! just got a new docking system so i plugged it in to my computer because it wasnt the wall charge type, so I put in my ipod, then straight away my screen went white and now its not doing anything! i press the home and lock button nothing happens... then i plug it in my computer it doesnt come up in itunes or even the copmuter. please help i can not live with out my ipod!

Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
    Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
    Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.
    Good luck!

I never set up a paascode and haven't used my ipad in about 2 wks. now its asking for a passcode to unlick. help

    LOST PASSCODE
You should be able to remove the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.
    Otherwise read this
If that doesn’t work  you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it. Or read:
    Enter Wrong passcode

  • First time I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems, dropped my plan. Planning to go for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition.

First time in my life, I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems in the community, dropped my plan. Shall I go for for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition otherwise wait for ipad Air 2.

For every iPad Air with screen problems there's a million that work fine.. If you buy at the Apple Store take a good long look and hand it back if it's not right.

  • Ipad was working fine and now has black screen and wont turn off or on or do anything

Ipad was working fine and now is a black screen. Won't do anything now

Is it charged? If not charge it with the supplied charger.
If charged, have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • IPad Screen problem green and fuzzy

I was happy with my Ipad going online and reading books for hours a day until recently when I turned it on! The screen is greenish and fuzzy like when you have a bad reception on a tv with an analog signal... please help! I have no access to a genius bar as I'm living in Dubai, I had mine shipped here from the online store.

Big thank you to you and BoboWoodyo. Anyone having a problem with their screen looking like an old analog tv who's rabbit ears needed to be adjusted (or worse) should try tapping the upper right edge with their hand a few times before doing anything else. Such an easy fix-who'd of thought?  Obviously not me and just as obviously, it is most likely a hardware glitch. I wish I had found this solution at the beginning of my day and not the end. I have a well loved, well used 1st gen Ipad.  I had tried all solutions found on this page plus others....hard reboot several times, reset thru itunes, different usb cord, etc. and nothing worked. I had an unreadable screen. My last resort was a clean factory reset found using clear, precise directions from ipadforums.net  I know this was successful because of the on-screen itune messages I was getting but at the end of it all, I still could not read my ipad screen.  I walked away and had a pity party  . I decided to do one more search for a possible solution and happened upon this page.  3 taps was all it took - a beautiful, clear, readable screen again.  No apps, no music, no photos, no books, no magazines but it works again so I'm just going to hold on to that happy thought for right now.

  • Ipad screen problem ! HELP ASAP ...

    Hey guys ,
i just open my bag and see that my ipad screen is something like this :
    http://sbms87.com/ipad.jpg
I am absolutely positive that there was no falling or anything ...
i don't have access to any apple retail store or apple care or any apple official delegates at all ... ( i can't replace it )
    what can i do ?
please help and give me a solution ..

the first thing i do , was hard resetting iPad and then restoring it ...
seems that this black bar is part of screen . even in restoring , that was there and never left ...
i search the problem in other forums , and found a couple persons that have the same problems . even the position and size of the black bars was the same ( all of them go to apple store and get a replace in no time ! ) ... so i think that's not a random corruption of display connector or LCD ... .
also , this black bar is independent of orientation , that always remain in the same place . and sometimes half of it get lining structure ( lines with different colors ) .
i also capture image from the ipad screen with Sleep + Home buttons and that's correct and there is no sign of black bar ...

  • Turned phone off and now its black and gray screen

I turned my phone off and now the screen is black and gray and wont do anything. I just had a screen replacement done on my phone. I need my phone to work. HELP!

Hold the home button and the on/off switch simultaneously for at least 30 seconds or until you see the apple logo, indicating your phone's being rebooted.

  • Not sure what i did,,, but in i photo my large view of pic is black but you can see the picture is there becuase of the tags - so when i click on the little picture at bottom it use to show up big , now its black

Help i clicked something and now my big wont show up big.. its there but black.. you can see the names that are tagged but no pic.. ive tried view ect but nothing

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Help! iPad screen problem!

so i just found out that my iPad right side(portrait mode) has a bit fatter black part that u see on the screen, like the black space also known to define the size of the screen, is fatter than my left side black part! i mean the left black space u see on the sides of your screen, is normal! why is that so? is there any problem or is it like that only for the iPad 2?
again - the black part is the space around the screen! the side's space that is not lit up! and makes the screen look odd!
please understnd my question properly! Please!

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Ipad screen problem

Me acaban de regalr un iapd 64gs y aparece un franja blanca en la pantalla, todo funciona bien.pro esa franja no desaparece. Sera q esta rota la pantalla?

Apart from weak WiFi performance (which I logged with Apple Support some time ago), I have had no problem with my iPad.
2 or 3 days ago a blue 1-pixel line appeared 1 inch below the top of the (portrait) screen.
Restoring factory settings changed the colour to green; restoring all my data and programs changed the colour of the line back to blue.
Rang Apple support for the UK, reported what I had done, and then they said they would send a replacement. Excellent service from Lesley in Greece.

  • HT4623 Ipad screen problem.

When using my ipad for viewing "Whimp.com" or "facetime" the picture is sideways. Doesn't seem to be a problem when viewing 'youtube".
I've tried shaking the ipad and turning it in different directions but nothing helps. Anyone have an idea?
