IPad shutting down
Hi everybody
My iPad has been shutting down for no reason ( not low battery) and although it easily can be started with a hard reset i am wondering if it is a sign of impending hardware failing, does anyone have any thoughts on this, I have been told it is not an uncommon problem
Thanks Richard
I, too, am experiencing the same issue. It has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks, basically shut down in the middle of what i'm doing. Have to do a hard reset to turn back on.
I just upgraded to OS4.3 last night, but I don't want to get caught up in the situation where I wait for it to happen again, only to realize my warranty just expired. I'm going to take it in tonight, doesn't hurt to do diagnostics, right?

i cannot sit outside for more than 45 minutes without my ipad shutting down due to heat. is there a way to fix this?
What model iPad? What is the outside temperature?
When outside what are you doing on the iPad - running a graphic intensive app?
iPad operating ambient temperature: 0° to 35° C (32° to 95° F)

my iPad shut down on its own and when i switched it on, it asks to 'Activate iPad' and reads below 'This iPad was lost and erased. Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to erase this iPad". Please help!!!!
Is it possible that you or someone who knows your iCloud sign on went into the Find My iPhone app and erased your device via iCloud? Because that is what that message is saying.
Have you tried to sign on with your Apple ID and password?
Was it online prior to this incident happening?

I am sick of iPad shutting down while on face book !!
My iPad shuts down after 5 minutes on Facebook!! So sick n tired of it !!
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

When trying to watch Apple TV from my iPad,film or sport, after approx 7 minutes the iPad shuts down and I have to reconnect. How can I stop this happening
it's your network that is not stable
I would troubleshoot the general network setup look if the router had the latests firmware
if the wifi channel was the default one then I would change it as other near by wifi networks using the same channel would interfere
if the wifi router supported it then I would switch to 5Ghz wifi as the 2.4Ghz frequency is a pretty busy frequency
and I would place the wifi router a place where it would provide best possible cover for the devices
and I would try to see if connecting the appletv by ethernet to the wifi router would provide a more stable setup -

Email app in Ipad shuts down after 5 seconds. I try power off. What can I do?
Email app in Ipad shuts down. I can't read email. I try power off Ipad. What can I do?
Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later
For anything beyond that we would need much more concrete technical information, beginning with exact system info and the crash logs.

My iPad shuts down apps after a few seconds.
Since a few days my iPad shuts down apps after a few seconds, while I am active with them. It happens with games as well as Safari and while I am reading eMagazines. What can I do? I am using the old iPad.
Try closing all apps completely and then do a reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Ipad shuts down randomly after latest software update
After updating to the latest version of IOS7 our ipads shut down randomly. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggested solutions? Thank you
iPad is relatively old device with the hardware requirements too low for comfortable functioning of iOS 8, that is the mail reason for a slowdown.

My Ipad shuts downs tha minute a seach anything using safari?
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
Then close Safari completely and do a reset and see if that helps. This is a new problem I'm having. Whenever I connect my Ipad to my pc and start i tunes, it works for a minute or two, until I start syncing something, and then the ipad shuts down and the apple icon appears. Then I have to reboot the ipad to get it back to work again. So basically I can't upload or download anything from itunes. What's wrong here?? is it itunes? my pc? or did something in my ipad went broke?? help!
If this is a new problem, go through any new photos you may have saved on the iPad and remove them. I had this same problem and I combed the interwebs for a solution, I tried it, and it works.
The iPad is a bit picky on what image formats it supports and supports well. Some cause it to crash for seemingly no reason. Corrupt files can also lead to the same result.
Good luck! -
