IPad screen has colored lines
The screen on my original iPad has horizontal colored lines and won't turn on. This happened suddently. I restored it via iTunes, but the colored lines are still there. Please help!
Sounds like a potential hardware issue, in which case it would need to be repaired, or replaced.

I have the 3rd generation Ipad with iOS 6 on it. I was using it yesterday when i closed my case, and left it for about 10 minuets. When i came back and opened my case, the screen was completley messed up! It has moving lines all over the screen that are a mixture of white, and grey. then it has an even darker moving pixel going across top top of my Ipad, about one inch from the top to be exact. the Ipad will lock and unlock using the top button, but thats all it does. The ipad will also not power off easily. The only thing close to it turing off was when i did a hard shut down and held the home button and the lock button at the same time, but after the screen turns off and i let go of the buttons, the ipad turns back on and goes back to the same lines everywhere.
I purchased the ipad about 3 months ago and this is the first problem i have had. I have NEVER dropped it and the case i use is an Apple smart cover that uses a magnet to stay connected to the Ipad. I have also tried putting it in recovery mode and wiping my Ipad but have had no luck with any change. Please someone help me and figure out what i need to do.I hope someone can help as I have the same problem with my iPad!

My Z1 screen has colorful lines
Hi guys. So I bought my Z1 a week ago and it was running fine until today at work. I pressed the unlock button and it was just a black screen. The backlight is on, and after a couple seconds the screen turns in to a bunch of vertical colored lines! Upon further inspection everything on the phone BUT the screen was functional. Seeing that I couldnt restore it to the factory settings through the phone, since the screen is messed up, I used the SUS to get it to the latest update. The update finishes, and I power on my Z1 and it does the same thing again. So I'm wondering if theres a fix for this I can try on my own, or if Sony can do anything for me. Help!!! Thank you!!

Sounds like a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -

If the reset doesn't do it then it's possible that the backlight or another part of your screen has broken. Unfortunately it's not really user servicible. I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out. If your device is still under warranty and they don't determine that the damage was the result of 'abuse or neglect' (their words) then it could be a free replacement.
I'd just do a backup before you take it in, just in case. -

Bring your phone and $199 to the Apple store for an out of warranty exchange of your phone. You clearly broke it when you dropped it.

When you fail to give information on the exact model MBP that you have, how do you expect anyone to provide you with any specific information?
I suggest that you go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com and look for parts and prices. That naturally assumes that you know what parts are defective and need to be replaced.

Not to get your hopes up to high, but Apple had and may still have an extended warranty program for the displays in those Early Intel models. So personally, I'd call Apple Support first and ask if they are still offering an extended warranty program?

Sadly, another thing about repairing those Early iMac's? Is that there is no way of knowing if the display is the only problem and it could cost you more to fix it, than just buying a brand new 21.5" iMac.
