IPad screen retention/ghosting problem?
Hello everyone,
I have the iPad 2 with terible screen ghosting, and then I send it to AASP the told that it's just normal. Does anyone else experiencing this screen problem? Or it is normal?

IMac retina 5K with image retention (ghosting) problem?
I have just ordered CTO iMac retina 5K. After 2 days, I saw the problem as same as MBPr's image retention or ghosting. Is this new iMac defect or bad order ?

IPad Screen problem green and fuzzy
I was happy with my Ipad going online and reading books for hours a day until recently when I turned it on! The screen is greenish and fuzzy like when you have a bad reception on a tv with an analog signal... please help! I have no access to a genius bar as I'm living in Dubai, I had mine shipped here from the online store.
Big thank you to you and BoboWoodyo. Anyone having a problem with their screen looking like an old analog tv who's rabbit ears needed to be adjusted (or worse) should try tapping the upper right edge with their hand a few times before doing anything else. Such an easy fix-who'd of thought? Obviously not me and just as obviously, it is most likely a hardware glitch. I wish I had found this solution at the beginning of my day and not the end. I have a well loved, well used 1st gen Ipad. I had tried all solutions found on this page plus others....hard reboot several times, reset thru itunes, different usb cord, etc. and nothing worked. I had an unreadable screen. My last resort was a clean factory reset found using clear, precise directions from ipadforums.net I know this was successful because of the on-screen itune messages I was getting but at the end of it all, I still could not read my ipad screen. I walked away and had a pity party . I decided to do one more search for a possible solution and happened upon this page. 3 taps was all it took - a beautiful, clear, readable screen again. No apps, no music, no photos, no books, no magazines but it works again so I'm just going to hold on to that happy thought for right now.

i don't have access to any apple retail store or apple care or any apple official delegates at all ... ( i can't replace it )
what can i do ?
please help and give me a solution ..the first thing i do , was hard resetting iPad and then restoring it ...
seems that this black bar is part of screen . even in restoring , that was there and never left ...
i search the problem in other forums , and found a couple persons that have the same problems . even the position and size of the black bars was the same ( all of them go to apple store and get a replace in no time ! ) ... so i think that's not a random corruption of display connector or LCD ... .
also , this black bar is independent of orientation , that always remain in the same place . and sometimes half of it get lining structure ( lines with different colors ) .
i also capture image from the ipad screen with Sleep + Home buttons and that's correct and there is no sign of black bar ... -
When I charge the battery, the screen has a massage show" Not Enough Storage , This iPad cannot back up because there is not enough iCloud storage available. You can manage your storage in setting" but the problem is my iPad screen is freezed .I can do any thing about the setting, Can I change my iPad setting from my computer?
Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. You won't lose any data by doing this.

My ipad 2 suddenly show red screen during start up and on ordinary screen show red colure fill the screen , I think it is hardware problem mostly screen. This problem didn't happen after fall or only accident ,what shall I do ?
You could try a reset and see if that fixes it : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it doesn't then you could try restoring to your last backup and/or resetting back to factory defaults. But if it's a hardware issue then you will need to contact Apple. -
IPad Screen Issue..."Burnt In Bar"
Well, after owning & using my iPad since November, and LOVING IT, I have noticed - all of the sudden - a one-inch-wide bluish 'bar' that is VERY subtle on the left side of the screen, which runs the entire long length of the unit.
VERY disappointing, as I am sure you can appreciate.
I purchased the unit at Best-Buy, with an extended warranty, as there are no close Apple retail stores in my area.
A) Anyone else experience this issue?
II) Anything I can do about it?
3) Recommendations?
How do I back up my Kindle purchases? I do not see my (several) books anywhere.

VR/S in CTAs others have noted, it sounds like a hardware fault in the screen, and as long as it's not intermittent and there's no physical damage to the iPad, you shouldn't have any problem getting a replacement.
I do want to clear up something regarding your subject line, though, in case others see this post: you refer to "burn in," which is a term that was used in the days of CRT monitors to refer to an image that becomes permanent with time on a monitor because of heavy use. Some older Macs, for example, have a ghosted image of the Mac OS menu bar atop their CRT screen. Plasma TVs can also be affected.
I've seen some posts, especially in App Store reviews, that claim their iPad screen suffers from burn-in. This is not the case. LCD screens are practically incapable of burn-in, and certainly not within the timeframe that the iPad has been in existence. A hardware fault can cause similar symptoms, but they're unrelated to "burn-in," and they're certainly not caused by specific apps, as others elsewhere claim.

Hi, i purchased an iMac from Apple's official distributor in Turkey, "Bilkom", at 24 March 2013. After two months I noticed a ghosting problem in my iMac and took it to "Artı Teknik Servis" for technical support. The technical servise confirmed the problem, yet refused to change my iMac and instead offered basically the replacement of the related part. Their arguement is I had to apply them within 1 month's time for change but I found out that the time for such hidden defects is two years, not 1 month. I had to take my iMac back, no problem solved. It was quite unprofessional for such a company, being the main distributor of Apple in Turkey. I hope you can provide support for my problem.

Has anyone else experienced any markings on the screen on their iPad?
What I mean is. When I switch between web pages on my iPad2, the new page loads, but I can still see markings of the last page faintly over the new page.
It's only just begun to happen.
Is it a fault in the screen, anything I can do?It could be a problem with the screen. Have you tried restarting the iPad or rebooting the iPad to see if it goes away? Does this only happen when surfing the web or do you see the same behavior when using other apps?
Start here.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you only see this in Safari - you could try clearing the cache, but if the screen is ghosting, you may start seeing it everywhere. If you want to clear the cache go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cache/Data. You can clear cookies as well but I don't think a cookie would be the issue here. -
My iPad screen is stuck on an alert message that is informing me that I have not backed up to iCloud in 5 weeks. How do I get pass this alert message.
I have been dealing with this problem since upgrading to ios 6. I have an old ipod touch that is still running ios 5.? that backs up daily with no problem whatsoever. I have attemped every solution posted on these help boards (i.e. deleting accounts, turning off all apps from back-up, restarting device, changing routers, attempting back-ups through different wifi spots) sometimes one or a combination of these band-aid fixes will work for a day or two, then suddenly the ipad (version 3) will simply stop backing up, and I will spend hours of frustration going through all the tedious fixes. All the while my old ipod touch running ios 5 backs up daily with no problem whatsoever. I have called Apple support and they seemed surprised that this is a problem and offer no real solution whatsoever.
Until Apple gets their head out of the sand on this one, and actually fixes the obvious bug that exists is ios 6 this problem will continue and will not be resolved. -
How can I get my iPad screen back on?
I cant get my iPad screen to turn on. I have tried holding the home and sleep button down and tried 'restoring' the iPad but it still not working and nothing appears on the screen. It is charged.
I was having trouble before wtih watching a video. When I went to the video app I had a TV show on and when I hit the 'done' button in the upper left corner of the iPad the iPad would freeze up. I could not get to the list of video's on the iPad because I could not get out of the show that was the most recent show I was watching.
To make it even weirder, iTunes can find the iPad so it must still be on and working (right?). But no matter what I try I can't get the screen to turn on.
I don't know if this matters, but I took the iPad with me out of the counrty for 5 weeks and I just returned and today is the first time I synched it in 5 weeks (it did sucessfully sync more than once today). It worked fine while I was gone, except I did have one time where the video would freeze the iPad like described above, but it went away after just turning the iPad off and on.
Any help would be great!

It may be possible to force the iPad into recovery mode. See <this article>.
If that does not work, I suspect your iPad has an internal problem that will require repair. If it is still in warranty, contact Apple. If out of warranty, search the web for iPad repair centers. There may be one in your city.

My ipad screen suddenly went dark without any external forces. At first I can hear the unlock/ lock sound when I slide across the screen and so touching is not a problem.
I proceeded to sync my ipad and was prompted to upgrade to ios 7.0. I upgraded thinking it will solve the issue, yet even the unlock/lock sounds have disappeared after which leads me to think that the ipad can't even enter the homescreen.
Since I can still see white apple and itunes mark on a lit screen during recovery mode, I don't think it's a hardware issue with the screen. I tried to restore it (with another prompt to upgrade to ios 7.02) but I failed and the restore error No. is 3041.

i have apple tv and itune libary on the same network.
i am wondering if i can watch movies stored in the libary on the ipad screen without turning on the tv or the computer. i have no problem watch the movies on TV thru apple tv. thanks.If your computer is turned off, the iTunes library is no longer available to the iPad or the Apple TV. You can connect the iPad to the computer and use iTunes to sync your library to the iPad; this copies your music and movies to the iPad, and you can play them whenever and wherever you wish.
If your iPad does not have enough memory to store all your movies, use the "Selected movies only" option and check off the movies you want to copy; the rest will not be copied.
