IPad's mail program doesn't load full messages (e.g. 9,5Kb)

Some of the messages are loaded partly. And there is a button "load remaining 15 Kb" (all message may be for example 27Kb). I can see full message only after clicking this button. Can't find the reason.
Other messages with pictures, text (e.g. 500 Kb) are shown correctly.
Did not find any relation between this problem and the messages content.
P.S.:
Can't attach a picture because didn't find no "camera icon" on this page.

Another quirk I've just noticed.  Sometimes the mail WILL display completely at first and then after I look at another mail, it changes to displaying with the body missing.  This is weird.

Apple's iOS platform (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch) has never, and will never support flash.
First on this; Thoughts on Flash. This is from Steve Jobs regarding Apple's views on Flash (2010)
Second; Adobe stops making Flash for mobile devices. This is from Adobe themselves last year stating that they would stop making Flash for mobile devices.
If you can find the App equivalent of the programs you are looking for, then congratulations, however, if you require specific 'programs' requiring flash, then the iPad is certainly not for you, and returning it would be the best choice (granted you are still within the return period).
The lesson in this; Research what a device can and cannot do prior to purchase

  • My iPad 2 Mail program shows an erroneous count of messages in the inbox.

My iPad 2 Mail program shows a count of over 1600 messages in the inbox even though EVERY message has been deleted from every mailbox. Tried deactivating and reactivating Mail, quit/restart, all settings to do with removing messages from the server, and still have the erroneous count. Anyone have any clues on what I can try

    did you try a reset?
first quit Mail by double clicking the Home button to get to the multitasking screen, then swiping the Mail preview screen upward off the top of the iPad
then do a reset:  hold both the Home button and the Power button down for 10+ seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Let go promptly when the Apple logo appears and wait another 30+ seconds for the iPad to turn itself on.  No data will be lost.
Also in Settings > Mail > your account > Advanced > Move discarded messages into ... is Deleted Mailbox ticked?

  • Mail program doesn't stop sending

Since I tried to send a mail with a large attachment, the mail program doesn't stop sending any more. Every time I start the mail program it goes immediately into the sending mode and I can't do or select anything anymore. Anybody out there with a good idea?

when it fails, doesn't it eventually give an option to Try Later or Edit message?
If the later choose that & delete the attachment, then close that window.
Have you tried disconnecting from the Internet & see if you can stop it & trash that file?

Why has my mail started storing under Load More Messages. I'm now unable to access my mail messages.

This is my basic, first start, recommended "fix" when these types of weird, unexplained things occur on the iPad. Give it a try. After you reboot, go back to the mail app and see if the messages will load.
Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Mail shuts down when loading incoming messages

    Hello!
well, actually the title says it all. Since yesterday mail shuts itself down when it tries to load incoming messages.
The strange thing is: when I deactivate WLAN (and LAN) mail operates just fine. I can answer mails and when I switch on the internet access again it even sends the written emails. However as soon as it tries to load incoming messages it shuts down again. The loading bar loads till the end and then the Mb/s rate decreases till it reaches 0 Kb/s and then Mail shuts down.
    What I have tried:
    - restarted my Mac
    - running the disk fixing program (I have no idea if that's the correct name for it in English since I operate my system in German) - btw it found nothing
    - starting my Mac with pressed Shift
    - deleting the com.apple.mail.plist (this didn't help at all)
    - using a com.apple.mail.plist from my TM backup
I have absolutely no idea what else I could do. Does anyone have a clue?
Waht did I do to start this bug?
Nothing. That's the problem. I left my Mac running for a few hours while I was away and when I came back and wanted to look at my mails it shut down for the first time. I can't remember installing any updates before.
I have four mail server accounts in my mail. The strange thing is that just now a mail from Yahoo was able to arrive ...
I would be so glad if anyone could help me sort out this issue. I so desperatly need my mail program.
If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to provide you with any information I can give you that could be of help.
    Thank you for your time.

I have no idea what solved the problem but mail works just fine right now.
So I guess it was either the internet connection (which I still doubt as I was able to send messages) or it was the server of my mail provider.

  • Drop & Drop file onto Mail icon doesn't create new message

New to Snow-leopard and what used to work in Leopard... dragging a file from the finder onto the Mail icon would open a new message with that file as the attachment... doesn't seem to work in SL. Mail will come to the front, but, beyond that, nothing happens.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Works properly here, but remember seeing other reports. I will keep looking for earlier topics and resolution, if any, for those reporting.
Meanwhile, create a New User Account on your Mac, and as that New User open Mail and set up one email account as a test. If a POP account, set it to leave messages in the server after download.
See the following if not familiar with adding a new user account:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html
This will test the app itself vs your current User Account.

  • Mac mail sometimes does not load gmail messages

Several times a week my mail will not load some messages. Most times it works fine. My iphone always gets the mail. What's up with that?

When you guys say turn ON and OFF, are you referring to "show in IMAP" checkbox in the "Labels" tab in gmail?  As superwhatever mentioned, Apple initially told me to make sure these are showing so that Mail.app picks them up.  If I uncheck "All Mail" and "Important" wont that just mkae Mail.app skip downloading thosemessages that are in Important and All Mail?  Instead shouldn't Mail.app's "Inbox" be set to also incorporate those message that are in Important and All Mail?  This was so much of a headach for me back when the original problem surface that I just stopped using Mail.app and purchased Mailmate.  Since then though, I'm missing certain key functions that Mail.app has and want to take another stab at resolving this.
On my iphone it shows that I have 18 unread messages for my company account, while in Mail.app it shows only 2 unread.  The other 16 are found in "Important."  how does this get fixed?

After mistaking the new Photo application for iPhoto, I couldn't find the original 206 G iPhoto volume of my pix.  Finally found it but couldn't get the thumbnail images in the application to load the full resolution images after I double clicked them.  Please help.  It's got me scared.  I tried to rebuild after rebooting with Command and Option held down, but no fix in sight.  The thumbnails still refuse to link to the full resolution images.  Help!

  • Apple's Mail program is missing 1000s of messages from Exchange account

I just discovered a terrifying thing about Mail, which I had chosen to use as my mail client to access my company's Exchange server.
When connected to the Exchange server, Mail shows and counts only 6,800 messages , while when I access the Exchange account from other systems ( iPad, iPhone, web mail, MS Outlook, ) there are 18,000 messages !
This is a SHAME ; I have used Mail to search for messages and make archives ; now I understand why on many occasions my searches etc. where unsucessful !
Mr Apple and Mr Microsoft, you need to solve this or just say upfront one should NOT use Mail to access an Exchange account ( which is my advice to anybody).

Right click on the email  in the left hand pane.  Select Mark as Unread to return it to an unread state.  Click Delete to move it to the trash or file it in a folder if you have any configured.  You may need to click the show button on the upper left hand side of the window to see your folders.  The + sign at the bottom of that pane allows you to add a new folder.

  • Mail on Mac Not Loading iCloud Messages I read in iOS

I updated everything--iOS 7 and Mavericks. If I read an iCloud message on my iphone or ipad, it does not appear later in Mail for the Mac. It is as though it was never sent. What is weird is that I can still access it through Mail on iCloud if I go through Safari. But Mail never finds it. If I do not read it on my iOS device first, no problem.
This problem does not exist for mail for work run through an Exchange server. I can read it on whatever device and it syncs just fine.
    Any suggestions?

As of two days ago, I am having basically the same problem as described:
imap account on my University, it always synced just fine with my iphone. Two days ago it stopped pulling new messages from the server, and moreover, it also does not show the recent ones it showed already, but only shows me approx. 100 really old messages (6 month old).
Whenever I sync, it pretends to do it (sync date gets updates), but it does not fetch the messages.
On my desktop and on my ipad2 (EXACT SAME SETTINGS), everything is ok, messages are pulled from the server (just as it was ok on my iphone two days ago, and I did not change anything).
When I go to the desktop, and move a new message (one this is not showin up on my iphone) to a subfolder of inbox or to the trash folder, then I suddenly can see this message also in the subfolder or in the trash on my iphone.
I have deleted the account and set it up anew, same result: the same 6 month old messages get uploaded, and that's it. I can delete also these old messages, and then they are gone, but also this does not pull up any additional messages.
    Any ideas?

  • My Mail preview window stopped displaying full messages when I select a mail item (empty) on iMac. How do I get back the preview window?

How do I get back the preview window so that I don't have to click open each message? Thanks in advance! --Cheryl

    Hi LeoLady!
Having the preview window up to get a quick and good overview of your mail is very handy and I understand you would like to get that feature back!
Have you tried to close the mail app using cmd+q and opening again? Have you tried taking your mouse the whole way to the right in the mail window and try to "drag" the preview window back out again?

  • Phone doesn't receive full message

I have a LG Cosmo Touch that I got a couple weeks ago.  It just recently within the past week started only sending the very last part of the text message if the message was too long.  For example, when the person would text me with more than the 160 characters it would do the whole 2/2 thing at the beginning suggesting there were two messages, but the first one never comes.  On top of that, I do remember there being a time not too far back that I would get messages that are over 160 characters.  This has become a real frustration for me.  Please help!
    Thank you,
    Angie

    - Have you tried  a picture message its   counted as a text message, you don't need a data plan and it is not charged as data when you send it as a picture message.
You don't have to attach a picture, and you are allowed 1000 characters.
Just choose picture message, and don't choose a picture, and type your long message in the text field.
