SSL and use ports 80 or 25 or 3535. None of which has worked for me. Please help!

    Update: Problem solved.
    I'm not a techie by any means but I finally figured out the answer that somehow no one has posted before. I initially tried to setup my godaddy email on my ipad like the way it's setup on my iphone. I could receive emails but could not send. Because I have AT&T as my iphone provider, I have cwmx.com as my alternative outgoing mail server. That won't work with my ipad because emails from my ipad doesn't go through AT&T wireless. My home internet provider is Comcast. As an alternative SMPT server, I used Comcast's SMTP server: smtp.comcast.net. No user name, no password, SSL on, authentication password, server port 25.
    I found my ISP provider SMTP server info on this page: http://www.host45.com/resources/ispsmtps.php
    I think Apple can help future ipad users to better understand how email flows out of their devices and it really depends on your wifi/internet provider too.

  • Wierd Email sending problem

    Hi,
    I used my email server, for example, "email.ZZZ.edu", to send email by the following code:
    Properties prop = System.getProperties();
    prop.put("mail.smtp.host","email.ZZZ.edu");
    Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(prop, null);
    InternetAddress fromAddress = new InternetAddress(SendFrom);
    InternetAddress toAddress = new InternetAddress(SendTo);
    replyadd[0] = new InternetAddress(ReplyTo);
    MimeMessage emailmsg = new MimeMessage(session);
    emailmsg.setFrom(fromAddress);
    emailmsg.setRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, toAddress);
    emailmsg.setSentDate(new java.util.Date());
    emailmsg.setSubject(Subject);
    emailmsg.setText(EmailContent);
    Transport.send(emailmsg);
    When I send out an email to a person who is under the same email server, it works(e.g., from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]"). However, if I send to an email address that is not under the same server (e.g, from "[email protected]" to "[email protected]", I got the following error msg:
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Email Sending Exception: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed;
    nested exception is:
         javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
    nested exception is:
         javax.mail.SendFailedException: 554 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: Relay access denied
    So it seems sending to an outside address from my own email server doesn't work.
    However, on the contrary, if I send an email from [email protected] to my address "[email protected]" by using my email server "email.ZZZ.edu", it works. You see, this will cause security problem, that means, a person can send to me an email by using an forged email address.
    Does anybody knows how to solve the above two problems? Thanks in advance,
    Yihua

    What are you using for SMTP services? It looks like you have it setup to only relay messages to its own domain but accept messages for relaying from any where.
    I would talk to whoever setup the service to get it configured to relay messages anywhere but accept requests from your domain only. Your Java code looks fine and does work so I think you just need to get the environment setup right.

  • IPad 2 email sync problem

    When I sync my ipad 2 email it downloads about 25% of the messages that are on the server (POP3).  I know this because I also have email set up on my macbook pro and can see all the messages.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Are you using the same inbound email server for both?
    If both emails are hitting the same inbound server, then it can't be the inbound server filtering them.
    But the iPad doesn't have the ability to filter. It must be done on the mail server.

  • IPad3 email sending problems after. Upgrading to IOS6

    I having this problem after I have upgraded my iPad 3 with IOS 5 to IOS 6. The problem is in sending email and not receiving it. Any idea what is the problem?  I have tried resetting, setting up the iPad as new one and everything I can thing of .i.e. even calling the support service but nothing is rectifying it.  No new ideas !
    I think this is an integration problem that apple has to stream line for its IOS 6.

  • Email Sending Problems in Bracknell Area?

    Running Win XP SP3  cable connected to with HH2 Type B on desk top and Win 8, 64 bit, on laptop via wireless link.
    There have not been any problems with email (PegasusMail) or web connection until the last couple of days.   I can download emails from both my ISPs - BT and 12FreeUK.   I can access the web without problems.   Trying to send an email I get a blue message window with protocol errors and a mail delivery failure message as below
    Delivery has failed on the enclosed message for the following
    reasons reported either by the mail delivery system on the mail
    relay host or by the local TCP/IP transport module:
       *** TCP/IP error while processing job ***
       A network error has occurred while WinPMail attempted to send
       your message. This error could be caused by many conditions,
       including the following:
         * The remote host may have gone down.
         * Your network may have been broken or gone down.
         * You may have a configuration problem in your WINSOCK.DLL.
         * If running on a SLIP line, you may have experienced a
           timeout (increase the value in WinPMail's Network Config.
           Dialog), or the phone line may have gone down or suffered
           from excessive line noise.
       WinPMail will requeue your message and try again later.
    Your original mail message follows:
    I see on BT site
    http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/service_status/
    that there are a large number of  failures round the country, over 25, plus failures in Brookhall, Slough and Brentwood.
    There appear to be no problems reported for Bracknell area 01344 exchange, but I cannot send messages.   Does anyone else have problems?
    Rodney Fry
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Don't know what the problem was - BT network, exchange..??
    I have just tried again my Win XP and Win 98 standby and both machines will send emails!    Not tried the laptop, but I assume it will also be OK.  All very odd.

  • Outlook Email Send problems

    I have an email address on my website and I have used outlook express to view and send emails.
    Recently I cannot send email any longer but instead receive the outlook error
    The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.storksnmore.net', Server: 'mail.storksnmore.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 26, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
    A friend of mine also using Verizon (Fios) (I am using DSL) had the same problem but his error code is 0x80042109
    I called the company I have the website through and they informed me Verizon must be blocking my outgoing mail server -
    Anyone have an idea on a fix?

    This has been discussed on a number of threads here ... Verizon has started to block outbound SMTP (port 25) on residential user's machines (because it is one of the most frequently exploited vulnerability by malware and bots to unknowingly send SPAM to users).   This is consistent with efforts that many large ISP's are utilizing to help combat this problem.
    What this means to you is that you can not use the standard SMTP port (port 25) to transmit data to a third party mail server for relay (which is essentially what you're mail client is doing).
    Most hosting providers are aware of this initiative and have enabled the usage of an "alternate SMTP" port for their clients to use to send outgoing messages.   The standard port defined for this is port 587, but there are a substantial number of providers which have also chosen to use port 26.   Some sites have chosen a different port entirely.
    In your case, provided the domain you provided is correct, you are hosted by hostican.com -- a quick check of their knowledge base says that if you're using their VPS service, you can go into your control panel and enable outbound mail on an alternate port (they recommend port 26).   I could not find any indication for shared hosting customers on what their outbound port might be (and neither 26 or 587 works).   So, what you need to do is open a support ticket with your hosting provider and ask them what their "alternate SMTP port" is for customers whose ISP is blocking outbound SMTP on port 25.   Whatever port they tell you -- you should then go into your mail client config and replace the number "25" wherever you see it with the port number they provide.

  • Email sending problem

    I can send and receive emails using my BT email account (POP and SMTP connections fine), but suddenly can't send emails with hotmail (can't connect to hotmail SMTP server). I'm using a MAC running its MAIL programme that has worked happily for years. My wife has an identical problem with her hotmail account on a different MAC computer. Settings seem correct (port number, SMTP password authentification). Any ideas gratefully received.

    Spent two hours on the phone today with BT. They escaleted the problem to a specialist support desk, which we then had to agree to paying a £30 charge if they were able to fix the problem as they say that it is a problem with mac mail. (Which it isn't because it works fine using a different broadband connection, and we have three laptops in the house all with same problem, using outlook as well as mail).
    All three laptops have been working with out fault for the last four years and just before christmas they all stopped being able to send emails using hotmail. Obviously BT have changed something somewhere along the line.
    The Specialist just changed our outgoing mail server to use BTs instead. (I have been using a different SMTP server anyway as a temporary fix since christmas) Whilst we are able to send emails, we are still unable to connect to hotmails SMTP server. Still had to pay the £30 though. As far as they are concerned that still counts as a fix. Another "solution" they gave me was to change the DNS address in system preferences- Not Ideal as everytime you connect your laptop to a new network you will have to reset them.An absolute joke.
    Their direct number is 08000 321 118 if you need them to talk you through it. Best to have your bank card to hand.

  • EMAIL SENDING PROBLEMS

    Recently just upgraded to Window 7/0utlook 2007....set up email with Verizon support and everything went well...until now...can receive messages but cannot send them.....as I am on vacation and not in the US...cannot call Verizon...anyone know what the problem may be?

    You will need to change the port that is being used.  Make sure your outgoing server is set use authentication.  See the link below.

  • EMail sending problems with N95

    Hi!
    My internet operator here in Finland is called Welho and email addresses has the ending @welho.com. I can send email to these welho-addresses without any problems, but when I try to send email to other addresses I get an erros message saying that can not send the email. Phone just asks my user name and password dispate that the are already stored in the email settings in the phone and they are correct.
    So anyone else having same kind of problems? Solutions?

    Hi kallev
    Are you on a "data tariff" with your network provider?
    If you are NOT access to SMPT servers other than welho is probably blocked

    I can't get my N97 to send email. It's on the Virgin network. My email account is provided by lcn.com.
    Settings
    SMTP post.lcn.com
    POP pop.lcn.com
    Username Full email
    address Password The password for the mailbox
    Anyone got any ideas?

    I did, but still no joy.
    I'm really annoyed that it was all working fine before the firmware update.
    The problem seems to be related to the fact that I use a domain name, and not my ntlworld.com email address.
    I will go back to nokia,com and try again just in case.

  • N95 Email sending problems

    Hello,
    I am having trouble sending emails from my n95 8GB. I have set up a gmail account trough IMAP and i can recive emails perfectly but when i try to send an email i get an error message saying
    "Internet:
    Server not found"
    I have also tried this with my private work email, but i have the same problem.
    Does anyone know how i can send emails? or have any specific settings. I have tried this with my home WLAN and Orange internet and Orange GPRS.
    Thanks

    Hi kallev
    Are you on a "data tariff" with your network provider?
    If you are NOT access to SMPT servers other than welho is probably blocked

  • IPhone email sending problems

    I have manually set up my email account on my iphone. I can send and receive messages just fine when I am at home using my wireless network. However, when I am not home and I try sending email via Edge or a WIFI hotspot, I get an error message saying my message cannot be sent. I can, however, receive mail. My ISP is Charter, a local cable tv and internet service. According to Apple's Article #305634, the problem may be with the port settings. As suggested in the article, I called Charter and they told me that port 25 is not blocked. If port 25 is not blocked and I can send/receive fine at home, why can't I send over Edge or at a WIFI hotspot? Thanks for any help.

      Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Sure. Once you have your GMail account, make sure you enable POP access, and configure it to leave messages in your inbox when accessed via POP. You do this from the GMail screen (from your main computer browser after you've signed up for the account and logged in), then go into Settings, Forwarding and POP.
    Then go to your iPhone, click on Settings, Mail, New Account, Other. There you can enter your name, your Charter email address, and an account description (like Work Email).
    Next, enter your incoming server address. Unless you've forwarded your email from your Charter account, you need to enter your Charter account incoming server information, along with your Charter ID and password.
    Next, enter your outgoing server address. Here, you will enter smtp.gmail.com, your new GMail ID and GMail password. Hit save, and you should be good to go! Go back to the home screen, hit the Mail button, and send out a test message to see if it works.
    In my experience, setting up the GMail outgoing server automatically sets up the SSL settings, so you do not need to go back into Advanced options for anything. If it doesnt work, go back into Settings, Mail, Work Mail (or whatver you called the account), and advanced. Your outgoing server should have SSL turned ON.
