IPad says 'iPad not backed up' but won't let me do anything?

IiPad says 'iPad not backed up' but won't let me do anything???? It's new I set it up then wrapped it for my dad but when switched on yest the message came up and won't allow me to do anything????

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

Place the iPOo in recovery mode for the passcode issue. For recovery mode:

If it's not accepting your answers, then if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

Brought album on preorder, Itunes saying I have purchased it, but won't let me download or buy again!

I preordered AM by the Arctic Monkeys, it was released on the 9th September. It still has not downloaded or gives me any options to download or even rebuy it. I had to change my card details which may have stopped the transation, this has now been sorted but it is still in the same 'purchased' stage and won't let me do anything. I can only listen to the preview of each song.

That is true. you purchase one download only of music/vids/etc.
You can redownload apps only.
Did you update without making sure that you had transferred all purchases from the ipod to itunes? not good.
From the itunes store terms of service:

You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception. They are under no obligation to allow.

The iCloud backup problem could be your internet connection and I don't mean that your connection isn't working. There could just be an issue with the devices connecting to the iCloud servers through your network right now for some reason. You might just have to wait that out and see if you can backup in a few hours or so.
Are you devices updated to iOS 7.0.4?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

When switching my iPhone on a message appears in black and white tiny writing on the top left hand corner. It displays the apple sign but won't let me do anything.

Have original ipad which won't backup, itunes says there is an error but won't give me any details

I have an original ipad which I struggled to update the OS software from 3.2 to 5.0 but eventually managed to do this manually. HOwever, now there is an update to 5.1 which when I try to do it via wifi, it just says there is an error. Tried to do it through iTunes but it starts to back up and then tells me there is an error but does not give details, when I click on the further information button it doesn't do anything. Because it won't back up, it won't let me install the update. It won't back up either to the computer or to iCloud, I have tried both. I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas.
Also, in case anyone can help - several of my apps won't work on my ipad - logo quiz, ibooks (worked fine until I updated software system) and a few others - just flicks on briefly and then throws me out.

Have not been able to take a movie either. Will take picture. No idea what square is, but won't let me select it either.

Try close all apps in multi-task window
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
3. The app will fly off the screen

I have had this problem with Windows 7 and iTunes updates for some time. Each time it takes hours to solve but with the over the air upgrade to IOS6 on my iPhone and iPad, I was determined to solve and remember what I did, So here it is:
