IPad shuts down when checking email after unlocking screen and listening to music

My iPad has begun to shut down and go to main screen while checking my emails .....I had just unlocked my screen and stoping playing aol music. I would love some help if possible?

Try rebooting the ipad by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

Why does my iPad shut down when I try to open Facebook?  it just started doing this 3 days ago.  I cannot get into my Facebook account on my iPad!!

Close all apps in the multi-task window and try again.
    1.Double-click the Home button.
    2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
    3. Preview will fly off the screen.

  • Ipad shuts down when i load safari

My Ipad shuts downs tha minute a seach anything using safari?

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
Then close Safari completely and do a reset and see if that helps. To close Safari : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My ipad shuts down when downloading

My ipad shuts down several times a day, perhaps, if I go on facebook and want to see older posts, it shows loading but them it never loads and shuts off the page, how can I fix it? It's been going on for way too long now and I'm sick of it!!

    LilPeachPie:
I have two iPad 2s and they both were almost unusable after upgrading to iOS 8.  Upgrading to iOS 8.1 did not help either.  I did a full erase and restore through iTunes but that did not resolve the problems.
After a rather long visit to the local Genius Bar and some evaluation of the error messages within the diagnostic section of the OS, it was determined that there was either an app or some data that became corrupted and was causing all of the issues.  Their suggestion was to do a full reset of the iPad through iTunes but this time, set it up as a new unit, and then reinstall the apps I wanted directly from the app store.
I have now done that on both iPads and both are back to running smoothly.  While they are a little slower than prior OS versions we need to remember that we are using the lowest powered hardware that is supported by the OS. But they are definitely usable.  As an added bonus, there were a lot of apps I never used and decided not to reinstall at this time so I have gained a lot of extra space on the iPads.
I would suggest doing the restore and see how it works.  Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    David

  • Ipad shuts down when syncing

This is a new problem I'm having. Whenever I connect my Ipad to my pc and start i tunes, it works for a minute or two, until I start syncing something, and then the ipad shuts down and the apple icon appears. Then I have to reboot the ipad to get it back to work again. So basically I can't upload or download anything from itunes. What's wrong here?? is it itunes? my pc? or did something in my ipad went broke?? help!

If this is a new problem, go through any new photos you may have saved on the iPad and remove them. I had this same problem and I combed the interwebs for a solution, I tried it, and it works.
The iPad is a bit picky on what image formats it supports and supports well. Some cause it to crash for seemingly no reason. Corrupt files can also lead to the same result.
    Good luck!

  • TS4002 iPad shut down duet low battery after recharge email is now missing, any way to retrieve it?

I was in the middle of composing or replying to an important email, gmail, battery shut down and now I cannot retreive the very lengthy important email. I have tried contacting google and troubleshooting by looking in archives, deleted spam, all mail etc, 'sent' also, in case it maybe sent through a default, but not there either, archive either!  Please help!

You can save any mail you want to keep on your mac, by dragging it to the 'On My Mac' Filder in Mail.
You can then delete anything left in iCloud you don't want.
If you want to use an alternate service for mail to iCloud, you need to set it up at system preferences > Internet accounts.

  • ELEMENTS SHUTS DOWN WHEN SENDING EMAILS

I have a Vista system and when I attempt to send photos through Elements 7 it shuts down completely. Tech support said I need Outlook, which is not on my computer. Is there another way to send photos? How do I set up an Adobe email account? Thanks!

John<br /><br />Here a further report from High Cloud Investigator:<br /><br />First test set:<br /><br />- Have deleted all contacts in Windows Vista: c:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Organizer\Settings\contacts.xml<br /><br />- Changed to Adobe Mail (signed up, got confirmation)<br /><br />- Added one contact (myself)<br /><br />- Selected one picture and sent it<br /><br />- It worked and pic arrived<br /><br />First run was as aministrator, second normal, both seem to work.<br /><br />Second Test Set:<br /><br />- Changed my machine (also Vista) from Outlook to Mail and sending PhotoMail worked - no crash.<br /><br />This means that there is something else on my wife's machine that suddenly, after a few weeks of normal use of PhotoMail with Windows Mail, decided to block it. <br /><br />As the undisputed Chief Investigator do you have some further tests I can/should/must run. I sure would like to get to the bottom of it, especially as the mailing via Adobe has a few restrictions such as no copies or blind copies and you have no "sent" file, meaning you cannot trace who of your friends has not yet suffered from you "gifts" <G>!<br /><br />Alexander

  • Ipad shuts down when battery is at 20%, since updating to 7.0.4

I've read a few posts about battery issues and I've tried everything from battery saving tips, to resets, to restoring my ipad. Nothing is working. My sister also has an ipad 2 and has exactly the same issue except hers shuts down at 35-45%. This is only since updating to iOS 7, possibly only since iOS 7.0.4.
Can anyone help? Apple? Why can't we roll back a version any more?
My ipad is out of warranty and I don't want to pay for a new battery when it seems to me to be a software issue...
    All replies appreciated.

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Safari shuts down when AOL email sent

Every time I send an AOL email Safari shuts down and requires I relaunch. Started a few days ago. It's driving me crazy

    Hiya,
Any light you can shed on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated - I want to go home for the holidays!
In the meantime, download a secondary browser to get your flight booked:
    Camino
    Firefox
    Opera
    OmniWeb
It crashes for me too when selecting the USA version of the site, and trying to book, say, Boston to Toronto.
From the crash it looks like a problem with the WebKit framework Safari uses for the drawing of webpages and would require a patch from the developers to work (or aircanada to change something on their site, I don't claim to know what however...).

A portable Mac doesn't appear to respond properly when you close or open the lid.
The computer sleeps or shuts down unexpectedly.
The battery does not appear to be charging properly.
