IPad: safari iframe bug

document.getElementById("smallFrame").contentWindow.onblur = onBlurHandler;
document.getElementById("smallFrame").contentWindow.focus();
//here "smallFrame" is an iFrame.
in iPad safari, above code will never fire onblur event.

Is what you wrote what you get on the screen when you open a particular site with Safari? If it is and Safari works fine on othor sites then it appears to be a site problem. Why not inform the people at the site? Also, have you tried other browsers on the iPad such as iCab or Perfect Browser?

  • Bizzaro Safari iFrame bug

    Hi - I've build a page that has an iFrame in it. The page has a dhtml horizontal scrollbar scripted for it, moving a div within a div with a clipwindow on it. The custom scrollbar and the div render correctly and function fine.
    The problem: in Safari (1.3 / os10.3.9), if you click the mouse within the space of the iFrame that is not a part of the div, and move the mouse (with the mouse held down) the entire document within the iFrame scrolls horizontally. The iframe tag is set to not scroll, the clip window and the divs are a set width.
    I have a sneaking suscpicion that Safari is reading the content within the div (even though it's clipped and invisible), and allows you to scroll to the end of the document even though all the tags are telling it not to.
    has anyone had any experience with this?
    thanks
    Powerbook G4/1.25/1GB/10.3.9

    Safari reads the div in the iFrame as content, so if you click and drag within the iFrame you physically move the page around as far as the page's content allows.
    In order for Safari not to read the content, set a width on the div (no matter the size of the content) and add the overflow CSS attribute as 'hidden.'
    Safari will then not register the hidden content, allowing the click/drag bug not to function since it doesn't see the hidden content as page content.
    Still a bug on Safari, but the work around should work.

  • Iframe is not working for pdf files in iPad safari

    Hi,
    Pdf file is not displaying properly in iPad safari. I have faced below issue while using iframe
    Not displaying in full width and height
    Not able scroll other pages in pdf
    Thanks,
    Arun

    Hi Viraj,
    You need to upload an image "pdf.gif" in \etc\public\mimes\images folder.
    Also, you need to define the MIME Type for PDF documents in portal.
    Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Utilities -> MIME Types.
    Check whether you already have a MIME Type for PDF or not. Else you can create a new Type "pdf" with MIME Type "application/pdf".

  • BUG REPORT: iPad Safari glitch and Fedex' website problem? HELP!!!!

    Okay, I've discovered a weird bug and I don't know how to fix it, but you should definitely check this one out so you don't get the same problem...
    I recommend you DON'T try following this on your iPad, otherwise you'll also experience the error, and I haven't found a way to fix it yet.
    Process:
    On iPad Mail I received a message from Apple's store detailing my iPad hard case has shipped via Fedex. I tapped the tracking link inside to view the tracking information. Fedex' site launches in the iPad Safari app, the URL directs me to the usual shipping status page, but then a dialog box pops up saying www.fedex.com "Framework Not Found!" with an "OK" prompt button.
    Problem:
    The button cannot be tapped. The modal dialog box therefore refuses to disappear allowing access to any other part of the Safari app. In effect, Safari is now useless.
    I can launch different URLs from Mail and the page in the background updates, but none of the interfacial buttons, swiping with fingers or any other means of using Safari now works. What I need is a way to force-quit Safari.
    Anyone?

    Results of Google search on force quit ipad app:
    "Apps are software, too, and sometimes software gets stuck (just ask anyone who’s used a computer for more than a month). To make a cranky app shut down without having to restart the whole iPad, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red “power-off“ slider—but don’t slide this time. Instead, press and hold the Home button down until the app quits and you find yourself back on the Home screen. "

  • IPad Safari IOS 5 window.close() closing wrong window

    When I want to close the child window(although now they open as tabs) in the parent window with javascript window.close(),the parent window was closed.
    Is this a bug or have any solution?
    Safari/7534.48.3
    My script:
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var subWin1 = null;
      function popSub() {
        subWin = window.open('myurl,'subWin1','height=200,width=200');
      function closeSub() {
        subWin.close();
    </script>

    I'm having the exact same problem.  On iPad Safari on iOS 5 attempting to close a popup window with close() is causing the parent window to close instead.  Every other browser, including iPhone Safari on iOS 5 it works fine.  I've been trying to come up with a workaround but haven't found anything yet.  If anyone can find a workaround please post.

  • TS1702 Hello, we have a Mac and an ipad,the Mac is working and wifi is on and the Ipad's wifi is on too, but Ipad Safari can not open because it could not connect to the server, does any one know what have happened?

    Hello, we have a Mac and an ipad, the Mac is working and wifi is on and the ipad's wifi is on too, but Ipad Safari can not open the page because it could not connect to the server, does any one know that?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
    Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Hi apple user. I have lost all iPad safari bookmarks. Tried hold home button with sleep button but it doesn't get back my safari bookmarks. I also have reset without erasing my iPad data but still doesn't work. Help me get back my safari iPad bookmarks.

Please help me get back my iPad safari bookmarks. I have contact Apple but could not set chat session. I have my Apple ID registered same with iCloud, also same during the time I have all iPad safari bookmarks lost. My iPad never synced on computer since I bought it with set at local store. Please help me get my iPad safari bookmarks back, thanks.

    Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I do it again hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously and the Ipad turn off and on again with the Apple logo but it still is hanged on the same point. I have do it a few more time, it still hanged to the same point for few hours with no change (like picture):

So my case is this: at the moment everytime I hold the Home and Sleep buttons the Ipad always off and reappear with the Apple logo and be hanged on (like the pic), and I need restoring my Ipad Safari bookmarks... so I guess I need using Itune or something to get back the Ipad then using Icloud or blah. Please guide me for the step, Im not sure if connect to PC, if any that my Ipad data would lost, or is there anyway that I also can get back Ipad Safari Bookmarks after connecting to PC, also the how using Icloud. There is no Apple store or service store in my country so I think I must do it my self. Feel free to share your guide, thanks.

  • Issue with viewing SAP Dashboards Portal iView in iPad Safari browser (Mobile)

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue while viewing iViews hosted in SAP Enterprise Portal. I have two iViews -
    1) An SAP BICS Dashboard - Published as an iView in EP. I can see the dashboard in my laptop running properly. It consumes BEx queries (BICS dashboard) in the background.
    2) A BEx query published as an iView (java web format), also able to run and execute from my laptop.
    When I am logging into the portal from IPad Safari web browser I am able to see and run the BEx query iView published in the portal.
    However, for the SAP Dashboard iView, it is showing me a blank page after loading. Is it possible to see SAP BICS Dashboard through an iView in Ipad?
    I need to run the dashboard iView from the IPad as well. It is an urgent requirement
    Would really appreciate your help!!
    Thanks,
    Debtanay

    Hi,
    Don't spend your time to find the reason.
    BI platform content is not supported directly in Safari on iPad or Chrome on Android, only through the Mobile BI apps on these platforms.
    Please see PAM chapter "SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Mobile Clients supported with this release"

  • Can you change the search engine in iPad Safari?

    iPad Safari is set to use Google in the upper right search field.
    Can you change to another search engine other than Google like you can in regular Safari on or Macs?

    Yes, and those might be available through some of the alternative browsers available in the App Store. In addition, iOS provides a range of ways you can filter web content there in Settings. I've not played with it but it looks as though you could exert some control that way.

  • IPad safari reader option redirects to authentication page of the site.

    I used to read online magazine in ipad safari which is a paid site requires authentication.
    When i click Reader option in safari and back to normal page the site asks for authentication again. I have already saved the passwords in safari.
    Is there any workaround to get rid of this ?

    Yes it does Barry but only on some pages, check this page:
    http://www.team-insight.co.uk/georgie-blog/
    Tap them and you get an "accessible" simplified, large text version of the page. I want to use this for all pages but I can't figure out how.

    PS you are looking on an iPad, not desktop?

  • Need to have iPad Safari browser support

    OK I know this is hard to do, but I have a site that is redering badly only on the iPad Safari Browser.  It works perfectly in all other browsers on all other platforms.  Any way to get this support?

    This is very difficult to do. To solve this problem would require one of the following, each of which has it's own set of problems.
    Run the content on emulators/simulators on our servers. Far from ideal since inevitably the emulators will be different from the actual browser on the device and our discussions with users indicate this is not acceptable.
    Actually host multiple iPads with custom software/hardware modifications to allow us to control them and capture screenshots to return to the BrowserLab client software. This is a very expensive solution for us since it would require constant replacement of expensive mobile devices.
    So, unfortunately, no. BrowserLab does not currently support testing on any mobile devices, sorry.
