IPad set up

I bought iPad yesterday. Downloaded latest iTunes. Plugged in the USB to the computer. Plugged in the connection to the iPad. Message popped up on my computer screen: This iPad cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started. When I depress the power button, I get the iTunes icon, a battery icon showing full charge, and a USB connector with an arrow pointing to the iTunes icon. This is displayed for approx 10 seconds, then the screen goes blank and it's non-responsive to touch. I scoured the Apple tech support areas. Any ideas?

  • How can I sync a (one) song from my computer to my iPad without syncing the entire library even though i have my iPad set to manually manage music?

    Whenever I try to move just one song from my iTunes library to my iPad, it will start syncing like 300 other songs randomly so I cancel everything. I have my iPad set to manually manage music but it still does that. And what's worse, I never get that one song I chose in the first place. The same thing with photos. I'll sync a photo and it starts syncing music as well. But at least I get the photo just fine.

    Easy solution when on itunes simply go to the music tab and press on music library then browse what file which contains the music you want to be added same with photos

  • I took out a 1 month Zoosk subscription in 2012. I cancelled in my ipad setting but Zoosk have still been charging me for two years!!!

    Back in 2012 I took out a 1 month zoosk subscription through my ipad and quickly found that it auto-renewed after the first month. I contacted zoosk and asked them to cancel the subscrip. They said they couldnt do it and I had to cancel the subscript via my apple ID and manage subscritpions in ipad setting. So I did this and the ipad showed me my subscription had been cancelled. I thought all was well and good. until by accident I noticed this week on my bank statement I have a charge of £22.74. After a little more investigation I founf that this has been the case for the last two years. I logged into zoosk which has confirmed my subscription was never cancelled and I have been paying £22.74 for the last two years.
    I have contacted apple itunes about this and have not heard a anything bird form them. I have also contacted zoosk several times and still heard nothing. I now have the fraud team from my bank investigating! It seems that apple want no part in protecting us from these sites...
    I advise you now, PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT TAKE OUT A SUBSCRIPTION WITH ZOOSK. THE GIRLS ARE EITHER EASTERN EUROPEAN FAKERS USING THE SITE OR JUST PLAIN FAKE PROFILES AND THE COMPANY ARE FRAUDSTERS!  AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

    As I told you in the other thread, you have to file the claim with the Small Claims Court now. You only have just over a month to file the claim (Limitation Act 1980: 6 years for England and Wales, 5 for Scotland, so if you are in Scotland, you have effectively lost your 1st year's amount).
    Your amount is below the limit of £5000 and you can easily file the claim online. You said you have a book keeper, so I assume you will have all the paperwork on hand/filed away nicely. This will make your case easy to prove. You are not only allowed to claim the amount taken unlawfully from you (the mods here do not like the word stolen), but also your court fees and an 8% PA interest on the amount. You can also claim other costs in trying to recover your money from BT; for exampe a "reasonable" amount of money for your time, phone charges to BT, postage if you wrote to them, cost of paper, ink, etc...
    Note that legal fees are not claimable in the small claims court, but you can easily find help on how to fight without legal representation elsewhere on the internet. Do not worry about not having legal representation if the case does go to court, the Small Claims Court is design for "little people" to fight the bullies.
    Good luck and you will feel great when the cheque arrives (ask me how I know!).

    1-Now go to ur itunes then ur ipad  & press app sync  at this time u will choose the app which should be in & which one should be out , itunes will never but them again exept if u change ur mind & put it again .
    2- with ur ipad go to ur settings ...< store settings ..< stop auto download which may download free apps at any time .
    when u do this believe me Itunes will not do any thing except which u say

  • InTune: Disable or control iCloud "find my ipad" setting

    Hi,
    My company has acquired inTune licenses recently but it's not in production yet.
    One of the concerns we have, is to know if we can control the "find my ipad" setting on iCloud, basically because if the users enable this users and then they leave the company without unlinking the iPad from their user account, the iPad will be
    useless.
    I found this Apple support document (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5927) where they say that compatible MDM solutions can control the feature but that doesn't mean inTune has implemented it, and I'm not able to find it into the Microsoft product documentation.
    - Can you confirm me if it's possible or not?
    - If not, do you know if it will be implemented in the near future?

    This is not yet supported by Windows Intune. It has not been documented for the next update either (which isn't to say it won't be included).

    iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

    I use facetime on my ipad and i now have a new iphone c, when setting up my iphone i set it to the same apple account as the ipad, I now cannot use facetime I have tried to facetime a friend and I have also asked them to facetime me but when they do both iphone and ipad try to connect but both fail.   • IPad set up and syncing for my mom--help!

    I just bought an iPad for my mom. I want to set it up for her (she's not too tech savvy). A couple of things to know about my situation:
    - she is a PC user
    So, I can set up her iPad at work where I have access to a PC. I have her iTunes log-in information to do so, however, when she goes to sync it on her very own PC at her house, will it be okay? ( ie: everything will be intact and accounted for?) I won't be able to hands on help her if it does not... She's in WI and I'm in CA.
    I'm thinking the initial activation at my work PC should be fine ( just as the Apple sales staff activates iPads or iPhones at their store and then we go home to sync).
    Please provide me with some guidance and answers to this.... I really want her to use this seamlessly

    If you purchase anything she'll have to transfer purchases via iTunes, but I've reformatted and then synched fine so all should go well.
    If all else fails you can always use a free trial of the likes of GoToMeeting or even easier for her GoToAssist to take control of her pc and fix things.
    Note: don't work for Citrix, just like their products and know they have 30 day trial accounts.

  • How can I stop iPad setting up email account automatically

    My email is my domain on Google apps.
    When I add it as an imap account, iOS tries to set up automatically and somewhere is finding a really old mail server name from about five years ago before we switched to google apps.
    So when it tries to send it is attempting to use this old server putting [email protected]@oldserver.com. 
    I can't stop it, and it is not listed in the smtp server list in settings, so I can't delete it.
    Deeply frustrating as I can't send mail from my iPad.  Can anyone help?

    Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    Note: Data will not be affected.

    You can have multiple devices using find my phone. Something sounds odd about this, what exactly are you doing to add them.

    Allot of the newer iOS devices support AirPlay with Mirroing. This lets the device stream video & audio to devices like AppleTV. There is an application called reflector that lets Multiple iOS Device stream video to a Mac Computer. Last time I used it, I could get away with streaming video from 4 devices to the computer.
    The thing about airplay is the user on the iPad has to chose to stream video, instead of you choosing to look at their screen.
    Lan Desk offers some teacher/student tools for ipads. http://www.lanschool.com/lanschool/features/ios-student The catch is that the student has to have the app, and open the app.

    I subscribed to Music Match with iTunes and yet my ipad settings for Music only still has the option to subscribe, and therefore I cannot click on an option to Activagte iTunes Match, since it is not there. I have all the right number of songs from the icloud showing up in my ipad now, and I have played a few, but when I tried to turn off the computer, it showed a field stating that my ipad music would stop playing too, and it did. I thought this might have something to do with homesharing, but this I thought was something separate from iCloud.
    There is something wrong, but I don't understand what. It has just synced, but the problem persists.

    Home sharing is separate from iTunes Match.  Sounds like you were playing music using home sharing, which turned off when you turned off your computer.
    Open iTunes on your computer and go to the Store menu.  Confirm that there is a setting called Turn Off iTunes Match.  That will confirm that iTunes Match is enabled on your computer.  Then check to see what Apple ID you subscribed to iTunes Match with.  It will be the ID in Store>View Account (in parentheses).
    On your iPad, confirm that you are signed in with this same ID in Settings>iTunes & App Store (at the top).  If so, you should see an iTunes Match setting listed with an on/off slider.  Slide it on to enable iTunes Match on your iPad.

    You will most probably have to force your iPad into Recovery Mode to remove passcode.
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.
