IPad Safari Toolbar

I've noticed an inconsistency with the iPad Safari toolbar and the iPhone Safari toolbar, the buttons are not the same order.
The iPad has "Back", "Forward", "Windows", "Open Bookmarks" and "Add Bookmark" in that order
The iPhone has "Back", "Forward", "Add Bookmark", "Open Bookmarks" then "Windows"
Any reason why they are inconsistent? It actually makes a big difference when actually swapping between both devices.

If you've updated to iOS 5 then Safari uses tabbed browsing, the thumbnail/page browsing as found on previous versions of iOS has been replaced and you can't go back to it. If it's something that you'd like back then you can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe in a future release we'll get the option : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

You cannot customize the Safari toolbar on the iPad.
What you can do on the iPad is go to Settings>Safari>Always show Bookmarks Bar>On and that will add a bookmarks bar on to the Safari browser.

There is no View toolbar on Safari on the iPad - there are icons for forward and back a page, bookmarks, and print/email/add bookmark. To open a new tab press the '+' to theright of the current tabs

If you mean the Safari thumbnail view - that is not possible with iOS 5. Safari now uses tabs to pen new web pages. Tap on the + sign on the right side to open a new tab. Other browsers still use the thumbnail view for open web pages. iCab Mobile has the feature.
If you are asking about the bookmarks bar in Safari - go to Settings>Safari>Always Show Bookmarks Bar>On.
If that is not what you are trying to do, post back with more details.

Safari toolbar creeping up into infobar

After a while using Safari the toolbar creeps up into the iOS infobar (whatever you call the thing with the time and battery). I have to reboot Safari to fix it, which is annoying. Also, the toolbar, which used to be blue on white, is now white on dark grey. This happened after upgrading to 7.0.4, but I don’t know if it was right after or took some time.

You have private browsing turned on now. Tap the + sign in the upper right portion of the Safari toolbar to open a new tab. Look in the lower left corner for the word "Private". Tap on that in order to leave Private Browsing mode.
Close Safari completely and then reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

IPad Safari IOS 5 window.close() closing wrong window

When I want to close the child window(although now they open as tabs) in the parent window with javascript window.close(),the parent window was closed.
Is this a bug or have any solution?

I'm having the exact same problem. On iPad Safari on iOS 5 attempting to close a popup window with close() is causing the parent window to close instead. Every other browser, including iPhone Safari on iOS 5 it works fine. I've been trying to come up with a workaround but haven't found anything yet. If anyone can find a workaround please post.

I'd start by force quitting Safari and clearing the Safari cache:
Double-click the Home button
Swipe left or right until you see Safari
Swipe UP on the app's preview to close it
Click the Home button.
Go to the Settings on your iPad
Tap the Safari sub-menu
Within the Safari menu, tap the "Clear Cookies and Data" button
In the pop-up window, tap "Clear"

Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. Did you install the Adblock extension ? Or any other extensions lately?
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

Hi Viraj,
You need to upload an image "pdf.gif" in \etc\public\mimes\images folder.
Also, you need to define the MIME Type for PDF documents in portal.
Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Utilities -> MIME Types.
Check whether you already have a MIME Type for PDF or not. Else you can create a new Type "pdf" with MIME Type "application/pdf".

Google search language in Safari toolbar

I am having a strange problem. When I am searching using Google in the Safari toolbar the results have started to come back in another language (I think it may be Ukranian). Can anyone suggest how I might change the language back to English? I have checked all obvious settings are set to English and I have no idea how or why this changed in the first place. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Issue with viewing SAP Dashboards Portal iView in iPad Safari browser (Mobile)

I am facing an issue while viewing iViews hosted in SAP Enterprise Portal. I have two iViews -
1) An SAP BICS Dashboard - Published as an iView in EP. I can see the dashboard in my laptop running properly. It consumes BEx queries (BICS dashboard) in the background.
2) A BEx query published as an iView (java web format), also able to run and execute from my laptop.
When I am logging into the portal from IPad Safari web browser I am able to see and run the BEx query iView published in the portal.
However, for the SAP Dashboard iView, it is showing me a blank page after loading. Is it possible to see SAP BICS Dashboard through an iView in Ipad?
I need to run the dashboard iView from the IPad as well. It is an urgent requirement
Would really appreciate your help!!

Don't spend your time to find the reason.
BI platform content is not supported directly in Safari on iPad or Chrome on Android, only through the Mobile BI apps on these platforms.
Please see PAM chapter "SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Mobile Clients supported with this release"
