IPad says it's sending video via AirPlay, Apple TV won't play it.
When I send video to Apple TV, iPad says the video is playing on AirPlay but the Apple TV refuses to play the video. No audio, no video, nothing. Just a second of the spinning gear like it's trying to play it, then back to whatever it was previously doing. Both devices are at their newest software levels, and resetting the iPad doesn't work.
The only thing that has worked is unplugging the Apple TV, but that only resolves the issue for about a day, and sometimes not at all. HELP?
What kind of content are you trying to play, and from what app?
Is this all music/video/photos or just certain video (which might be incompatible if you've made it yourself)?
Some kind of wireless network issue is most likely, either slow or dropped connections, but if unplugging AppleTV helps it may be worth hooking up to a computer via a microUSB cable and running iTunes to factory restore it.
What kind of network setup do you have?
Can you stream anything via Airplay from iTunes?

When I 'send' audio music only to apple tv from PC it plays perfectly. But when I attempt to send video from itunes on pc, I get error message on apple tv. When I 'send' video OR music from iphone nothing works. When I 'send' video from ipad nothing works (did not test music on ipad) Also, my "remote" software not connecting either anymore to apple tv. From apple tv side, everything works, connected to itunes and my library and everything works fine.
I have a single home (local) network with Apple TV connected via ethernet cable. not sure if RIP was helping or hindering but it is off. My iTunes is on PC (ver 11.02.26). On my Apple TV, airplay is ON. Homesharing is on. all devices on same homesharing. I have done updates on everything, reset everything, rebooted everything, kicked everything, unplugged and plugged everything back together again.
but still no joy...No, do not have micro usb cable. if it is a big deal, I can get, although have restored back to factory settings which 'appeared' to be successful. Although did not solve issue

Cannot Stream Video from iPad on AppleTV - Media Server Apps via Airplay

Need help on this one. Am using iPad 4th gen - Apple TV 3rd Gen and iPhone 4S. (all latest firmware)
Last week was streaming video via Airplay using GoodPlayer and ArkMC apps on iPad to stream from my NAS (WD MyBookLive) via DNLA media server to Apple TV - Worked Amazing
Upgraded firmware on appleTV.
I can no longer stream via Airplay from these apps - Airplay Icon appears - I can Select the Apple TV device for airplay (Checked - icon is blue). But no image on apple TV - video image stays on device.
Full reboot of both AppleTV and iPad.
Other software using server type setup (ex.:EMIT app) work perfectly and streaming directly from video on iPad works perfectly. (need to turn on the server on the computer though) or airplay enabled web sites and/or apps seem to work well also.
Mirroring works but the video is not full screen and wrong ratio.
Any clues ? I've lost this one.
ThanksApparently what is happening, and this was brought up in another thread, and what I suspected was happening as well, is that the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch is not streaming the video itself directly to the AppleTV (it might be streaming it if it's audio only, haven't confirmed). What it's apparently doing is, is telling the AppleTV2 to download the video and play it on its own, starting with xx:xx timestamp directly from youtube or your iTunes library. This is why it's only working with your iTunes library or the built-in YouTube app. And also why it wouldn't work with the camera roll, because it isn't streaming directly from the iPhone. So it's not exactly what we were originally thinking or expecting.

IPad says I have more videos than I have
trying to reduce storage I have found that my iPad says I have 44 videos when I only have 9. Where should I look for them please?

Apple TV won't send sound from video (via AirPlay) to Sabrent WiFi Audio Adapter
Hello All.
First, my basic setup is:
Apple TV, connected to projector via HDMI, also connected to 2.4gHz wifi network
Sabrent WiFi audio receiver (model WF-RADU), connected to 2.4gHz wifi network
MacBook Air (2013), connected to 5.0gHz wifi network (specifying the wifi spectrum as having the macbook and Apple TV on same spectrum had previously led to significant lag)
In the Apple TV settings, I've selected the Sabrent device as the AirPlay speaker. This will work for streaming audio if I play music directly from the Apple TV (such as streaming an iTunes album I'd purchased). However, when I connect the MacBook to the Apple TV (via AirPlay), the audio comes out the projector speaker, NOT the Sabrent device. My goal of course is for the video from the Apple TV to be sent to the projector, and the audio to be sent to the Sabrent device (plugged into a standard speaker).
Seriously flummoxed here, as I expected this to work seamlessly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hulu, Netflix and my personal videos have been working fairly well on appletv. Suddenly, without warning, they have all failed. My subscription via my apple ID is on automatic renewal, so the issue of non-paid services does not arise. On the other hand, YouTube is working perfectly well on appleTV.
Several solutions offered in the discussion group such as setting the appletv on sleep mode are not technical solutions. Rather, these solutions offered remind me of analogue age, when one had to hit the side of a TV set when reception failed.
In my case, I am using the same HD TV set that has been working all along. A new cable has failed, but if I am told to pay for an advice related to a fault that is not mine, I would rather buy a set box that is void of appletv or apple.
Apple please give a clear, well defined technical solution on the problem with your device, and to be specific on the following error:
"This content requires HDCP for playback"
I know what HDCP is, and one cannot say that this is related to a dynamic code that evolves with time, failing at a time of its convinience.It is considered rude to double post on a fourm.

Trying to send Video via email?
I am trying to send a video that I recorded on my Nokia lumia 920 via email as it is to long/big for MMS. The problem is when I go to attach a file from email, it only pulls up pictures and doesn't even show my videos. It happens both on my yahoo and google accounts. I would hope Nokia wouldn't limit this option but I can't think of anything else. Can anyone help with this issue? How can I access videos from my phone and send via email?? Thanks
i think this is due to the size restrictions of videos, as such, it would probably be impractical to send a 40MB video via email in comparison to a 2MB photo. if you need to, you can always upload your videos to SkyDrive and send a link to the desired recipient via that.
UPDATE: i've gone to the gallery and long-tapped on a video and selected Share: and selected Hotmail, and it said it was compressing the video and then added it to a blank email as a .mp4. You can always try that....... -
6233 sending video via bluetooth
hi, im having a problem which is- when i send video i have recorded on my 6233 to other mobile via bluetooth the recipient only gets sound!! i have tried sending to a N80 which is more superior to my phone so i should be able to handle the 3gp video?
i have tried changing the screen size but still no cigar!
Any ideas?No, you can't do that. Only X6 has this feature, so far, it stores Bluetooth OBEX files on its mass memory directly. You have some third party apps which can do this on other phones search on the Ovi store, sorry, i can't recollect the names of them.

IPhone 4S won't send videos via email.
I tried to send a video to my friend, of course it was in the process of sending but then I instantly got this email
"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed."
The same problem happened with Viber. It won't send videos even after being trimmed. It processes the video but then says "Not Sent"Is wifi connected and working. Are you signed out on other mobile devices and outlook etc. You can be locked out when signed in toomany places atonce. Sometimes you need to sign into your email account from a laptop or desktop computer. This will not work on mobile device. You will need to make sure there are not pop boxes, security info required, etc. Obviously this tests password too. After trying to enter manually as mentioned above, go to Settings>Mail Contacts Calendars>Tap on any accounts saved that are not working or used anymore and delete them. If that doesn't resolve delete the "previously working" account and add account again.

Cannot play iPhone 4s created videos via Airplay on Apple Tv
I have had this issue ever since upgrading to the 4s. I cannot play the videos created on my 4S on Apple TV via Airplay. The same error occurs whether I try to pull the video from the Apple TV itself, the iPhone 4S, or the iMac. Very frustrating. The phone takes beautiful video but I shouldnt have to move the video to my PC and hook it up to the TV via HDMI to watch it. Thanks for any help.

What do you see when you double tap the home button on the iPhone 4s?
When I double tap to get the Multitasking Bar, then swipe all the way to the left, I do see the volume control and the Airplay icon. Clicking the Airplay icon lets me choose the Apple TV and set Mirroring on. Then when I play my presentation, I see it on the TV.
I don't see it if WiFi is off. Also make sure the Apple TV is on the same network.

i tried to send a video via mms to my friend. the video is short (about 12 seconds)
i went to the video and pressed "send via mms" i selected my friends name then hit send.....the message was grey, and the yellow alert triangle appeared i clicked it and it said "Device is full. Dlet files to clear space". i checked ...i had about 5GB free i went ahead and deleted fiels i no longer need which got me up to 5.2GB i tried to send again...and same message....anyone else having this problem? any fixes? i do have the latest webos updateHello and welcome to the forums;
I would recommend first trying a restart. Hold down the power button and move the ringer mute switch (on the right side of the phone above the volume up/down buttons) back and forth 3 times. Then let go of the power button. Within 3-5 seconds, your screen will turn off, and your phone will restart.
Try sending your message again, and let us know the results.
